Added Toyota FT-1
Added interior to BMW M4
Added seasonal events
Improved in-car visibility on some cars
Improved handling on MR cars
Changing power limiter updates HP and PP ratings in real time
Fixed aftermarket wheels on staggered cars bug

Everything else works the same. They can't do anything about your GT40 Race Cars short of making them unsellable or changing the buying price on them to almost nothing.

Some of my more top heavy cars with the hard suspension I've rolled. Sucks when it's not rolled enough to reset & lose a couple places trying to recover.

I'll be on for a bit tonight, after about 8 (central time).

Got the S License last night. Am I missing something or are there no endurance races in this one? 24 minutes of Le Mans & Nurburgring? Even in a slow car that's only 4 laps on the 'ring.

Yeah there aren't any that take longer than half an hour to complete.

I remember about a decade ago when I was playing gt4 I actually attempted the 24 hour nurburgring. I forget how far I got until I gave up haha.

Damn that sucks there's no enduros. I actually didn't mind them once they made it where you could save it and quit the game. 24 hr nurburgring in GT5 took me about 3 months haha.

I played for a few hours with the G27 last night so I thought I'd give some feedback for anybody looking to buy a wheel or upgrade from the DFGT.

Pros:

-Insanely quiet. Where the DFGT is clunky over rough roads the G27 is silent. The force feedback motors are also nearly dead silent.

-Steering feel. Again, the dual force feedback motors definitely help to give a more realistic road feel. It is much smoother in movement.

-Force feedback. Much better than the DFGT. The DFGT fights you constantly and is very jerky. The G27 has much smoother movement. Another thing is it doesn't wiggle back and forth on the straights. You can let go of the wheel and it will stay centered and keep going straight. If you let go of the DFGT on a straightaway it starts dancing back and forth.

-Build quality. First off, the G27 weighs significantly more than the DFGT. It is obvious how much more solid and better built it is. The pedals are aluminum instead of plastic. Paddle shifters are aluminum paddles instead of buttons on the back of the wheel. Steering wheel is leather wrapped. Steering wheel center is also aluminum instead of plastic. The entire package has a high quality feel to it.

-Pedals. The aluminum pedals have a much more realistic feel to them. The pedal action is also much better. There is more resistance and they are much easier to modulate than the pedals on the DFGT. I did order the GTEYE progressive rate spring for the brake pedal after reading reviews on the GTPlanet forums. People say it is the best upgrade out there for the G27. It was coming USPS so I'll have to wait another day or two for that to get here.

-Clutch and gear shifter. The DFGT only has an up-down sequential gear shifter. Obvously, the third pedal and actual gear shifting adds another dimension to the game.

Cons:

-Price. It is double the cost of the DFGT so it may not be worth the extra money to a more casual player.

-Gran Turismo compatibility. The DFGT was designed from the ground up to be used for Gran Turismo. It has a trick knob selector to quickly make adjustments to things like traction control, brake balance and power split on AWD vehicles. I would assume there is some way to set up the G27 to make these adjustments in-game as well but there's just no way it would be as easy and intuitive as on the DFGT. The DFGT also has most of the same buttons and general layout as a PS3 controller so everything is easy to find. The G27 is designed more for multiple platforms so it's not quite as straightforward as the DFGT. In fact, the G27 doesn't even have a "PS" button. You need to have a PS3 controller handy to take care of those operations.

-Clutch and shifter. I played a lot with it last night and, honestly, I'm a little disappointed at this point. Obviously, it is going to take some practice to get good at it. I just don't think in a million years will I ever be as fast with the clutch as I am with paddle shifters. I'm very familiar with driving a manual. The RL is the first automatic transmission car I've ever owned. I have tons of track time with a stick shift. The shifting action just isn't great on the G27. There is no feel to it. No resistance. The only way you know it went into gear is because you feel it hit the end of the gate. Upshifting to the even gears is easy. Downshifting to the odd gears is okay. It's going between 2-3 and 4-5 that is a bitch. Just no feeling to it at all. The other problem is the programming in the game that allows the manual shifting with the clutch. It requires throttle off->clutch in->change gear->clutch out->back on throttle. Any slight mis-timing in this sequence results in the car coming out in neutral and having to start the sequence all over again. Sure, just like in real life...but it just doesn't come out that way. The entire sequence just takes a really long time and the lack of any kind of feel in the shifter itself does not help with the process. I found myself constantly ending up in neutral after an attempt at a fast gear change. I'm sure I will get better at it but I'm also sure it will NEVER be as quick as using the paddle shifters or even as quick as I can perform this operation in real life. I'm not overly bothered by this. I didn't buy the G27 just for the clutch and gearbox. I will enjoy using it on easier events with slower cars where the speed of shifting does not matter. When it comes to time trials where every fraction of a second counts, I'll be using the paddle shifters anyway.

Overall, I'm very happy with the G27. Other than the whole gearbox things, the setup far exceeds my expectations. There is such a massive leap from the DFGT to the G27 it is hard to believe they are both made by the same company.

Side note: The wheel arrived the same day as the new stand I ordered for it. If anybody is looking for a high quality, stable, practical, affordable and stow-able stand for their wheel/pedal setup, the WheelStandPro is the way to go. I couldn't be any happier with it. I had one for my DFGT and it was good enough that I didn't mind shelling out the extra cash to get one for the G27. Totally worth the investment.

Thank you for the in depth review. I will eventually get the G27.

I'm feeling like it will be easier to drift with the G27 than the driving force pro which is what I have.

Also the fact it is quiet will be awesome. Right now I tend to wake the fiancé up when I try and play the game while she is sleeping.

I've been trying not to get through the game too quickly. Gran Turismo is really the only game I play so I'm trying to make it last.

nice review b-dogg, so far with gt-6 ive only been using the ps-3 remote, but I have the Logitech MOMO wheel I know in gt-5 once I got to a certain level playing with the remote became very hard, ill assume gt-6 well get that way when I get to the more powerful cars (nascars, super gt, etc.)

The Nascar was much easier in GT6 than it was in GT5. I didn't have any trouble getting first in all the races.
I used the HSV or the Light Car Co Rocket for the majority of the later races. I was able to do some of the Super races with the Rocket since it can go the whole race without pitting. Suzuka, Ascari, Silverstone despite it having only 335hp.

Look out. Big picture post coming in 3...2...1...

Lots of pictures from the Goodwood events. I really like the lighting effects at Goodwood. Also a fan of the Dino, in case you didn't notice.

Coming soon:

Based around the town of Zahara de la Sierra in Andalusia, Spain, the new track will be the longest in GT6 - longer than even the Nurburgring Nordschleife’s 26km of tarmac. As previously announced, it will be released in February, along with the Red Bull X2014 Standard and X2014 “Fan Car” models.

V1.04 is live. The final Red Bull events are finally available. X2014 Standard and Fan cars now available along with a Gran Turismo concept C7 Corvette and a new version of the Mercedes VGT. Coincidence that there is a blue and orange color option for the new VGT car? I think not...

I didn't get a chance to check out the new VGT seasonal event last night because the servers were down. Are you sure you don't win it in the new seasonal?

I got a 2:03.649 in a few tries. After seeing how far off I was from the leader I watched his replay. Then I tried to drive like that and, after hitting the a wall within the first couple corners after the first straight like 10 times in a row, I threw in the towel. I'm not even gonna try that shit. On to the C7 GT event.
