Nah, oh, I don't think I posted pics of the damage. They messed the rears up pretty good. I need to get the faces refinished. I'll post up pics.

 

A little beat up because they ran my rears on disc brakes. They are made for drum brakes. As I thought, the lug area was pretty bad. The rear tires were also rubbed like a mofo. Front damage was minimal. Seem like just the lug area got messed up.














If the people browse this forum and see my car, these wheels are not at my house! I left them somewhere else until this shit dies down. They are going to have to be refinished as well.

OKAY, Here's more on this mess!! You would think finding them was enough, but I am still going to help out the guy who found mine!

I got info on a "team" from someone that posted my wheels being stolen on a blog. From getting more info, I found someone from this "team" lives fairly close to me. From reverse phone searches and address searches, I found one common last name that linked the meet up point where the guy got the wheels and the confirmed address that this "team" person lives out of.

On the way to pick up my xB tonight, I decided I would go by the address of this "team" person. As I drove up, I seen a tow truck, cop car, AND the truck that had my wheels!!!!!! Since family was with me, I decided not to stop. I called up the guy who got my wheels back and let him know the deal. He was nearby and stopped by to talk to the police. Looks like they have been trying to nab these guys for a minute. Up to the point we got my wheels back, these guy have been answering their phone. After he got my wheels back, the phone wasn't answered anymore. I guess the police were cleaning out that house of stolen parts left and right. The guy who was trying to sell my wheels apparently ran off.

It's not over, but things are moving in the right direction!!!

 

they originally stole 3, couldnt get the last. so i assumed it wasnt worth the hassle to find a 4th one so they returned it.

has anyone siphoned or emptied their gas tank (other than driving it around) in their 2G CL or TL?

I think I tried once and the hose wouldn't go down far enough to get wet -- there may be a screen or window that the gas seeps through.

I started the TL up after 2-3 months maybe, and it was starting up OK, but a few minutes later the tach was wavering between 1 and 2.5K back and forth consistently.

Since the car has been sitting outside, I'm blaming this on old gas thats been sitting in the tank, condensing, and now there is water in the tank. FAIL.

Any ideas how to empty the tank?

Getting to the fuel pump is not realistic with the trunk done up

 

sounds like your iacv (idle air control valve, i think) is clogged/dirty. mine did that too out of the blue one day last year. i'd tell you how to fix it but i didnt do it, i just took it to dad and he took care of it, lol. i think its somewhere on the throttle body.

I believe that all cars past '98 have a screen in the gas tank feeder tube.
I had a similar problem with my tach and it required a full cpu reset.

 

dude that sux...but a cpu reset isnt as bad as the motor going out...

bout the Expendables movie...its suppose to come out in August...eventho the vid said april...

thanks. i was just thinking this earlier when driving around. it only becomes problematic after revving it past some rpm. So then i started thinking maybe the TB is getting stuck somewhere.

Guess i'll be taking it off, cleaning the EGR, and IACV when it suns up later this week. funny thing is i bought a new battery last Friday, after having it die 3-4 times since its never driven.

Once all good and fixed i'll be sure to keep both motors in rotation

 

oh yeah, and i talked to the local shell guy i goto. said that its very unlikely that its condensation because of all the additives they add in gasoline these days. he said even 6 months wouldn't build condensation.
