PS3: Gran Turismo 6
Great news everybody! If you live in Japan, own a GPS data logger equipped Toyota GT86 and have access to Tsukuba, Suzuka or Fuji Speedway, the new GT6 update comes out on the 7th! V1.06 is going to include the GPS visualizer which will recreate your real life lap data as a ghost in GT6.

Good thing Polyphony Digital is concentrating their efforts on appeasing less than 0.001% of their customer base rather than bringing us things that all players can use such as: more content, new Vision GT cars, better online game play, more features, etc. Where is the McLaren P1? Ferrari F70? F10 BMW M5? Jaguar F-Type? Any of the new Mercedes AMG cars? New Audi performance cars? The list goes on and on. Their better be more than just this useless GPS visualizer in the new update.

Looking into it more, I guess all the USDM FR-S/BRZ's are equipped with the same data loggers so you could record your laps at Willow Springs or Laguna Seca if you had one of these cars and the ability to get on one of those tracks. I don't think Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Daytona are ever open to the public for lapping. Still, PD needs to work more on things that will benefit the majority of users rather than the VERY small percentage of users that this feature caters to.
Would be neat, if you had a FRS/BRZ/GT86, and if you lived near one of the few US tracks in GT6.
No TWS or MSR on there (2 closest road courses to me). Though I wouldn't mind doing some laps in a BRZ on Laguna Seca or Willow Springs (Big Willow or Streets).

More info on the new data visualizer update. The system is going to be limited to Fuji, Suzuka and Tsukuba so it is totally pointless for anybody outside of Japan. On top of that, even if you already have a data logging equipped FT-86 or BRZ and somehow have access to one of these 3 tracks, you will still have to purchase an additional ~$900 Sports Drive Logger. This feature is officially about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.
After an hour's worth of deleting the game data utility file and re-installing all the updates...

Well, as expected, the v1.06 update is useless crap. Only cool thing added is customizable rear wings. At least now you can choose how tall the park bench spoiler is. There's been a lot of speculation that PD has turned all of their focus to GT7. I hope that's not the case as they still have a lot of promises to fill with GT6 like the GPS course creator and about 20 more Vision GT cars, among many other things.

Thought I was going to be able to catch BDogg's ghost last night on one of the new seasonal races (the electric Pike's Peak car at the Matterhorn). Almost...[sigh].

Lol. What was your time? When I did that one a few nights ago, my time was like #840 on the list but I think it has dropped to a little over #1,000 now.
I must've done them when they first loaded, I qualified 8th with a bronze finish
Officially completed every race in the game last night. Just need to go back & get golds on the last 2 Vettel sets, the moon, last Goodwood race & the S license tests. I think that'll put me at 100%, currently at 93% IIRC.

Yeah, that one was what threw me off most, then the 90* right about 2/3 to the end instead of the chicane.

I've picked up a couple of the better "driving" songs individually from iTunes.
-land but at least it's not cold enough to snow.
