^ That and $1.50 will get them a medium coffee at Duncan Donuts.

And I'm sure that rating is based on Crosby playing this year.....which we know isn't a guarantee by any stretch.

The terms most of the young stars are getting (i.e. Toews, Kane, Stamkos, etc.)...

Allows for re-upping and raises as they hit their prime as well as doesn't lock the organization into a long-term situation a la DiPietro/Yashin...

RFA. They'll sign him. They have plenty of coin.

Anyone hear about Byuflyn (sp?). He was arrested yesterday for Boating while intoxicated and apparently recently weighed in at 286lbs, 40 over his playing weight.

I guess he's not to thrilled about going to Winnipeg.

Yeah, I read he was arrested for pulling a Scottman111 on the lake.

But, 40lbs. over his playing weight...!??

Yow. I think Chicago knew what they were doing when the offloaded Byfuglien to the Jethrashers...

Interestingly enough, after both hits he goes on to score a goal. His second the game winner, and a beauty at that.
Today.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovski missed only one game last season and it appears that he was lucky not to miss more as the forward admits he may have suffered a concussion after being hit by Zdeno Chara in a game against Boston on Feb. 15.

In an interview with Dmitry Chesnokov from Yahoo! Sports this week, Grabovski spoke about the injury.

"Well, I think I had a mild concussion," he told Chesnokov. "But I recovered pretty quickly. And now I am feeling absolutely fine."

At the time of the incident, the Maple Leafs stated that Grabovski did not suffer a concussion after twice being hit into the end boards by Chara in a game Toronto won 4-3.

"He would not have been allowed to return to play had he exhibited any symptoms of concussion," wrote Toronto president and general manager Brian Burke in an e-mail to the Globe and Mail after the game.

On the second hit early in the third period, Grabovski had trouble getting to his feet and skated slowly off the ice. He returned to play later in the third period and eventually scored the winning goal with just over a minute remaining.

In comments made right after the game, Grabovski acknowledged that he didn't mind the physical style of play from the Bruins.

"I like play like that," Grabovski told reporters that night. "I like when defencemen play hard against me. It gives me motivation and I play harder and faster."

Grabovski scored 29 goals and 29 assists last season, and finished third on the club in scoring.

You gotta be kidding.

Big Buff was a huge reason why the Hawks won The Cup.

...and without him....not so much.

Absolutely. Someone to park in front of Louuuuuuuuuu and for the PP. Still, the PP was not the problem last season for Chicago but rather their PK.

These are the big ones for me:

June 29, 2011 Bought out the contract of F Chris Drury.
July 8, 2011 Agreed to terms with D Michael Sauer and F Artem Anisimov.
July 2, 2011 Agreed to terms with C Brad Richards on a nine-year contract.

So, essentially they swapped Drury for Richards...which is a nice upgrade since Drury was injured and relegated to 4th-line duties and scoring, what, one goal...? Richards will definitely bring more to the table.

Are they good enough to get past the Bruins, Flyers, Caps, and Pens (if Crosby comes back)...? Doubt it.

And even then, don't think they will get past the Western Conference rep whoever, it may be. I think the Cup winner be from the West this season.

Basically.

I'd be happ(ier) if they did not make the playoffs on the last day of the season (or not at all) for a change.

Don't get me wrong, I think your team's got some players I'd have on my team anyday (i.e. Dubinsky, Prust, Staal)...

And Torts has got that squad outworking most...just dunno if they have the offence to win...

And any team with Avery...

I think the problem is as a rule they don't play three solid periods. If only the game was only 2

You will be lucky to get 6th seed. Pens, flyers, washington, bruins, buffalo, tampa and montreal are all better.

Seed is immaterial. We're not getting out of the first round. I am just sick of backing into the post season and having to win/lose on the last day if we get in at all.

Very true.

It's a shame for him. He is very good and deserves better offense & defense.
