The sizzle in the Steak
Perhaps, but what is more than likely the case is that it was shady from day 1...and it's quite telling where the Oilers offered up two players in a row that were injured. The second one cannot be bought out the way the first player in the deal could and would have been. So the Kings end up with damaged goods twice....with no way out on the second player...when told he would be good to go the day after the trade.
Shady? You bet.

However, he wanted too much money for a 3rd pairing D-man. Oh well...wish him the best of luck.

Stamkos has "poison pill" in his contract just like Crosby and Malkin!!!!!
http://www.fiveminutesforfighting.co...mega-deal.html
Wow!!
Interestingly, according to CapGeek, both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have a NMC worked into the final year of their contract, meaning that their future is entirely in their own hands. If negotiations on an extension progress slowly or even fail, the Penguins will not have the option of trading either at the deadline (an unlikely scenario sure, but we’re talking hypothetical). Both superstars will choose where they want to play, and, likely, for how much. Update: reportedly, Stamkos' contract has a NMC/NTC in the fifth and final year as well.

Some early buzz on Nathan MacKinnon...not saying he's the next Sidney Crosby...Story from TSN: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=372355
But, if he is...just watch: The year he's to go #1, the Leaves will finish with the #2 pick overall.

Nikolai Khabibulin is headed to jail.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_yl...khabibulin-dui
PHOENIX (AP)—Edmonton Oilers goalie Nikolai Khabibulin(notes) on Tuesday withdrew an appeal to his extreme drunken-driving conviction, accepting a 30-day jail sentence.
Khabibulin had appealed the jail term after being sentenced back in August of last year.
But his Phoenix attorney, Mark DuBiel, said Tuesday that Khabibulin wanted to drop the appeal because the case likely would have prevented him from going to the Oilers’ training camp and could have lasted into the season.
“Despite assurances by legal counsel regarding the strength of my appeals case, I have decided to withdraw my appeal and proceed with sentencing,” Khabibulin said in a statement. “Once completed, I eagerly anticipate a timely return to Edmonton for training camp, where I will strive to be the best player, teammate and citizen possible.”
The 38-year-old played for Phoenix from 1996-99. He signed a four-year, $15 million deal with Edmonton in 2009.
DuBiel said Khabibulin will serve the first 15 days of his sentence in jail with work release and the other half of his sentence under house arrest. He will have to wear an ankle monitor and is subject to random alcohol testing.
Khabibulin also was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine and complete an alcohol program.
Khabibulin was pulled over in his Ferrari near his Phoenix-area home on Feb. 8, 2010, after the car was clocked at 70 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Police said an officer smelled alcohol and Khabibulin was arrested after a field sobriety test showed his blood-alcohol level at .164, more than double the legal limit.

No. Quebec Islandiques.
Or Hartford Whalanders.
Or Hartford Whalanders.
Lots of folks in LI are upset over Islanders... but me being a Ranger fan... Toronto Islanders or Mexico City Islanders sounds good.
That is true, when those two play is not exactly hockey..more like UFC..
Hmm.. Keep islanders in LI lol Their space expires in 2015 and all they need is 400 million to stay; I'm sure they will come up with the money.
Man I miss hockey.
