Bruins offered them 2 bags of pucks and an autographed Tuukka Rask hockey stick for that pick. Word on the street is the Leafs are going to do it, they think that autographed stick will payoff in the next few years.

And I'm sure Burke will be happy with the 2 bags of pucks. He could put them on the top line and get the same production he's getting now.

DREGER: LEAFS HAVE NO PLANS FOR DRASTIC CHANGE

There are no plans for drastic change in Toronto, including the firing of head coach Ron Wilson.

"No coaching change," said Maple Leafs GM Brian Burke via e-mail, no doubt frustrated by his team's play and the predictable line of questioning that inevitably follows each Leafs' loss.

Fans at Air Canada Centre called for Wilson's job during a 5-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

The hometown crowd's frustration grew when Sam Gagner scored with three seconds remaining in the second period to put to the Oilers up 3-0.

Gagner's eighth goal of the season killed Toronto's comeback hopes and displayed the Leafs' inexperience and unwillingness to fight back.

Watching Edmonton's youth in Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle shine at the ACC was painful, however, discontent in Leafs Nation won't be enough to end Wilson's reign.

"Have the players quit on Wilson?" "No," said a source close to the team.

Brian Burke and Maple Leafs' management continue to work the phones in search of a trade, but there is no deal at the moment the team believes is even remotely worth considering.

A minor trade, fourth liner for fourth liner, to change the look of the team would also be an option, but even the simple transactions appear to be impossible to nail down.

Veteran forward Colby Armstrong is expected to return this weekend after missing 16 games with an injured finger.

Armstrong is considered "likely" for Saturday's game against Tyler Seguin and the Boston Bruins.
I'm not calling for Wilson's head. The problems run far deeper than him. But at one point do you do something, for the sake of doing something. You can't fire all the players. Sorry Ron, but its time for you to go.

He skates around for them He's been battling a knee injury, he definitely did not have any jump last night when I was there. He really just kind of glides around the ice right now, has no drive whatsoever. Typical russian slump, he'll be back in a month or 2

Whatcha suggesting? Hire a coach for the minnesota trap have boring games but hope for more wins? But like you said you're firing just to fire. Pens stuck with Therrien to get through the rough times and teach discipline. He got fired for the same thing but firing a coach and going through a ton of coaches won't develop the players.

Interesting article though. Seeing the young talent on the Oilers had to be tough. The Leafs should be on the same course as the Oilers right now.. Tough.....

Its been 3 years. I don' think he's the guy to turn things around.

And did I mention that their penalty kill has been 29th or 30th every year he's coached. Don't need much skill on the PK. You need coaching

Kessel is not made to be a marquee player.

Dion is also being exposed as an overrated player who has fallen greatly since his rookie splash.

Sadly, those will be the faces of the franchise and Burke will unlikely backpedal on his key acquisitions.

Agreed. Said that from day 1.

To be fair, he hasn't even played in 3 or 4 weeks. The team wasn't quite as out of it while he was still playing. Having said that, I doubt he'll help change things when he gets back.

The biggest issue I heard on the radio is Phil's attitude. He's not exactly a team-oriented guy...Then again, not sure if that is speculation or not.

Yeah...5 days in the Windy City. The wife's never been there...and the extra bonus is that she's converted into a huge Hawks fan after their run last season.

So, we're actually both very excited to be going...

Probably why he slid as far as he did. Some mock drafts had him going #2 or #3 overall, if I remember correctly...

I was watching in 94 when the Niners won it all. I'll never forget that NFC championship win (ie; Real SuperBowl) against Dallas.

But ya, since then they've gone the way of the Leaves.

Not too late to convert her to a Oilers fan. Tickets are cheaper (and accessible) and the team will be better. Just sayin....

You kidding...? I had to pay an arm and leg to get the Executive Terrace seats a couple weeks ago.

The ticket prices for the Oil are equally nuts...if not more.

Red Wing Nation!

Since the Wings are the best drawing road team in the NHL, wouldn't shock me to see lots of Red in the stands. Of course, part of the reason may be so many peeps have left MI because of the bad economy - ugh.

Ouch.

Hossa is about a week-ish away. So another 3-4 games. Kane...who knows. The NHL's injury report policy is retarded. Why so much freaking secrets? The NFL has more needed in regards to planning plays and they are up front with injuries.

soooooooo glad I kept Gabby over Hossa in my keeper league, even if he is injury prone.

I have plenty of scoring, Nash, Ovy, GAbby in the AZ league too, but still it's not good.

Sorry Jup.

@ Crosby. I don't think he liked hearing Stamko's name mentioned along with his. I think what we also fail to remember is that Crosby is just about 2 full years (23 months) younger than Ovechkin. He may be getting even better.

Anyone see that skate to stick move he pulled last night while pretty much at speed?
