Yeah, the car looks good. Have you looked into just ordering new springs from TEIN? Cheaper than buying a new set.

yea ive thought about it but i need to fix one problem first before going ANY lower... the control arm tapping the inner shock tower. if i can fix that, then once these tires wear out, i'll go with narrower tires and drop it more.

wow, nice pic justin, you got more?

So my mom was so surprised about how the BMW took the hit that she's considering getting my sister another one. Possibly a E90/E92.. 335 hopefully.

So the update is, the car is now at APEX and the estimated damage was 4kish.

My mom was wondering is there any way the insurance company can pay us the 4k instead of fixing the car?

hella micro de projector fogs installed...

custom made a little bracket to secure my HID ballasts to. left one is the 35w for the fogs, right one is the 55w for the retro

cutting, test fitting, cutting, test fitting...

one down one to go...

side profile...

light 'em up!

took me like 6hrs! had to run the wire harness nice and clean like i like it. had to modify the harness (fog light harness) to power my HID ballasts by cutting off the generic fog light connectors and installing a 9006 pigtail to it to allow connection to the ballast. ran the wires for the switch inside. for the time being, the fogs are triggered with the low beams, i'll find another wire to trigger the fogs at a later time so that i can have them on without the lows. cutting the bumper correctly took forever too, must have spent at least an hour on each side cutting, shaving, drilling, etc.

sorry for the cell phone pics. cant wait to take the car out tonight to see the difference. i tried pointing the fogs a little outward (maybe 5-7 degrees) since i already get pretty good coverage in front of the car with the tsx projectors.

i had to mount it on the bumper. mounting on the reinforcement would have made cutting the holes much much harder to do... why do you say not on the bumper?

i do have a long 15"+ steel bar like that one i used for the ballast holders on the other side of the bumper where i mounted the fogs. the brackets for the fogs are mounted to the bumper and the hardware goes through the holes i drilled in the top of the lower grill into the hole i drilled into the metal bar and then nuts ontop with locktite.

i still need to make a few adjustments to the aiming on them so next time i take the bumper off, i'll take pics and show you what i did. im assuming you said "not the bumper" for security reasons? i realized as i was installing them on the bumper that it'd be pretty easy for a thief to take a sharp razor blade and cut my bumper and take the fogs so i came up with a little reinforcement technique on the spot and after a trip to home depot and an extra hour of work, they would literally have to cut out my entire lower grill to take the fogs off.

Well mounting it on the bumper makes it unstable...like when ur on the road n u hit little bumps n cracks here n there...it will make it wobble up n down n what not...giving it that flickering effect if I was to see u in my rear view

mine dont bounce because of how the bumper reinforcment sits behind the bumper. each projector is held on with 3 bolts and nuts on the other side of the bumper. when i put the bumper on the car, the 3 nuts rub against the bumper reinforcement thereby making its pretty darn stable.

just find out exactly where its hitting and cut a hole. if youre worried about the structural integrity being compromised, weld in a ring.

Or weld in a new plate with the proper curve to keep the arm from hitting. Then, fill in the seams with the welder.

here how i plan on preventing the theft of my expensive fog lights...
i fabricated the following reinforcement bar and have it bolted to the bumper in 6 places + the 6 bolts that go through the bar that are for the fog light brackets.

red stuff is locktite and yes i know its purpose is not to be ontop of the nut, i put plenty on the threads too, i just got a little squeeze happy with the bottle, haha.

all done...

my crappy cell phone cant take very good pics so this is it for now...
low beam tsx projectors with 55w 6000k HIDs only...

now with the Hella Micro DE fogs and 35w 5000k HIDs...

side of my cutoff, TSX projectors only...

with fogs...just a little bit more light but its far more significant that i thought it would be, especially on dark roads and the round freeway on/off ramps.

im a maybe for this wednesday lito, dennis and kiran, will let you know.

Added the bug to my insurance...my insurance went down $14 per yr lol...which means not only am i paying a cheaper insurance...im getting free insurance just by paying insurance on the TL...both cars r under liability n comp...bug = full of win!!!

it was my day off n had alot of time to work on my car 2day...as well as snapped a few pix behind my house...

did the wheels with red chalkboard paint the other day...came out ok kuz they didnt have red chalk paint in spray...so i had to resort to sponge brush...the wheels r just temporary anyways...

but i used black chalkboard spray for this...n brushed on the red...i like it...

I thought I seen them on there.

I think I recall another way to do them too. If you go to a swap meet and find a matching pair, I think you can take the in to the DMV so you can use them.

Hey Dennis, how's the xB looking? Is it still looking pretty good since Wekfest? I was thinking about detailing my car soon and when I thought of it, I became curious to see how the xB was doing. I hope it's still looking great!
