Remember when I said how I couldn't stand how Keith went after people and took dirty cheapshots and Yummy went balistic? I do...

That was dirty and selfish. Hopefully it doesn't cost the hawks in the playoffs

If the League is smart, it should to teach Keith a lesson.

At least 1-2 games INTO the playoffs. I would think a 7 game ban? Dunno, hearing is this afternoon.

It's a phone hearing but only because he waived his right to an in person hearing. Should be 10, he knew exactly what he was doing.

Hawks and Keith duck a giant bullet...only 6 games.

Put it this way: Coyle is no saint for what he did prior to Keith's golf-swing. Similar to what happened against Carter in the playoffs, the other player took advantage of a situation when Keith was "vulnerable". So, in that case, Carter clearly slashed Keith's barehand. Bad temper resulted.

Coyle's play was similar. Keith was on his way down and Coyle just decided to add some sauce to that by giving the Hawk a bit more to it. Keith got enraged...golf-swing.

End of the day, the retaliation ALWAYS gets caught. And Keith should be way smarter than that. He should be thanking his lucky stars that he only got 6. Hawks have ZERO chance in the playoffs without him.

Give me St. Louis any day of the week over the other options.

Dallas or LA without Keith? Yikes.

Why...? They are sorta like the Central-division's version of the Sharks: Chokers in the playoffs.

I just realized the Bruins had an afternoon matinee game today. Apparently, the the Bruins themselves have yet to realize that they are playing an afternoon matinee game today.

Well, maybe those 2 quick goals woke them up?

Yeast Mode probably heard all the McJesus and Gotonotbehere talk and said in his Drago voice "Enough. I will finish this."

...and scored a pile of points the last 2 games.

True. But of all the teams I think they have had the best record vs us the past few seasons. Always a tough matchup vs them.

There seems to be a massive looming issue either in the dressing room, on the ice, or both. They are a fucking disgrace. Those pieces of shit don't deserve to play in a brand new arena, next year. There are a few who pull their weight, but they can't make up for the rest of the bums. 4 #1 picks and they couldn't muster a single fucking goal against Calgary?

That means he would have missed, what, 5 playoff games? That's a bit steep.

With how uneven the suspensions are, go figure. I suspect, Keith would've received 10 or upwards if Coyle was injured.

How many games would Torres or Rinaldo get for the same thing? It sure as hell wouldn't have been 6. Marty McSorely got banned indefinitely for an intentional stick to the head.

Right, but Keith isn't known to be a dirty player who does this kind of stuff all the time. I think he had, what, one other incident? Torres snorts a few lines and goes out on the ice looking for trouble. I'm not justifying his actions, but I think missing even one playoff game is a big deal.

Why can't the NHL just use a set-games template? Seriously.

So, first time no-no-play, gets you X games. If it is a repeat of the same no-no-play, you get X+Y games. Such random assignment of games is stupid and just attracts criticism and head-shaking.

I mean, I certainly don't get paid as much as these NHL people but you can't tell me the science behind suspensions is SO complex that I need 2345315 PhDs and a degree in rocket science? WTF. It's common sense!

It might not be a bad idea. I think the NHLs justification is that not every player is the same. Is it right? The legal system isn't much different, is it? People's past always seems to influence what happens to them.

Twice before. A few years back, he had pretty vicious hit on one of the Sedins. And then, in the playoffs against Carter, he lost his mind too.

So, this would be his 3rd overall. Keith has a temper that can be used against him...FWIW, all 3 incidents were with Keith retaliating. Still he should know that the retaliation ALWAYS gets caught.

Okay...well, hang on...sports has penalties. If your play is a no-no in the game and not "serious" enough to warrant a suspension, the game itself takes care of that disciplinary aspect.

If the no-no play is SERIOUS enough to get thrown out of the game...and immediately crosses into the suspension discussion, that's where I think the formula needs to come into play.

Regardless of past, it should be X games for whatever no-no play was serious enough to warrant a suspension. Period. If the player is a repeater, even from 5 years ago, does not matter: it's X+Y. Easy! And if 3rd time repeater, X+Y+Z...and so on.
