alright guys, i started doing p90x cause i'm scrawny as hell. we wont be seeing eachother much till spring anyways. so by then, i'll have my car, Sophia, up in shape along with me. and we'll definitely be in business. i'll be checking in but between sore muscles, earning the paychecks and pre-pharm, i dont have a lot of free time.

happy holidays if i dont make it back in time for the seasons, though i doubt it

Fuck that P90X shit, come over here and work out with me, I'll get you ripped in no time. You always talk about how big I am, well, I was 6' 2" and 140 lbs when I graduated HS and most of the way through college. Wasn't until I got into bodybuilding that I really put on the muscle.

Chin ups are good, but you can get fit without them. Mostly the problem is that people can't do them and without the right equipment, you won't be doing them. 15 is also a high number for chin-ups, even at my fittest I was only doing 13-14 at a shot.

The workout I do is proven to add mass provided you eat right and get enough protein into your body. I picked it up from a buddy of mine that went on to become Mr Missouri for 2004. I have gotten really fat since I wrecked my motorcycle, and I have recently started getting back to it (although not very regularly) and have already dropped 20 pounds.

By the way, if you are new to weightlifting, please get a trainer! There is nothing worse for you or your body than for you to be doing an exercise incorrectly. Proper form is WAAAAAAAY more important than weight. If you are not doing the exercise correctly, you will not get the benefit, and you might injure yourself, thus delaying your training.

When I wrestled back in the day I could do 20-25 chin-ups. Now I think I could do 4, maybe.... ugg

When I did them a lot, my elbows went to shit. Any time I would do them my elbow would ache unbelievably for a couple hrs after. I never got it checked out, but stopped doing them and it went away. It was so bad at one point that doing 3-4 chin-ups would make it hurt.

I don't think that I can even hang from the bar yet, my shoulder is not yet strong enough.

On another note, Jermaine, you interested in coming over to talk carputer? I would come to you, but I understand it is a long walk from downtown to Bloomington. We could meet at the MOA (or anyplace on the train route) if that is closer for you?

I am thinking about starting to build one for the civic so that I have it ready when I get the car and it would then just be about installing it.

lol, no need to walk. I can come out your way, but it would have to be this weekend as i leave work @ 10pm these days. What direction are you going PC or MAC? Honestly i would suggest PC as it's much cheaper for parts. I'm available anytime this weekend.

You know I prefer Mac, but for cost concerns I could go PC. I'll start doing some research now so that I can have some good specific questions on Sat (?). By the way, you can park in my parking space so no risk of being towed.

I have a gym on the roof of my building. You are welcome to come over and work out with me, but I go around 4:30-5 every day. Also, plan on being here for over an hour, I do 35-45 minutes of weight lifting and then anywhere from 20-30 minutes of cardio.

Slepy, maybe you should just bring your car over here and leave it with me, you seem to be getting into a lot of trouble with it.

my mom is probably going to sell it.
i agreed when i got my license and the car to a series of rules that if broken meant my mom could take my license, sell my car, or do whatever she wants to.
getting a ticket was one of them. even if she lets me keep my license and car, i won't be able to afford the jump in insurance so i would have to take myself of the plan either way

Shit, that blows. But, I guess that is a good motivation for you to keep your ass in line. I would say you could use hourcar or zipcar, but you have to be 21 and not have any tickets to use those services...

Thats why you gotta drive smart. I look back at when I drove like an idiot when I first got my license and awhile after that which was only 2 years ago so not that long ago but I learned my lesson after gettin pulled over a few times and not getting a ticket.

she took it a lot better than i thought.
unfortunately since no one is hiring, i don't know how to pay for the ticket, let alone the insurance jump.

Dude that sucks man.

What i can say is, go talk to a hearing councelor dude. Thats what i did with my speeding ticket (70 in a 55) and i got whats called a 'defferal' so i just paid the ticket, and agreed not to get one for a year, and they wouldnt add it to my record.

Thats what i'd recommend.

I would also recommend looking for something waiting tables, but I don't know if you have to be 18 to serve alcohol in MN or not. I used to make a killing waiting tables at a friggin Chilis, and I worked at night so I could still go to class during the day.

Josh - Yea I always work till 7 at night. I could on the weekends. I would have to start off slow because I haven't worked out since high school and I have a heart condition. I want to shave some lbs, but can't figure out how since I have no time!

Let me know if you can help! I sit at a desk all day and sell shit, then when I go home I'm hungry and I want to eat. so I fuck myself because I eat before I sleep.

I'd love to help, when I was training for the FBI I helped a bunch of other recruits with their training and I really enjoyed it.

The first thing that I would say is to not eat within 3 hours of going to sleep, and that you need to get at least some cardio in to strengthen your heart (don't know about your condition though) and lungs. I would also recommend that you cut out of your diet anything that is fried and soda. I would say beer too, but we're taking baby steps here.

I am willing to bet that if you cleaned up your diet a bit that would help a bunch. I did and I dropped 20 pounds (some working out included). Adding in a little cardio (10-20) minutes per day is a good start to getting yourself into shape. You can also try doing some push-ups and sit-ups, they are incredibly good for you and build strength in a lot of different areas of you body. You also do not need a gym in which to do them.

If you start out with this stuff that is relatively easy and cheap to do, you will be ready to actually go to a gym soon and take it to the next level.

One thing that is important as your goal is to lose weight is to not pay much attention to the scale. Pay attention to the way your clothes fit and the way you feel, they are a much better gauge than any scale. Besides, if your body is not used to working out, you are going to be putting on muscle, and that weighs more than fat. Hell, I gained 5 pounds over the last couple of weeks, but my clothes are fitting more loosely.

I'm a computer geek.

In all seriousness, I am an IT Project Manager. I run a team of developers here in Minneapolis, and the other half of the team is in India.

As far as I know, we are always hiring. If you can write .Net code, I would love to hire you. We have entirely too few people here that can actually do work, and I am always trying to augment our team, but we cannot bring on any more contract workers, which means that you would have to be hired as an employee, and that means a potential long-term gig.

But, on the flip side, we pay more than most companies around here...

Well, there IS that...

You should have come out to Maxwell's, they had $0.25 wings and I was able to get 20 wings and a beer for $10. Conversely, you should have mingled at the building party, you could have met a lot of people that are not Target-ized and actually had a conversation or two that did not revolve around what the red retailer is doing now...

I was partially kidding, I dont mind target talk. Infact, I hear it so much I can actually contribute.

I dont think I could have handled wings last night. After the grumpys burger and fries I had so much grease that my stomach was starting to feel it. I've been tryin to cut out fried stuff so my stomach wasnt used to that much... but damn those fries are awesome. On the flip side, we went to bed at almost 1am the night before, so we passed out before 10 last night. I got almost 10hrs of sleep last night.

I was at the old Grumpy's (now Willy's) in Coon Rapids last night. I go there every Thursday for the meat raffle. I won some tomato basil chicken breasts, and $100 playing pulltabs. Woot!!
