Yeah, not a fan either. It's a total cheap out by the NHL. Sure it is great that I get it for free with my Verizon plan but honestly, I preferred the old NHL.tv. Still angry I no longer get to watch any of the pre or post game coverage with this stupid new ESPN+ setup.

From Pens games I watched earlier this year I was shocked watching the recent two games against the Avs. Definitely didn't look like the team I watched a few games of a month or two ago. The first game was still a fairly even tilt. Pens owned first, even middle, Avs in the third. I expected they would lose one or both with the number of injuries the Avs have right now. In years past they have folded when injuries to top guys would happen.

Mike Bossy, Islanders legend and Hockey Hall of Famer, dies at 65
New York Islanders legend and Hockey Hall of Famer Mike Bossy has died after battling lung cancer.Bossy, 65, announced in October that he was stepping away form his analyst job with TVA Sports after being diagnosed.
“The New York Islanders organization mourns the loss of Mike Bossy, an icon not only on Long Island but across the entire hockey world,” said Islanders President and General Manager Lou Lamoriello in a statement. “His drive to be the best every time he stepped on the ice was second to none. Along with his teammates, he helped win four straight Stanley Cup championships, shaping the history of this franchise forever. On behalf of the entire organization, we send our deepest condolences to the entire Bossy family and all those who grieve this tragic loss.”The Islanders’ first-round pick in the 1977 NHL Draft, Bossy won the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year that season with 53 goals and 91 points. That was the first of nine consecutive seasons where he would score at least 50 times. He reached at least 60 goals five times, including a career high of 69 in his sophomore season.
Bossy’s second NHL season saw him make history as he scored 50 goals in 50 games, matching Maurice Richard, with two goals during a January 1981 win over the Quebec Nordiques.
In 753 career games over 10 NHL seasons, Bossy compiled 573 goals and 1,126 points, all with the Islanders. His 0.76 goals per game average is the highest among all players with at least 200 games played.
My friends lived near him and saw him often outside playing with his young kids

Sad day for Hawks fans as Pat Foley, long-time announcer for the team, called his last home game as he's retiring...

Rip.
This is old but seems appropriate to Philly's season.

9:30 hockey is great, especially when they win 4-0, that makes 8 periods without giving up a goal and that don't sux. The last goal they gave up was the in the 1st against Ottawa last Saturday!

Anyone know the shutout period record? Rangers are at 11!

Hopefully they get this losing streak out of their system before the playoffs.

We lost Copp again and Panarin yesterday, hopefully neither is gone for any length of time. Seems without Copp we have much less spark.

It's the Oilers.
I am sure the Pens will wake up against an actual real team. Edmonton is suddenly winning but I have a feeling they are going to get a dose of reality once the playoffs hit.

Toews was back on D for the Avs last night and they win. I think coincidence not. He seems to be a key cog to things staying calm and going well. Glad they ended the losing streak before the playoffs.

WTF is up with the VGK.
They are almost like the LeLakers...have everyone and they are fighting for their playoff lives? Whut?!?

I get that they rested most of the team but losing to Montreal snapping their 9 game losing streak? Letting them take the lead 3x? NEVER leading?

The team that SHOULD be in hiding now are the VGK...losing to the Hawks? Really? They have EVERYONE...
Sadly, Eichel goes from missing the playoffs in Buffalo...to...missing the playoffs in Vegas.

I can't be happier about what has happen to VGK. They took the LTIR loop hole to another level and it bit them back.

Agreed on the moldy nights. I root against them at all times.

They truly IMO, had the most rigged expansion draft and process ever. Talk about fast-tracking a new franchise to become elite from nothing. Only other team that has had this sort of facilitated BS is the Edmonton Oilers but the latter can't help but shoot themselves in the foot.

It would sure be nice if we could end the regular season with a win, not on a 4 game losing streak.

It's just crazy to me how shitty they've become since coming in to the league so hot and getting to the finals. Backstabbing Fleury still was the most mind boggling part to me when he literally carried them to the SC Finals his first year. Now they have Lehner who is hurt all the time. It really is amazing just how badly they've handled the last couple years. But I agree, you get what you deserve

Dude, McPhee bent every rule and made so many shady backroom deals it was insane. And then they change all those rules and plug all the holes so Seattle doesn't have a prayer in hell of drafting a good team and paid way more money to become a franchise. Talk about F'd up!
If there is truly one team in this situation though, to quote the immortal words of @Moog-Type-S, the VGK are in absolute "cap hell".

Speaking of Kings, they draw the Oil...which really is a gift to Edmonton. The question is, can the Oilers get past their ineptitude in the playoffs?

Flames -- coached by Darryl Sutter -- resemble the Kings that won a couple of Cups...with a bit more scoring punch. It will be a good series...

@ Oilers...
Wow, Mike Smith's gaffe was...yeah...WTFBBQ.
And Edmonton's relying on the PP again? They do realize refs swallow their whistles in the playoffs, right? But, if you take away the PP gifts, the Kings outscored Oil 4-1 at even-strength...how is that even possible with a squad with McJesus and Drysightoe?

Funny, I was wondering last night where Alain & Torts were. I knew Philly fired A.V. guess this shows he was not the problem.

Yeo fired as coach of Flyers, went 17-36-7 after replacing Vigneault
Philadelphia missed playoffs for second straight season

83 shots, 25 in the second. Igor was amazing. We allowed waaaay too many quality chances and without Igor, it would have been 12-3 in regulation.
Hopefully, they learn from this and correct it or it will be back to old times.
What say you on the disallowed goal? I'm partisan but feel Dumoulin made it impossible for Kakko to not hit DeSmith.

Personally, I think the goal should've counted but it really could've gone either way.
