Thanks again Jorge for a ride to the grocery store, hopefully you won't be too terribly sore after your first day of working out.

I might be a little fatter this spring

So, I thought I was going to sell my switchblade key because I called around and was told about $200 ($39 trip fee, $169 starting) to get it cut and programmed. It seems all of the mom and pop locksmith shops all went away, now it's just some jamaican lady on all of the numbers I called.

Well, the sale didnt go through so it renewed my interest to find a good deal. I got my key cut today for free, and it will cost me $40 tomorrow to get it programmed.

Getting it cut was the part I was worried about. Any dumbass with the proper tools can program the remote for the car. I'm happy again. At least I got to drive it for a bit today. Threw some Stabil in it, and she is parked.

I did learn however that the "cart-charger" that i have doesnt have a trickle/maintanance chanrge option. It's got charge, super-charge, and charge-right-now-dammit settings. Nothing that is slow. Guess I will just run up to sears and buy some $20 special just for keeping under the hood of the car.

Hey Josh... what do you know about macbooks and ipods? My dads boss got one of each, but they are locked. Well, he's kind of looking for a cheap deal. so he may not want to pay the price for me to fix them both - so I may offer to give him his money back that he paid for them, and try to fix/reflash/reformat these myself. Think $100 is too much for both?

It's an 8 gig ipod touch, and I no nothing about the macbook, except the operating system is in spanish. Might buy a copy of OSX and reformat it. Ipod touch I think you can reflash to erase everything? Technically I would be buying these from my dads boss for $100, and I know he didnt steal them or anything, so I wouldn't feel so bad.

Isn't that the girl that said that all girls should do anal or something like that?

And Glow, if you get that machine and want to put a new OS on it, I need a family license (5 seats, $199) and a single license is $99, I'll sell you a license for $40. Also, depending on the model, I might be interested in picking it up from you myself (if you want to sell it).

well after much googling read:1 search
i found it
Okay, so it's possible the Internets tricked us into believing Anne Hathaway just loves anal sex. According to the blogosphere, in an upcoming issue of Esquire, Hathaway opens up about her love of anal sex, claiming it makes her feel "feminine in a very special way... every woman should try it, otherwise they miss out on something amazing."

But the kids at Defamer were just as skeptical as some of the ladies here at Scanner were, and contacted Esquire to get to the bottom (pardon the pun) of it. "Absolutely not true," Esquire spokesperson Rhett Usry told the blog. "There is no interview with Anne Hathaway at all in the upcoming issue of Esquire."

As representatives of the Internets, we'd like to apologize for getting your hopes up about Hathaway's love of anal sex. And now we ask you, who would you rather, the dirty girl who loves it[yes please] or the sweet, innocent pretty, pretty princess?

IT'S A LIE!!!

but goddamn she dresses well. her get smart wardrobe made me want to be a woman. or steve carrell, or a woman equivalent of steve carrell

anyway back on topic. i'm acing my classes but i'm pretty close to flat broke, woot

As for the reader, I usually just go and borrow one from autozone since they "rent them" for nothing (except deposit). What are you looking to get out of it? Sometimes I just buy stuff like that on an impulse.

Well, I figured out how to reflash the ipod touch yesterday. Those things are pretty sweet. It's cool that it has the wireless too, although it's not extremely practical to look at a 4 inch screen for the internet. But it's neat, and I can see the benefit of it from time to time.

Josh - as for selling the macbook, not sure about that. It's a G4 (not the new G5). Since I work on PC's, and the last apple I used was a IIe, I think it might be best if I hang onto it so I can familiarize myself with apple again. Not to mention that i have been looking for a cheap laptop just so I can have some wireless connectivity, and this will work for that purpose. That way I can watch football, and have ESPN running in the background for updates and such. Or porn and football. That's always a good combo too j/k

Anything else been going on lately? Been kind of quiet around here as it's getting to be that time of the year.

Well, let me know if you are going to update it to Leopard. I have Tiger on mine and each license is $99, or if you get a family pack you get 5 licenses for $199. I would like to recoup part of that $199 by selling some of the licenses I don't need since I only have 2 macs right now.

Random note:

Some guy lives at my building who I believe is the son of a guy that owns a ton of dealerships around here, so he periodically brings in super nice cars. Usually they are just nice ass Porsches of which I never know what they are because I dont know them well. He has one here now that is a red one with just "Turbo" on the back of it... looks sick.

Anyways, when we first move in he parked a Lambo near my car which was cool to see, but I havent seen that in a couple months. 2 days ago I pull in and there is an F430 next to his Porsche. Soooo noice!

I should first see if its there today. The guy is in and out of our place all the time at really weird hours. When he had the lambo, there was all kinds of "Lambo spotted" threads on MNSC where I read that someone said the guy owns condos all over the place in the city. That probably explains why hes always in and out.

At the very least, I can show you the pictures I took of it. the 3rd time I saw it parked there I had my camera with me and couldnt resist.

That's ok, I am taking the bus out to Edina, and it'll take me about an hour in each direction, so I will not be home until 6:30 or 7 anyway. Good thing that today is my day off from working out...

Sorry I haven't been keeping up on the forums guys, I been busy getting parts together for my new project (71 datsun).

Josh, I would like to start working out and putting bad stuff outta my diet but I need a quick lunch sometimes and nothing fast is good for me.

What do you recommend I should eat on a regular basis that I might not get sick of that is fast and cheap?

I would rather a cold meal than a hot/warm meal btw.

Salad won't stay fresh in a mini-fridge so, that is outta the question.

I need to start working out, maybe i'll do 20 situps everynight before I go to bed.

Try Subway, I used to eat there all the time when I didn't have the option of eating food I cooked myself. You do have to make certain that you are not getting those chips, cookies, etc added on, and you don't want any sauce that looks creamy. You get one of their 'under 6 grams of fat' sammiches and put that shit on there and you can forget about 6 grams of fat, the sauces have 6 grams of fat per BITE.

Your best bet is to make Tuna sammiches, or cold cuts, but go easy on the mayo, go with mustard instead. Cut fried food out, no fries, potato chips, etc. Basically, if you pick up your food and there is a grease stain on the plate, it's not good for you in any way, shape, or form.

Another thing that you could do if you HAVE to go out is to order the food you want, with a box on the side. As soon as they put the food in front of you, put half in the box and put the box on the seat next to you so that it is out of sight. Put that in the fridge and it is now dinner or tomorrow's lunch. You'll also save a bit of cash because of this too, one meal becomes two!

Keep in mind that this is not something that you can realistically implement in a single day and just move on with it, I am still working my way into it, but it does make a HUGE difference to the way you feel.

Does that mean Monte Cristo's are out of the question?

I used to eat at Subway quite a bit. Not sure what happened to that. One of my favorite subs there is the Sub Club. It's on the skinny menu, but it's good as hell. Throw some green peppers, onion, jalapeno's, and a little salt/pepper and you're good to go.

I started eating wraps at my work. We have a full cafeteria, and a little bistro that has soups and sandwhiches. I started eating wraps to avoid the carbs, and it also doesn't fill you up as much as eating a hoagie (they were thick ones too - think Jimmy Johns)

Adam I work right next to you so were in the same boat.

Try Erberts and Gerberts. Its right down the road from you. Their stuff is pretty tasty and not bad for you either, especially if you get a sub and a cup of water like I always do. Its on par with Subway... And they typically have my sub made in about 1-2 min after ordering.

When I needed to get in shape for the beach I also got cold sandwiches from Rainbow Foods a lot. They also are not bad and pretty cheap. The only bad part is that the checkout lines can take a while during lunch hour.

Both places are located in the same complex:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sadd...43602&t=h&z=15
Those direction are a bit off because "Revere Ln" must be new, and isnt on the map. The places are in that parking lot to the right of "B"

Also... another thing I do is keep heathy choice soup in my drawer for some of the days I forget to pack a sandwich from home. 1 can is a small meal, and tastes shitty cuz they leave out alot of the sodium... but realisticly youre not going to starve to death. I did it today and I'm super hungry now, but I just remind myself of how survivorman can live days on just eating a scorpion and some juice from inside a cactus. Even tho my stomach says I'm hungry, its still plenty of fuel for the day.

Ok, Monte Christo's are totally out. Even if I were not trying to lose weight, I would have passed on one of those grease-laden things.

Be careful when it comes to wraps, you are giving up a few carbs (maybe) but tortillas have a lot more fat in them than a slice of bread does.

I am also fond of the Tuna Creations that have tuna steaks in a pouch, I will just pop that pouch and munch down that tuna steak. Good for a meal in a pinch, and it is only $3 for the whole meal! Protein meal replacement shakes are also great for a quick meal in a pinch and they are only something like $3 each if you have a GNC nearby.

At which point your entire office starts looking around all confused and says "why do I smell tuna?"

I used to hate when people would eat those pouches during class at college. It would stink up the whole room... or while studying at the library. If you hate tuna, it sucks. If you like tuna, it makes you hungry, which sucks.

Hey man, if I have to smell their hot wings, they can deal with my tuna. Hot Wings are the single thing that I can have almost any time and be cool with it. If that hot wing sauce didn't have a 1/2 pound of butter in it I wouldn't mind having them for every meal...

Slepy, what are you worried about? You weigh something like 4 pounds.

And yes, that is optimal, but the working world is not set up around a 6 meal a day agenda. Hell, it's hard enough to get one meal during the day...

Oh, and by the way, Macy's downtown is hiring for the winter.

Josh, dang, wings? Thats tough! If I smelled wings during the day I would start salivating and drool all over my projects.

I thought I had it rough... my company has free popcorn, and some guy cooks a bag every day at 11am for lunch. As soon as I smell it I switch to lunch mode.

The main issue I have with tuna is the fact that I can't eat it without mayo. I can't stand the normal taste of it.

I tried to bring tuna to work everyday but I forget, I even get too lazy to make it.

I love tuna sammiches but subway doesn't att mayo to theirs to they?

Is there a mayo that isn't too bad for you?

Erb's and gerb's is great, but the bread and the mayo i thought was bad for you?

Alright my original test was 8-19-08
Weight- 142
BMI- 21.6 kg/m^2
Bicep Strength- 60 lbs
Body Comp.- 17.2% fat

Test 11-17-08, pretty much 3 months
Weight- 149
BMI- 22.7 ("ideal" for me is 22.15)
Bicep Strength- 81 lbs
Body Comp.- 8.3% fat

I'm pretty happy with these results, and this has been after an off week. Although my flexibility is just embarrassing

I didn't say NO mayo, just go easy on it. You are better off getting the full bodied stuff instead of the 'lite' stuff since the light stuff usually has a lot of sugar to make up for the low fat content.

I am a fan of making tuna with mayo, mustard, worchestershirshirshire sauce, cayenne pepper, diced dill pickle, it tastes great. Sometimes I even add some Chulula to give it a little extra kick. I eat it on a saltine, or a slice of bread, or whatever I have handy.

Bread is okay if you get some whole grain stuff. I prefer this stuff called 'Extra Protein' or some stuff like that, it is whole grain and it has a lot of protein in it, so that helps keep you feeling full.

For the most part, eating healthy is common sense, if it looks like it has 9000 calories in it, it usually does. There are some things that you don't really think about though, and that is the calories that you are taking in with every soda, fruit drink (surprisingly not good for you...), beer, etc. A salad is only good for you if you don't get dressing (best part), and if you do, you should go with oil and vinegar and go easy on the oil. If you go to any American chain restaurant, prepare to eat your weeks worth of calories and fat in one sitting.

Absolutely eat quite often in small amouts and healthy. Fruits, protein hard boiled egg, cheese plain coldcuts. If you eat healhty and often you do bring your metabolism up, and your body burns more of that stored fat, you will lose wieght.

Mmmm... Chulula. I have a costco sized bottle of that stuff. It's nice and peppery and hot. But it's one of those "It's hot right now dammit but it tastes good", instead of the "It's still hot and I ate it 10 minutes ago"

Like the Hot BBQ and Asian Zing wings from BW3's

I'm down, who wants to come pick me up?

We can all meet at my place again, but if we do, you had better bring your quarters for the meters or carpool. I only have room for my two spots and one guest.
