This doesn't sound like a bad idea. People from my area could meet up at breezewood with some other people and caravan from there. As long as we aren't flying through major traffic.

I would highly recommend hosting it in cooler weather cause Acurafest West was HOT!!!!!!!!

I vote florida.. lol .. We are having a big meet in south florida this weekend.. should be around 70 cars..

 

The California meet started off with nothing but people arguing about stupid stuff but once someone took initiative man it just took off. We just need a couple of people to take initiative and take control of some stuff and start working out spots, sponsors and stuff such as that. Trio and Mike has already said they could give some pointers. I am not really familiar with a lot of you guys and girls in the east coast but I would be willing to help get this started somehow seeing how successful Acurafest West was it would be cool to be apart of the east coast group as well too.

 

I'm down for this. Rock Creek park sounds like a great idea!

 

What spots in the Central east coast has adaquate parking for at least 100 + cars or that track thing soundsd like a good plan too as well.

 

How about in NC near the dragon? Then have a group drive? That is what the s2k people do.. and a whole bunch of other car clubs do.

 

For the NYC guys and Conneticut that would be one hell of drive for them.

So some of the West Coast Acurafest organizers were kind of upset for us starting this as they want to brand Acurafest as an organized event so we have to change our name up and do our own thing.


Throw out names, locations, ideas, timings, activities, etc! Lets get this thing going!

 

Damn I didn't even think about that. My fault west-coasters. I honestly have no idea about naming the event. We could maybe do something like "Atlantic Coast Acura Meet" or some shit like that. I don't really know, I'm just throwing shit out there. I could care less what it's called, as long as a shit load of people show up.

As for location, I'm actually starting to dig the DC idea, but traffic is a bitch. I went there a few years back and i was stopped more in DC than I was moving there. It's about 5 hours from Raleigh to DC as well, I can't imagine how far it is for the the members south of me.

Getting a dealership to sponsor would be nice as well!

Well, in Richmond theres one Acura dealer, Crown Acura.

DC traffic and roads were my biggest concern as well. I liked the track idea as well though.

Call it Acura Atlantis LOL serious though. For everyone concerned with DC traffic. The meet does not have to be IN DC. About 99.9% of the DC members here live in suburbs of DC. Rock creek Park is a huge Park but its actually IN DC. There are plenty of spots in Southern Maryland Close to VA. The main hwy is Route 301 and I use this route as a shortcut around the VA part of I95 to go to VA, NC, SC, GA, or FL. Its way better than I95 and no traffic whatsoever.

Also there are 5 or 6 Acura Dealerships in a 40 miles radius of DC, one of them are bound to sponsor. Norris West Acura in Ellicot City MD, Rosenthal Acura in Rockville MD, Pohanka Acura in Chantilly VA, Karen Radley Acura in Manassas VA, Tischer Acura in Laurel MD, & Criswell Acura in Annapolis MD. I'm going to see about some more parks in the area.

 

Whos got connections to someone up high at one of the acura dealers? lol

I'm gonna start a poll thread (unless someone beats me to it) so we can figure out where were going to have this. Then we can figure out a date after that. So far the places that I've seen mentioned the most are:
DC Suburbs
Maryland International Raceway (Mechanicsville, MD)
VA Beach
North Carolina

I think those are the best and most central spots. I was just thinking about that VA Beach meet you held and the park that we were at had a field, that we had the photo shoot on, big enough to hold at least 200 cars.

I think Acuratlantic sounds equally as good as Acuralantic or Acuratlantis. We need a poll for those spots mentioned above and the 3 names or if anyone has anyother ideas.

 

After looking at MIR's website, it seems like the cost would be $100 per car...
That seems a little expensive to me. I don't know if calling there and talking to someone would get us a better deal, but I don't know that the turn out will be good if we ask people to pay $100 a car.

Yeah, the VA Beach meet/BBQ was a pretty decent turn out. I would have to go over there and check it out and see what the rules are for parking but that is probably a possibility. That what I was thinking when someone mentioned VA Beach. We would end up needing to rent at least 2 pavilions though...which shouldn't be a problem.

 

Well keep in mind, I think the OP wanted a lot of other makes and models to attend...I don't if he would still want to accomplish this. However, since it seems like it is taking place around the nation's capital I think we should include words that are fitting to this theme. idk I am just throwing out ideas lol

I think DC is a very reasonable spot, its like smack in the middle of the east side.. IMO

If not DC I think we could do Manassas or Alexandria or Silver Spring area, they are all pretty close and have a lot of spots that are open
