I got rear ended in SSF Friday night. I was stopped at a lighted intersection but the lights weren't working. I stopped like everyone else but the guy behind me didn't see me in time. The intersection was just around a blind turn.
He was cool about it though. Apologized and even shook my hand and asked if I was OK. I was a bit shaken up but so far just stiff neck and shoulder and some soreness. Hopefully that's all.
I definitely need a new trunk and might need a new rear bumper.
The other driver's van seemed worse off. He was even leaking coolant. He had to drive to Vacaville too.
Anywho, anyone recommend any shops they trust near SF or San Mateo area? Thanks!

Okay, here's the scoop..
Last week, someone with an AE86 got his Equip's stolen in San Jose as well. I seen his ad about it on Craigslist and hit him up. Let him know my situation and that I would keep an eye out for them.
He emailed me today and let me know something popped up on Craigslist. Got another email letting me know his friend was already on his way to check them out. Gave him my # and was contacted by his friend. Let him know what to look for just incase they were actually mine. The ad was fishy. They were asking $500 or trade for Rotas!!?! The offsets and tires were just so incorrect. Posting a Falken as a 195/45 when they don't even make that size. Posting a 15x9 -25 when WORK doesn't even make them. So I wait about 20 minutes and the guy gives me a call to let me know that the wheels were mine!! He said he was getting them and would meet up with me. A few minutes later he called me up and said he had them.
When he met up with the seller, he questioned the accuracy of the ad. They were suppose to be brand new as well as have Falkens. The seller just said he posted a picture he found online. He told the seller that he could probably tell him the actual offsets of the wheels without even looking at them. So he did and asked the seller how could he know that? The seller looked shocked. The guy started taking them from the sellers truck they were in and loaded them into his vehicle. The guy asked the seller where he got the wheels from? The seller said a friend. The guy asked if he could talk to the friend. The seller said the friend lived a few blocks away. The guy asked if the seller would call his friend and ask him to come over. The seller said they could go to the friend's house and he could follow. The guy told the seller that he would do that but it going to write down the license plate of the truck. He told the seller straight up that these wheels were stolen. So when he finished loading the last wheel, the seller jumped in his truck and split!!
I met up with him some time later and got the wheels back. Took them to a friends house though.
I already had a police report and called to give the info I got. Even with a license plate #, description of the person, and his cell phone #, they wouldn't do a thing about it. So I am trying to figure this out.
I would think I would be happy I got my stuff back, but I'm stressed out more.. Kind of worried they will be back. Just have to wait and see.

Crazy stuff. Good thing the situation didn't escelate. Glad to hear that you were able to get your wheels back! Not many people get to do that.
I know you are a bit stressed, but I'm sure they are just as stressed or even more because you have their information, license plate number and cell number. So I think they will stay away from the situation since you have things that can incriminate them.
They might be hiding at this point, hopefully they learned their lesson.

surprised sjpd wont do anything about it? the last i know, they are the toughest on convictions and will do anything to bust a case..... keep bugging them and following up with them aabout it..they will have a detective on the case especially when there are others who got their shit jacked from the same people.... for all you know, they might be on it already....sjpd is the toughest county..next is san mateo.....anyways, congrats on gettin them back.... and you know you can get the persons info easily since you have so much info on them already... *hint*...you can find out where they live easily
.. good luck
.. good luck
^I think you meant Santa Clara County. They are like 90%+ conviction rating.
Nice! Do you happen to have any information after you got them back?? Hit me up through PM if you do.

That is hella good news Dennis!! Kinda surprised that coppers aren't willing to even do any follow up...anyways, glad to hear that the wheels are back where they belong...good sh*t mang!!
... I DIDN'T KNOCK ON NOBODY!!
Oh god I regret knowing these lines...
Good story. My brother told me his friends rims stolen in SF too and couldn't do anything about it. But glad the guy had a V and split as soon as he could. Rims back better than no rims... and I don't know technicality why you can't get them.
