I saw a blue RSX yesterday with a CF hood on it in Coon Rapids. Wonder if it was one of the guys at the meet this summer?

Ok... so I'm bored at work (what's new), and I found myself staring at my avatar for a couple of minutes. The longer I stared at it, the more it started to make me laugh. Now I'm bored at work, but I got this big shit-eating grin on my face.

Which also makes me think... do people really grim while eating turds? I guess I'll have to believe the saying.

Well wannabe, looks like we'll never get that heads up race, but when I get my civic, I'll give you a run in that. It's only about 1000 pounds lighter than your car, but it has 80HP less as well, it might be a good race.

How much do they weigh? You put heavy wheels on your car and your handling will suck.

from looking around i haven't been able to find any exact weights, although i saw some of there 19's and 20's weigh about 25lbs

not sure if thats good or bad, but i think if i got them, i would paint the silver black and then get them powdercoated, current rims are chipping

25 pounds is REALLY heavy. You want something under 20 pounds, or at least under a pound per inch.

So I'm assuming you sold the car elsewhere (as in not Azine). Hope you made out good?

Are we gonna have a new/old TL reppin for the twin cities, or is it some old guy that's gonna turn it into a granny car?

Congrats - you thinking next spring for the civic, or gonna get it right away? Or you could take the scooter until Honda has some zero financing or some crazy offer for new years.

We're going to see how long we can go before we have to buy a car. We are hoping to get at least until February. Every month that we wait before we buy a new car we can put almost $500 in a savings account, so $1K every two months. Not to mention that they are already offering me the Civic Si for $21 when MSRP is $22, Honda sold 32% fewer vehicles this October than last, and it is only going to get worse for them. I am willing to be that I will be able to pick one up, custom ordered in the color I want, for $18 when this is all said and done. Or, I could go a little nuts and get the Mugen Si for $24... :devilgrin

The guy that bought it was pretty cool, he loved all of the stuff I had done with it, and I don't think he is going to do a whole lot to it. I told him that he could get some headers and a high-flow cat to give it a bit more punch, and he didn't seem to care.

That six grand difference could be the sound of you 8000 revving a turbo LOL. Gratz on selling, did you mention AZine to him? And what's the status on wheels? Them and exhaust gone?

Problem with the Mugen is that it's just that, looks. For an additional $8K all you are getting is an appearance package. They supposedly tweaked the suspension a bit, but it is the same motor with the same power as in the stock Si. In Japan they made a Mugen RR that had the same HP as an S2K, but sadly that car did not make it to these shores. In 09 they changed the interior to make it more robust because of advcanced wear on the 07 & 08 interior, the Mugen has the 07 interior that feels cheap after being in an 09.

I looked in the rule book for SCCA and didn't find an entry in there for the Mugen, so I don't know if it is legal or not, or if it is, what class it would be in.

Wannabe, the law here is 50% on any window, but the cops only enforce the front windows in most cases. 50% is a complete waste of money, so pay the man and move on. Oh, and I am still talking about an autocross race, I'm not going to race on the street with all of the risks that entails, I have too much to lose.

We started talking about price and I said, for this price, you don't get X. He agreed pretty quickly to the price because, lets face it, it looks damn good as it is, and it SOUNDS damn good as it is. I don't think that he would have gone for the 18" wheels had I not had them on the car still.

Unless it got changed recently, as of march, the mugen is in GS
http://scca.com/documents/Fastrack/0...k-mar-solo.pdf

Word on the street is that its less of an autocrosser than the base civic SI. There are minor spring rate adjustments, but looks like alot of the handling is from altered dampening... which doesnt mean shit since shocks are a legal mod in stock. Its also ~100lbs heavier, and car n driver reported that it was a bit slower in the quarter (just a few tenths). IMO, probably so close performance wise that I would consider it only if it was equal price. Too me, looks are about 10% of new car consideration... so I wouldnt pay a few thousand more for it. For the same amount as a mugen SI, you could have a fully prepped base SI with front sway, exhaust, extra rims, tires and maybe even shocks. Guess which one I'd pick? haha.

Hey Josh, seriously, in a year or so, I might consider getting and extra car (which also would be occasionally autocrossed). My obviously decision would be to get something I'm familiar with which would be a 4th gen Vtec Prelude.. like a '95... which is also in GS :devilgrin. How much fun would that be?

$3-4000 for a 95 prelude, $500 for konis, $200 for some cheap light exhaust, and get some shitty pull off r-comps.... muahahaha.

I know if I got one, tho, I'd want to go back into DSP. I could even use my old number plates I still have.

With such a diverse group of cars lately, I have the start of an idea (without the knowledge of implementation)

Would any of you be interested in actually starting some kind of car club? Currently we all just kind of hang out on AZ which is cool by me. I just wonder if we started something a little more specific to the twin cities, rather than AZ - maybe we would hang out with more G's, Honda's, VW's and such?

Let me know what you guys all think. I'm not sure that I'm looking for a "Weekly meeting / $$ for dues / rules" type of car club. But something would be nice. Even if we all could get AZ stickers so we could recognize people, but we all know that isn't going to happen due to the lack of stickers.

Am I just being bored at work, or you think this might be possible? Perhaps meet the first Saturday of every month or something for some buffalo wild wings? Just make it uniform so that people know "Oh - next Saturday I will be busy for a few hours, but I can hang after that". I think that's our problem now is just the planning.

i liek that idea glowder.
and wannabe, set up an appointment to get the ticket revoked or whatever, and the person will probably lower the price. i just went in and told the guy i had 50%, and that i didn't know it would be over the limit, and he dropped it from 135 to 75, which is the legal lowest he could charge me.. it was well worth the hour of my time.
haha, i actually snuck out of the house at 7am, went to the court house, paid the ticket, and snuck back in so my mom still doesnt know about it

Yea... unfortunately I was one of the first to get cleared headlights and the ZKW swap. Not sure about how first I was, but it was definately before they started doing group buys. I think between the clearing the lights, the ZKW lenses, and shipping (Had to ship them to maryland via UPS... cheatin bastards) I've got over a grand into them.

They make me go fast though.

Yea... they drive me nutz too.....

You have been banned for the following reason:
No reason was specified.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

I got this the very first time i ever went to the site. Those bastards. Makes me think of that movie with Tom Cruise.. where he foresaw the future of crime and arrested people... and there were the two chicks that "thought" in wooden balls.

Damnit.... whats the name of that move?

Oh well. I think I was unjustly banned from MNSC because they knew someday I'd say something stupid.
