PS3: Gran Turismo 6
How about the 97T on Brands Hatch? Anybody golded that yet? I haven't played it yet but some people on the GTP forums are talking like it's the second coming of the GT5 Vettel events in terms of difficulty.
I got bronze & gave up after quite a few attempts for silver. For me, it's the first curve & the transition to the back half of the course that kills my lap, just can't get the entry right.
I hear you on that. Both are off-camber and basically blind corners. The first corner in particular, you can't even see the apex until it's far to late to change your trajectory.
Yep & I can never remember to turn in early. Always have to trade speed for making the turn.
Another 100 miles in the 97T on BH, still no silver
Got the first turn better, still not quite getting the left to the back of the course & the 2nd gear right with the extra wide curbing.
I'm only a little over 1sec from silver.
Also did the last GT Academy challenge. RWD GTR on Spa. Pretty close to silver there too, just understeer in the high speed left 3rd turn from the end & invalidate the lap.

Holy shit. That Brands Hatch 97T event is rough. I played it for an hour tonight and I'm still 1.5 seconds off of gold. I had to turn it off. Gonna have another go tomorrow when I'm a little less tired.
There are actually benefits to each one. The wheel and pedals give more precise steering and throttle/brake inputs. With a controller, oversteer is much more manageable and you can put the power down quicker out of corners because returning the steering back to center takes less time. That said, I turn in better lap times, particularly in higher PP cars, with a wheel than I do with a controller.

Hate you and your ghost I can never catch.

That event was way harder than I thought it would be. I figured with that long of a track the gold time would be a little more forgiving. It's pretty much 9:20 of balls to the wall driving with little to no mistakes.
i almost gave up on it when the servers for online made it that we couldn't even find any rooms and had to enter the Id room #. they quickly fixed that over the weekend.
But i hope Drive club is actually good so that Poly will be on the scramble to keep their customers with them. this crap of them just giving cars that can't be tuned is horseshit.

Some info:
Toyota’s stunning FT-1 concept car revealed at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show may be a preview of the next-generation Supra, but it’s also the Japanese automaker’s entrant for Gran Turismo’s Vision challenge, which celebrates the popular video game’s 15th anniversary. The challenge was set by Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, who last year asked design studios from all across the globe to come up with a concept using the theme “Vision Gran Turismo”.
A handful of these concepts, including a new FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo, teased in the video above, were selected to be transferred to the virtual world where they will be available in Gran Turismo 6 through online updates. Note, the original FT-1 is already available for download.
The new FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo is based on the original FT-1 but has been designed for the race track rather than the road. No additional information has been revealed but the concept is believed to be powered by a hybrid drivetrain. Responsible for the styling were the same team of designers at Toyota’s Calty Design Research in Newport Beach, California that penned the original FT-1.
Toyota says the FT-1 Vision GT will be available “soon” for GT6. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the new Supra. At present, the fifth generation of the cult hero is expected to land before 2017. It will ride on a platform shared with BMW’s next-generation Z4 sports car and is thought to be coming with an advanced hybrid system combining a four-cylinder engine with a trio of electric motors.

Does anybody else feel like they are just spitting out all of these half-assed new Vision GT cars quickly to complete the originally planned content and move on to GT7? The Mercedes VGT was stunning, original and very detailed. It obviously took a lot of work to produce. Everything since just seems so bland and regurgitated. The Mitsubishi and VW VGT's are damn near the same cars. The BMW is just a 2-Series coupe with a wide body kit. The Nissan looks like it's made out of paper and the Aston Martin looks like the Ford GT90 concept from nearly 2 decades ago.
