Hey man, glad you were able to get on the site. I haven't been able to check this thread in a while but I'm glad you were able to resolve the auidio problem. There are a lot of very knowedgeable people on this site. I saw the thread for the Car show and I'll probably be able to make it with a few other people.

 

I'd probably be able to do this. Sounds like a good plan if we can get some people together. This isn't to far from where I live, so we may be able to just meet up near me.

Don't worry about it man...I got all kinds of dents and paint chips on my car but I'd be willing to enter anyway. And my wheels are terrible. They were tore up pretty bad when I got the car but I haven't had the $$ to get the Ron Jons I want.

i know i'll be up on the 21st thru the 23rd if yall wanna do somethin then. i wish i could do this show but some B**** backed into me at an intersection wuith about half a car length gap between us. so now i have a nasty looking front end completely until i can get it redone so.

 

I don't know if you realized but the car show is not until May. I made the same mistake when I first looked at. You may be good to go by May, so let us know.

I am in the same boat as I have nicks all over my hood, bumper and mirrors. I even have some acid rain damage, and some door dings/scratches but I want to enter anyway. I just do it to help out a good cause. And it is not very expensive. Meal included too!!

I just have to make sure I am not working that day.

diamondblues, is registration supposed to be finished prior to or can it be done the same day?

 

Registration is in the back lot from 10-11:30 the same day

 

You have the right attitude doc. Don't sweat the small stuff.. there will be a mix from the perfect to the not so perfect. It's all good and the cause is definitely worth it. Ballin is right, registration is in the back lot from 10-1130, that being said, I am working on getting a "pre registration" form for those who are interested in preregistering. Otherwise, it can be done at the show. If you do it at the show, I highly recommend coming towards the early side. Since we are expecting a lot more cars than in previous years, I know preregistration and early arrivals will certainly help those of us who are working to organize the show.

BTW.. I noticed a few people talking about damage to their rims.. Have you ever tried the Wheel Doctor? This guy actually repairs the wheels that get damaged at dealerships. I had him fix one of my wheels after I curbed my TL when a kid stepped in front of my car as I was pulling in front of a hotel. It was messed up pretty bad, but now you can't tell at all. I am in Vegas right now with my wife, but I can give his number when I get home if anyone wants it.

Yeah, I'll take a look into that. I'll have to see how much it runs for to fix, my rims are pretty bad and I don't know that they would even bother. I want to get the Ron Jon Inspyres at some point anyway. I'll just keep these rims for winter tires. Thanks for the info though.

Seriously though, the wheel doctor cost me less than $100 for my repair. (much better than paying for a new wheel) I'm not sure what his limitations are, but the guy does an awesome job. My buddy at Hall Acura is who hooked me up with him.

by the way on my way back from nags head beach last week for spring break my buddy and i stopped somewhere in suffolk, va to grab some lunch and there was a beautiful 07 TL with chrome 17' TSW's, i talked to the man for a little while in the parking lot about the site and he wrote down the website and my name but he hasnt sent me a message yet... : ( , if i had been driving and not my friend i woulda had a flyer on me!, sucks but i havent heard from him yet.... hopefully we will... BUT today at work a guy pulled up in a 1st gen TL that looked completely stock but clean and i gave him a piece of paper with the website and told him as much as i could about it in about 2 minutes but, im still tryin to spread the word here in the west end of richmond.... i went over to DEUCEDXJ's crib and talked to him for a little while (MAN i wish he still had his tl!) but other then that it seems to me that im the only one around here.... i'm tryyyyyyyyin to get the word around! any ideas for a new more simple flyer?

I've seen a black 3G TL with blacked out headlights/tail lights at VCU but never got a chance to talk to him.

I know I still a bit of a newbie.. but if someone wants to send me a master copy of the original flyer, I will be happy to work on a new one with a few less words and some eye catching graphics. (if that's what you guys are looking for)

Also, I don't know if anyone has done it yet, but I would suggest taking flyers to all of your local Acura dealerships. Even if they don't help to distribute them, just getting flyers to the employees who drive Acuras could really help to spread the word and drive interest in the forums.

I was just asking one of my friends about a good tinter yesterday. I know it's not on your side of the water, but he recommended Dynamic Car Audio at Holland Rd and Dam Neck. Not sure about the price, but they did his tint and his tint is flawless. I was hoping to have them do mine before the end of this month (as a little birthday present to myself). As for printing the percentages on the receipt, I know when I had my Nissan done at some other shop a long time ago they did write it on there, but the cops didn't care. They have their own way of measuring. (All I can say is Golly gee officer.. I feel so much safer now that you are taking care of those dangerous criminals with them scary dark windows. )

 

That's funny, my girl got pulled over for tint on her car when she first bought it. Of course we knew it was illegal but she was able to get away with it because it wasn't even a week old. Her's are 11% according to the cop, but she hasn't gotten pulled over since and that was about 2 years ago.
