Dude really weekends are Saturdays and Sundays not Friday and Saturdays

 

the weekend that I picked isnt near a holiday you goof! Its the weekend after labor day which all the holiday events should be done by.

So I think we need to have some more input about the dates..is everyone good with the 2 weekends in September? If so please pick the week that works best for you and we can go from there..

I wont be able to make it the 12th & 13th of Sept thats my birthday weekend. The 19th & 20th is a stretch for me too seeing as thats my Father's Birthday and the weekend after that is my girl's birthday. So I'm pretty much assed out until the beginning of Oct. Oct 3rd & 4th to be exact.

Hurricane season started Jun 1st until Nov 30th......... It's been a quiet year so far.

 

Actually October may be better. More time to plan and a little cooler. Just an idea.

there have been so many ideas thrown out here and everyone is just beating around the bush. We cant cater to everyone and some ppl may not be able to make this meet. So I think we need to pick a place that is near md/dc/va make a weekend trip out of it if you would like. Sometime in September, that is still almost 2 months away, we definitly have enought time to plan this.

If its needed since the op hasnt seemed to be involved as much as this I can run this or help out if needed.

 

Honestly, I think that this is catering more for the people up north. DC is 5 hours from me, I can't imagine what it is for people coming from Florida. If we want everybody from the WHOLE East Coast to come, lets not pick what's pretty, but what is fair for everybody. The more north we go, the less people from FL will be willing to drive up there. I was born and raised in Orlando. The drive even here to Raleigh is a good trip.

You may call my opinion bias because I live in NC which is pretty much in the middle, but I would be more than willing to drive wherever the meet is (DC, VA, etc.), but we really have to think about the WHOLE coast.

The way this thread is going, I have a feeling this one meet is going to turn into two. One more north and then one more south since we can't decide on what is the "middle ground".

 

I kinda have the same feeling too..

The whole coast is a huge deal, its just too hard to get everyone together and assemble in 1 general location so I have no idea how this is gonna work..

 

and reason is our East coast is a lot bigger. San Diego to Oregon is roughly 11 hrs or 850 miles BUT Miami to Lower NY is 21 hours or 1400 miles. Thats why West coast meet was so big

The meeting point should be in NC ish

 

I don't want to sound like the asshole of the group, bitching about where it is, but halfway just makes sense to me . The more north or south we move it, the less members from the opposite ends will be willing to come.

 

Well if more people from CT and NYC put input into it then we can figure it out but it seem a lot of NC DC MD FL are the only people responding so I guess NC would be the best.

LOL... u guys know how much BS I had to take, just for bringing this idea up... LOL, be prepared to pick as a whole. You can't please everyone. Polls work wonders. As long as the polls are based on facts that people can see/visualize... Take pics of areas fairly. Post costs & let the people decide... Only give a few options, no more than two... maybe three.

 

well how bout this..we let the location poll run for this weekend and then come Monday morning we will have our location spot. We need to have the people talk or this meet is gonna end up as 2 meets.

As I see it right now, DC and VA beach are getting WAY more votes than NC, so VA appears to be the tentative target

 

I thought Virginia Beach was being ruled out.

Here's a idea. How bout we find out what the farthest area north and south that people are planning on traveling from. Exp, NY and Miami. Then we can find out the "middle" from there. That way it's somewhat exactly the same distance for both. Seem fair?

 

I think that people overall poll voting makes more sense than basing it off one or 2 outliers

im not driving to DC or VA.. thats too far.. and im in orlando.. no way that people from miami are going to drive. it takes people in miami about 8 hours just to get out of florida! lol

I would however drive to NC if the meet was at the dragon..

 

The largest lot in Rock Creek Park is the area around the Carter Barrron next to 16th Street NW next to the tennis courts. In the summer you will have to battle the soccer players, music concerts, picnic folks and kids learning how to drive. It can hold a few hundred cars but you will have to carry yourself maturely, the Park Police has a nearby substation. It mellows out well in October, less crowded on Saturdays and Sundays and you can get there easy from 95 north and south. It has bathrooms and some nearby food places. Maybe someone can look in Columbia Maryland around the lake or in Prince William County Virginia near Potomac Mills, both off of 95.
