Haha with sketchup...just trying something new since I'm already good with CAD. i already screwed up on the build - accidently glued the top piece
I was gonna have the top half detachable (So I can lift the top amp off along with the half and be able to get to the other amps tuning knobs).. had to improvise with some plates so now its only the middle piece thats detachable.

Bolting this shit down to the frame so its gonna be a bitch to take out in event it does get stolen again

BTW kayran I know you have hella illegal shit.. do you have Autodesk REVit 2009-2011?

Sup norcal!

has anyone ever got into an accident where someone hit u from behind and you hit the person in front?

My sister just got into a car accident just right now on CA-17. SHe made a full stop while coming down 17 and the person behind came way too fast and hit her from behind. SHe drives a 2001 330i and the damage in the rear was just a scratch(according to her) and the Honda that hit her from behind has a really messed up front end. The car that she hit in front after the impact has a scratch too I believe(in front of her was also a BMW).. This jsut goes to show how solid BMW"s really are..

Afterthe accident, they pulled over and waited for the cops to come and took a police report.

But ANYWHO.. She has no injuries, but she does has a pretty bad headache right now and probably wont be able to make it to her night class tonight. Should she go to a chiropractor ASAP? I suggested that she should.

SO..

What should be her next step? If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!

TIA

-Donald.

not always. when i wrecked my 91 accord many years ago... it was a 5 car pile up in front of union landing on 880 and the 4th car was blamed because according to all the reports the people gave... the 4th car hit the 3rd, then the 2nd then the 1st and then the 5th car hit the 4th. so 4th car got the blame for starting the chain reaction.

basically, dude in the back pay's for everything!

That's really good to know..

She's gonna need a new front and rear.

Will most likely be hiring a lawyer. I did some research on USAA Auto insurance and it looks like they are a company with a lot of issues. Don't think she's going to have the time to deal with this BS since she is at school at the same time..

Can anyone recommend any good lawyers? My friend down here has been jipped by the lawyer here along with the Dr. and the car shop (DTMAutohaus). All working together to juice the shit out of the other insurance...

The individual who caused the accident is responsible for all repairs and injuries. She should definitely get herself taken care of as she's more important than any piece of property. She should also let her insurance know what happened and get a copy of the police report for her record and her insurance's record. There may be no need to hire a lawyer as technically it's her insurance company's job to contact the other insurance company to settle the claim. It's only when your insurance deems that you're at fault when you'll need to get your own lawyer to fight out the case in a civil court, AFAIK.

My sister got hit by the Muni in S.F. and our insurance took care of it for us. We just had to make sure we provided the evidence (i.e. the car, info, etc.) and they took care of the rest of the claim as far as making a settlement with the insurance of the Muni. In the end, it was deemed that the Muni driver was at fault (like it should have been) and my sister got a check for the slightly above KBB value of her car.

Good luck with that Donald.

The other insurance is supposedly shady. I read their reviews online and people were saying they had the hardest time getting in contact with them.

Thanks bro! How's the car and everything? How's life after graduation?

As for contacting our own insurance company about this, doesn't this just mean that we are claiming it through our own insurance company first and then our insurance company going to get the money out of the other insurance company?

People online are saying they have the hardest time contacting the other insurance company(USAA). A few said hire a lawyer because they were really hard to deal with.

I guess it is a small insurance company, so they may be harder to deal with. If it was Farmers/Triple A/ geico or something big like this, it'd be much easier..

My friend just got into an accident and he hired a lawyer. The dude that hit him also happened to have some shitty ass insurance company all the way out in Florida...

They're still trying to contact the other guy's insurance company, so he's doing through his first, while the lawyer he hired is still trying to pursue the other guy's insurance...

Such a huge hassle. The reason why I am suggesting her hiring a lawyer is because I have seen it with my own eyes what he is going through right now. It seems too much work and for her to get out of the way to get this fixed on her own.

I haven't talked to her yet, but last night when I asked her, she said she has pains in her neck and had a headache.. Gonna call her today to see what's up with her.

Thanks for the help. will keep you guys updated on the situation as best I can.

On a sidenote, can anybody recommend me a lawyer?

dammit, firestone stopped listening to customers now they only do factory spec alignments. sucks. before they would do whatever you wanted... thats why i bought the lifetime alignment from them a few years ago.

now i gotta pay someone to get an alignment each time, bummer. is $90 a good price? the place isnt just some random shop, its a tuner shop with nice cars... not the average car garage. its called Motorsport Techniques

haha no, i didnt just hear about them. ive known about that place for longer than i've had my car and i've had the car for 7 years now. i live 1-2 miles away.

anyways, lito hooked me up with a shop in san jose, i just got back from the alignment.. $60 they had an in-ground alignment rack so my front lip wasnt even touched

set the camber at -2 all around. for some reason both passenger side wheels look like they poke out more than the drivers side, its a slight difference... something only visible when looking really close at both sides.

pics tonight sucks that it rained today because the rims and the car are kinda dirty now and i dont feel like washing it. a proper photoshoot is already scheduled for May 22nd at treasure island with a few of my accord friends... im sure there will also be pics from the Eibach Honda meet im going to on May 16th in socal.

Eh, life could be better with a better job, LoL! I'm still looking for a better job but Staples will have to do for now, haha.

In a sense, yeah, you're "making a claim" with your insurance company. They'll cover the damages to take care of you immediately and then follow up on the other insurance to get that money back. Keep in mind this is all without affecting your premium on your insurance. The good part about it is that they will take care of the legal work for you, especially if you aren't at fault. The problem with hiring a lawyer is that comes out of your pocket (of course it varies from lawyer to lawyer; some require up front payments, etc.). It would certainly be the safer option to have a lawyer though so it's really a toss up.

I've never dealt/heard with USAA so perhaps hiring a lawyer is a necessary step in getting this resolved. I hope your sister gets well soon and gets some attention to her injuries. Let us know of any updates!

$60 is a pretty good price! I actually purchased the Firestone lifetime alignment as well but they can't really do much with my rear suspension due to my rear lower tie bar (or so they say).

I think I'm going to do a photoshoot of my own as well once the car's freshly polished for the spring/summer/rest of the year. I'm just waiting for the weather to get much better and it seems after today it should, according to TWC.

Hella Micro DE. they're not a retrofit... they're standalone foglights designed like a projector.

i literally cant go any lower in front, i've already pulled one perch off so this is as low as it'll go. from a side profile view, the car sits level meaning all the tires tuck equally. i would prefer to have a forward rake but i cant anymore unless i raise the back up which i dont want to do.

the fogs are far from "cheap" they're built solid and perform even better. sure there may be prettier options out there but non will function better than these. nice wide even beam and a decent cutoff. i may try to mod the shield inside to get a sharper cutoff line.

Car looks good Mr.LED. I was surprised when you said something about the alignment rack not hitting your front lip..

I thought you were slammed, lol. If you want to go lower, i suggest you get something else than the teins...

i would also like the "leveled" look...but my car is just like urs...the rear fender is lower than the front making it tuck more...now that being said...raked is the only way to go...

on another note...got a flat on the freeway going 80...drove 3 miles bak home...almost 2 miles on the freeway...then 1 mile in town...just had to bring the car bak home...lol...tire is shot...rim is still perfect...

there goes $$ for the bug...fucking tires...FAIL..

on a happier note...i finally get to DMV 2morow to get the bug title transferred to my name...
