I defended him when he hit shoulder on shoulder, took the body, and when he wasn't called for penalties, but that was by far the worst hit I've ever seen him land, and I've been watching him play for 15 years. He didn't target the shoulder or the body whatsoever, and followed straight through the head. Maatta is definitely out for the rest of the year, and it did not look good. I expected Orps to get 1 game, 3 seems excessive, but it's nice to see the NHL actually suspend someone for a headshot for a change.

The Letang hit did not seem that terrible at full speed but when they slowed it down and it was really bad. Didn't he also already have a suspension this year or last year as well so that is going to make him a repeat offender. I can't see him getting anything less than 2 games if that is the case.

Entertaining game...Caps made it interesting but the Pens NO-NAME goalie had a nice game.

I definitely won't be surprised if he gets a game, it was borderline. He hit the shoulder but also caught the cheek. At least he didn't follow through the head with an elbow
This is a bummer but expected unfortunately. You can't make the playoffs one year and fall so flat on your face the following year and expect to still have a job. I always have liked Harlety as a coach though.
On another note, I hate NBC. Why the fuck do they book games back to back on NBCSN when EVERYONE knows the first game will roll into the second game's time slot??? Plus they said viewers in Dallas and STL will get NBCSN changed to their game when it started... NOT. Only when Lightning/Isles game was in intermission, then back to the Lightning/Isles game. Thankfully it was a quick OT but if it went 1 or 2 whole OT periods.. we here in Dallas or STL wouldn't have even been able to watch our own teams play. I know they said they were showing that game on NHL Network but who the fuck has that? Our cable provider doesn't even offer it.
