Hate to say it but I wasn't surprised by the outcome..... Hawks just did not seem sharp this year, it was a question of consistency. Most of the time, they seemed to be lacking in any number of strengths. Of course I would have liked to see some magic force emerge and seal some victories but it just didn't happen. Also, what a good team STL is, good for them.
Going into any postseason, the Blackhawks aren't looking for experience anymore as they have plenty of experience. Of the three possible outcomes I would rank them as such:
1) Stanley Cup Championship
2) Early exit
3) Fruitless deep run
At this point, it's better for Chicago to exit early if they don't win the Cup. The team has so many miles on them.
By contrast, the Stars or the Preds can benefit a lot more from a deep Cup run.

Losing Saad, Sharp, and Oduya -- especially the latter as the #4 d-man has shown. Although, the 3rd line of Ladd, Kruger, and Hossa was pretty nice the last couple of games. Too bad Ladd will likely move on with his asking price.
For the Hawks to be successful and even compete with the elite, they need to find a way to patch up their blueline. TVR is nice but not ready for top 4 duties and well, we saw the ongoing turnstile between Gustafsson, Rosie, and Rundblad in the 3rd pairing. So, if Chicago can find a way to address their 2nd pairing with Hammer and have TVR platoon with the previously named trio, Chicago may have another shot down the road.
Anyhow, the series I'm looking most towards is Caps/Pens...that should be an epic series...probably as entertaining as the Blues/Hawks.
And hopefully, Ducks can move on and they can then take on a Sharks team that has looked good. Mind you, I think vanquishing the Kings wasn't that big of a deal...I don't think they are as good as some people think.

But, in hindsight, even if Chicago got as far as the Final...I doubt they would have the depth or gas left to take out whoever represents the East. Toss-up between Caps and Pens.
Bolts would've been my favorite out East but with their injuries...I just don't see them getting past the Eastern Conference Final.

I've traveled a lot, but don't know that town from Adam but heard its actually not too bad. I mean its not as cool as Detroit, but then very few places are.

It's really not bad, and always near the top of the "Most liveable cities" lists. I've had that up since I joined the site and never bothered to change it, its just sarcasm. I believe my interests are still listed as "your mom" as well

Should be great tonight. Pens/Caps, baby! I have no vested interest as to who wins...on PAPER, the Caps appear to be stronger. But, the Pens were impressive against the Rangers.
So, it should be a great series.

Pens were ok, Rangers did not really make an appearance/sucked. It will be great to not care/root for both teams to get the ish kicked out of them.
