So, Canes/Bruins...I'm still sticking to my initial pick of the Whalers taking out Boston.
Leafs/Bolts...yeah, I'm surprised Toronto actually took Tampa to 7 games but ultimately, it's the Leaves and well, I don't see them getting past Tampa.
Oilers/Kings...I picked the Oilers in 5 games and am stunned they are being taken to task by LA...and so, I guess I have to go with who I went with initially but if Edmonton falls in this game, should anyone be shocked? I'm rooting for the Oil because of Duncan Keith though.
And then, the Pens/Rangers...sorry, cabby, if Crosby were playing, I think your team would've been finished for Game 6 but hey, here we are and we already debated the Trouba hit on Sid. If Sid can be back for Game 7...I take the Pens...they are just more grizzled and know how it's done.

Wow, what a game 7 between the Rangers and Pens......
NY advances but have we ever had a Round 1 with this many game 7s and this closely fought? Wow!

I'm not aware of so many game 7s.

Tough loss but not surprising, the Pens blew a 3-1 series lead and were leading in all 3 elimination games that they lost. Frustrating, but it is what it is. Congrats Cabby, what a series

I wonder what will happen to the Pens this off-season? Rust, Letang, Malkin, and a few others are all UFAs?

Stars/Flames game was fun to watch too...more to see Oettinger stand on his head and do backflips. Holy momma was he the goalie of the 1st round.

Hell of a game. Of course it had to go to OT...the Pens PK unfortunately, was just not airtight the last couple of games and when they called that PP for NY, I was like, uh oh.

Team will definitely look a lot different next year that's for sure. I feel like this was their last best chance to make a deep run, yet they just couldn't get out of their own way.

I could not believe the number of quality chances Oettinger stopped. Sucks for him seeing as he made so many saves, same as with the Rangers, I knew Dallas had to score fast or lose.

I knew when it went to OT that we needed to score fast or lose. Thanks
I hope you are wrong on the Rangers.
I was anxious all day.

I was hoping for a long game in one of the 2 Game 7s -- like at least double OT...but, in a way, it's good too because I got a bit more sleep in.

I am not hating on the Rangers but the Canes are a very very deep and fast team. We'll see but I don't know if NYR's depth is enough to take out Carolina.

So, to the other point we had talked about just above, series can ALSO turn on its head on one play. It's what makes the NHL playoffs the best in all pro-sports.

Like, no skin in the game though, from a pure track-meet blazing speed perspective, I'd love a Panthers (or Canes)/Avs Cup Final.
If Edmonton does not get any secondary scoring from McDavid...oi...not sure how they can eke out 4 wins against the Flames. Sutter is going to set up a wall on Connor. And Draisaitl...looks like he has 1 leg left. Blues, no chance...unless um...they give the entire Avs team COVID.
Panthers...well, I picked the Bolts because they are still scary good and know how to get it done. Panthers could win it but I'm going with experience and see Tampa's window still wide open.
Rangers and Canes...it's if Gallant et al have a way to stifle the Carolina speed...Boston nearly did it but needed home-ice which was when they nerfed the Canes attack from my observations. Where NY is stronger is in net...but, on a team like the Canes, do you really need a namebrand goaler?

For sure...I mean, let's be real here, the Rangers were left for dead and Pens looked poised to take the series in 5 games...then, it flipped on its head because of Sid's injury I think...not rehashing the validity of the hit -- just the causality as that's when NYR came back in that game and then, here we are. I'm sure you remember Pittsburgh pasted the Rangers 7-2 in Game 4...Game 5 looked like they were poised to wrap up the series...and then yeah...
So, to the other point we had talked about just above, series can ALSO turn on its head on one play. It's what makes the NHL playoffs the best in all pro-sports.

Rangers forward Barclay Goodrow won’t be available for Games 1 and 2 of their Second Round series against the Carolina Hurricanes, but he still has a chance to return from injury during the series according to head coach Gerard Gallant. Goodrow was injured in Game 1 against the Penguins and hasn’t played since. He remains week-to-week with an undisclosed injury.
