Acurazine East Coast Mega Meet - Postponed till next year
Alright, so alot of interest looking at the West Coast thread. Let's decide on a location first and we can go on from there!
I think Richmond, Virginia or Washington DC seem the most reasonable. Just depends on how many people come out!

FL's pretty far south to catch the whole East Coast, though. Yeah I'm partially being selfish because I'm in the Northeast, but still... I think FL would cost you some attendence verus a more "middle-ground" location.

yeah I was thinking dc would have the biggest turnout as most of the ny/nj guys can head over as well as Richmond and nc people without having to drive any ridiculous amount!
haha no competition man, drive on over! lol

Thread needs a poll for location.
DC would be hot, it would definitely make my life easier than NC or Florida... need people to scout locations in DC!
Additionally, I would like to propose the following tagline for this event:
Acurafest: East Coast Style, Son

I think as long as we stay on the main roads in DC we should be okay, but I'm not that familiar with the DC area. I definitely think this needs to happen though. I tried a Mega meet/BBQ a few years ago here in VA Beach...it turned out pretty good, but if we could get the whole east coast, that would definitely be cool. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know. I wanted to do another meet this year but I didn't have the time to set it up.

I still think DC would be fine for us in the Northeast, and would open it up to DC/VA/NC people who are interested.

^^^ No for Baltimore because its dirty and overly congested. The best idea would be to hold it in a suburb of DC with nicer roads and plenty of highway so no potholes or traffic. I say we do it at a track, so there will be no issue with parking and we can have the track for a whole day. The East Cost maximas hold an all weekend event called " Maxus" that consists of a BBQ at Rock creek Park in DC (awesome park) & at Maryland International Speedway one of the best tracks in the country. We would be able to have the track all day and grilling is allowed there as well. I live 15 miles from both of the major Tracks in the DC metro area as well as from DC itself. I work in DC (at work right now)

I say somewhere in either in NC or VA, it's sorta in the middle(And no I'm not saying that because I live in NC). We should tally up the amount of people from each state willing to attend, and based on those numbers, create a middle ground meeting spot.
Even though I'm leaning towards VA, having everybody caravan around the Pentagon and all of that cool stuff in DC would be mighty sweet. Lots of places for good shots of the car

I was able to go to Acurafest in Fresno and it was really well organized and we had a lot of west coast sponsors from our forums. I will be residing in the East coast pretty soon and it would be cool to compare how the east coast is to the west coast.
I am not sure if we have any willing sponsors over here in the east coast but it definitely helped out a lot. That and just a lot of donations and location was good. I haven't really talked to any of you guys from the east but you will probably be seeing a lot more from me lurking around on the east coast side so if you need help with anything let me know.

I'm working on the park info and how uch it costs to rent the track. They had 179 cars at the track this year.

No prob To have 25 people or more at Rock Creek Park requires a special use permit. I'm assuming its the same one we needed for Skyline whihc was $200, their wedding permit is also $200 (at Rock Creek Park) I'm emailing now to find out how much.

Where the hell did my post go?
I vote Richmond or somewhere in NC. I think thats central. We can get people from NY (only 6 hour drive if Richmond) and people from ATL (8 hour drive to Richmond). Im down, just name a time and place.

DC would be to hectic. It was pretty bad for us when we were trying to caravan heading towards Fresno on the highway. Highways in DC and streets there would be a pain in the ass and people would be getting split up.
