1. my mac is freaking out, my screen moves when my mouse moves.. so when i go from the top to the bottom of the screen, the screen slowly moves down just a little bit.

2. yesterday my friend took me out in his R8 on $10,000 asanti rims, and drifted around a little bit after the snow. it was so cool, i'm not sure if it is technically a super car, but he was telling me about how his dad's bi-turbo v12 mercedes is even faster than most lamborghini's... moral of the story is it was an all around awesome experience full of lots of confused looks from parents and anyone we passed on the road

1. Your friend should not have an R8, much less $10K rims, that's just silly. That's nearly $100K of car and rims for an 18-yr old. (I'm assuming your friend is your age)

2. Top Gear had a race between a Merc and a Lambo last season in Qatar.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eAUFGXkKnQ

A friend did tell me that his SL65 AMG (V12 bi-turbo) was insanely fast, and would blow the doors off his Diablo. He said it actually scared him to drive it, and that was why he sold it. So, it's not totally unrealistic.

3. Is your friend interested in an older brother?

1. I agree, but won't argue with it after it's been done.
2. I've got 2 friends with those mercedes and they both say they are unbelievably fast, i wanna try riding in it sometime. Aero (the kid with teh R8) says it's so much power that no matter what it has wheel spin when you take off.
3. I wish, cuz I'd hop on that one

So... my car scared the shit out of me today. I was heading into work this morning about 5:30am going north on Hwy 77 from eagan... This FUCKER gets on 77 north from 494 in his fuking tercel and decides to get in front of me. Im going 70mph still and he has about 2 car lengths of space between me and him and merges in front of me. I hit the brakes hoping not to hit any ice.

I put the gas to the floor and go around him. I get in front of him and let off the gas pedal real quick... all of a sudden my car is stuck in second gear and wont shift. I look down to see if maybe i hit the stick over to Manual but it was still in drive. I push the stick over to manual and try to shift up to 3rd but it wont shift. Im on the HWY still revving at 6000RPM in 2nd gear and it wont shift out of 2nd. I let the car slow down to 2000RPM and it still wont shift. I got off the HWY by the airport still trying everything i could to shift out of 2nd and nothing. When i get to the top of the off ramp i lightly tapped the brakes and the car shifted out of 2nd and has been running fine since.

anyone have any idea WTF might have happened?

So, if you guys get a chance, do a rallycross.

Oh yeah, and we proved that Winter Tires>No Season Tires at the most recent event.

Didn't you and Janek do that snow school in your lowered luxury cars?

You don't have to have an ideal car to have a good time. One of the best times I had at an autocross was driving an Altima rental. Not even close to the concept of ideal, but that is what made it so much fun.

Damn dirty, you were right around the corner from me!

I like the blue gauges, I was never a fan of the stock color for the dash lights on the 2nd Gen TL.

If i were to buy a 2000 impreza, just the rs, could I swap with a newer wrx engine and turbo etc, and make a 2000wrx?

If it is a 2.5RS, those are pretty sought after on their own. As far as a swap, the chassis are all the same, you could prolly swap in an STI motor, but you would also need the ECU and wiring harness. Check out MNSubaru, there are a couple of good cars for sale right now.

If u haven't run it this year, you might need to clean the carbs. I think you have to have 20 posts to get into the classifieds. I know there is a dude selling a turn-key rally car..

Here is the link: http://mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36506

Here is the body:
Up for sale is my beloved 2002 WRX. 5MT

I am the second owner of this car, and Ive have had ZERO trouble since buying it 2 years ago.

Currently the mileage is at about 114k.
It will probably stay there as I haven't driving it much this winter.

Pros:
100k service done. T-stat, timing belt, water pump
Raw fuel smell recall is being done THIS Monday at Morrie's Subaru.
Fast car even though it is almost 100% stock (only bolt-ons)

Mods:
DBA slotted rotors, hawk pads (extra set of rears included), mud flaps, Eibach Pro Springs, 04 WRX struts, HKS cat back hi-power exhaust, Cobb turbo heat shield, Rota G-force 17x8 wheels (extra brand new in box included) extra set of stock WRX wheels and blizzak tires, speaker fog covers, Leather hood bra, Tall Dan light bar w/ hella lights All momo stuff inside.

Cons: Not much really. There is some ice race damage on the passenger rear of the car. So light that not a lot of people even notice it. Body man said about $500 worth of work. I just never thought it was worth fixing due to its not that noticeable.

Reason for selling: There's another car on this board that I would like to purchase

Price: $8,700 OBO

PM me, text/call me if you have any questions about my car.
Remember it is OBO. lets hear some offers.

Also, keep the banter out of my thread, I'll be erasing and B.S. posts very quickly, so don't waste your time.

P.S. STi trunk is NOT included.
P.S.S. Not parting anything out at this time.
The guy's name is TonyM on the boards if you are interested. He dropped the price from $9500 to $8700 this week, so he is a motivated seller.

It would be a cool change from the Acura to a Subaru, AWD and manual from the FWD auto. The more I drive mine in pretty much any situation, the more I love this car.

On the way down from Mpls to STL we saw about 10 cars off the road in Iowa and we were just charging through with no problems.

had a similar issue with my car revving between 1.5-2.5k on cold start ups. cleaned the IAC and replaced the gasket to resolve that issue. Never had a problem with the coasting issue
