anyone have any idea WTF might have happened?
you might want to look in the tech section of azine I found out that my car had a service bulletin on the tranny.

I will be removing my CAI filter for cleaning now that I have it parked for the winter. Get it ready for summer.

I'll probably end up changing my spark plugs at the same time, got NGK Iridiums

In my case there was a deposit build up in part #2 and that caused the valve to stay open making my car rev at high rpm's at idle. It took my friend and I about 45 minutes to take it apart and clean it out. Since you seperating the valve from the throttle body you need to replace gasket (part #10) since its probably going tear.

i feel like i've been had.. my mom said I couldn't wait til this weekend to try to fix the IAC, plus it is leaking oil, so she had me bring it in to buerkle.. They estimated $150 to just replace the IAC, saying that cleaning it will only delay the fact that it needs to be replaced soon. Now they say (this is what my moms text message says) "Stripped plug, IAC has to have drill dome plug out"

I can't decipher what she is trying to say but now they are guessing $600, what plug in that area could have gone bad enough to necessitate a $600 replacement or fix?

Is your car still at the dealership? If she took the car home without having the repairs performed she should have the invoice/write up from the dealership detailing their recommendations.

It may be too early, but I'm starting to get spring fever. I'm looking into buying a 300zx and making that my project/summer/weekender..

Picked up the TL and it is running really well, and looks like it will be for a very long time, the car hasn't run this smoothly and comfortably ever, so it may be worth the money since they fixed up a few things.

Hello Mid-West brother! anything going down in chi-town we need to know about??

This spring we need a big midwest meet.

I propose this for the idea:

When: Spring- Late enough for no worries of wet roads or snow
Where: Meet at Mall of America, then go on a spirited cruise through the twisty 60
or possibly a cruise and a cook out, or roll through a park?
Who: All acuras (maybe not teg's) in the Mid-west

I am getting new wheels & tires and don't feel like having a pothole(s) f**k them up.

I as well can't wait for Springtime, and would certainlly be up for a meet. However, it just sucks that we'll have to wait atleast a few months to be safe of no more snow, wet roads, and POTHOLES!!!

Car is in the shop having the 105k mile servicing done along with a lot of other stuff (transmission flush, coolant flush, aluminum shifter bushings installed, brake flush, spark plugs and more) right now so it'll be ready for my trip to St. Louis/Chicago/Madison next week.

So I saw a sign today that Spring is just around the corner... city workers were filling in potholes

On a side note, I am buying some new shoes for my whip. I am going with the 20" RonJon Sport Design Legend Type II in Reflective Silver finish.

I am having a hard time picking out tires. I am goin' with the size 225/35/20. I am leaning towards the Yokohama S.drive due to the fact that is seems to be the best bang for the buck. I am also debating on the BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW NT, Pirelli PZero Nero M&S, Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR, Nitto Neo Gen, and Toyo Proxes 4. What do you guys think of the wheel? What tires should I go with?

Welcome aboard

Do you have any pics of your whip? Also, the lip on that wheel is HUGE! What are the specs of the wheel (diameter, width, lip, etc.)?

Damn we had a feeling it was your IAC.

As for the power steering obviously be careful on which brand you get because the Honda/Acura system is really sensitive. Be sure to monitor the fluid levels. My car ended up having a leak on the tube where it curved.

I was just using that picture to reference the wheels that are coming. I am getting a set 18x9 +43 offset, possibly running 5mm spacers.

I'm fed up with getting lost in the truck all the time. My new toy should arrive tomorrow - bought the Garmin Nuvi 765T. Last years model, but still ranks top depending on which site you check out. Comes with lifetime traffic, bluetooth, FM transmitter, and all sorts of other fun stuff.
