Personally, I think they should be called the Winnipeg Blackhawks. After all, it makes sense given the number of ex-Hawks on the roster.

Word is that the "jets" will remain in the SE division for next season, until re-alignment....errrrrr lock-out is over.

LOL. Its funny how behind the times you Yanks are on Hockey news. We heard that 'word' going on 3 weeks now. Along with the Wings going to NorthEast and Boston to the Atlantic.
The sizzle in the Steak
Wings are not going anywhere. Silly Eskimos.

The team tried all kinds of stunts and gimmicks. There was the Blue Crew, a team of long-legged young girls in plunging necklines and short shorts, bending over shovels to groom the ice during TV timeouts.

Miami Panthers hire Dineen as coach. He was a good player...
From TSN:
From TSN:
The Florida Panthers have scheduled a Wednesday press conference where they will announce former NHLer Kevin Dineen as their next head coach.
Dineen, 47, has spent the past six years as the head coach of the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League, and won the Louis A.R. Pieri Memorial Award as the AHL's outstanding coach, as voted by members of the media, in his first season behind the bench.
As a player, Dineen spent 21 seasons in the NHL, primarily with the Hartford Whalers. He also had stops in Philadelphia, Carolina, Ottawa, and Columbus, and finished his career with 760 points and 2229 penalty minutes in 1188 regular season games. He retired in 2003.
Dineen takes over for Pete DeBoer, who was fired by general manager Dale Tallon earlier in the off-season. Dineen will become the Panthers' 11th head coach in franchise history.

Pshaw, screw da computers!
Best sports town -- Advantage: Boston
Pacific Ocean vs Atlantic Ocean -- Advantage: Vancouver
Most Canadian born players -- Advantage: Boston
Obesity index -- Advantage: Vancouver
Original six -- Advantage: Boston
Quantity/Quality of mixed Asian hotties -- Advantage: Vancouver
Vezina Trophy winners -- Advantage: Boston
Therefore based on my very reasoned and analytical metrics, ignore teh and pick the B's in Seven. Enjoy those cross continental flights and 10:30pm EST puck drops, in other words welcome to the Wings world.

Where were you over the last 2 or 3 years when this could have all been stopped....by actually going to a game.
I wonder if Atlanta, Phoenix, Florida (insert southern US franchise here) would be better off if they weren't forced to spend 40 million in salary. Atlanta claims they lost 25 million, if you could cut that to 5 or 10 they may still be in Atlanta today. That cap floor was a huge mistake by the owners.
