Yeah, well, apparently my gamertag offends Sam's Club patrons after I crush them underneath my feet.

The thing is my old name "saltonasnail" was when I played Halo 2 on the original Xbox on LIVE. I didn't know how to import it to the 360 so I just made a new name which was then my screen name on forums from then on

It's pretty obvious the first video was edited quite a bit. I didn't even need to see the second video to learn the moderator acted accordingly. Everyone who has spent about 30 minutes on XBL knows what goes on and what kind of people you'll likely come into contact with.

Also, after seeing this video I feel really bad for XBL moderators. I'm sure they get that kind of shit on a regular basis.

I'm actually glad that Wii online doesn't have chat. I remember playing Halo2 on Xbox and it was just a bunch of kids cursing so I had to turn off the chat anyway.

sometimes people do go way too far... but sometimes its fun i GTA4 for ps3 lets you turn off individuals intead of having to turn all voices off if i remeber correctly

 

Yeah, I used to play Halo 2, also. I pretty much put the headset down once I heard an 11 year old tell someone to fellate his penis. Never played Xbox Live since.

What's funny to me is that I've seen people like this all the time in online games. People who just completely provoke the moderator or admin, but then whine and complain when the person gets banned. Like the guy who posted that video was actually banned for modding. Not cursing or harassing anyone, modding. Then the dipshit has the audacity to post his edited video online, rallying for support on his behalf, crying "OMFG NOT FAIR!"

I mean really. You were cheating, you got caught, now live with it.

 

360 chat annoys me, so does the chat on PC Modern Warfare 2

 

What annoys me is that people that are douchebags can continue to be douchebags with no accountability other than being banned and starting up a new account, buying a new xbox.

The rating system in XBOX live is a joke. It may help you avoid a player, but that's already after they've done something during a game to piss you off. Starting limiting the games that those people can get into for being douches and shit will start to clean up. Just one idea of many things that piss me off about xbox live and the devlopers that make games for it.

 

I have a number of friends that set the parental rules for their own accounts. That way it only lets you talk to somebody if they are already on your friends list. I just mute people individually myself, and I rarely have the headset on in the lobby (when most of the trash is talked).

It's kind of ironic that in the video they say so-and-so was banned for bad behavior, that it violates the Terms of Use, etc. However if you play a game and some guy is just stirring up shit, stalking you, and just being a complete dumbass in general, the best you can do is leave him bad feedback. Of course as we all know bad feedback doesn't do anything besides set you up with others who had bad feedback scores, when you're in matchmaking games.

Also, if someone is banned do they really only have to buy a new Xbox or XBL account? Don't they also need to use a different credit card? Need to have a different name on the card?

I was always under the impression that it was an IP/credit/name ban, making it almost impossible to get another account, especially for that particular 360. I could google it, but speculation is more fun.

 

Yeah, I'm sure it's not too hard to get a new account. I can't imagine why Microsoft wouldn't just accept money in return for an unbanning.

 

So xbox has like admins appointed directly by Microsoft?


I only use play a Steam game so pretty much whoever has a server and their friends can be admins...

most are BS, and quite a few of the one on ebay are the ones that people steal from walmart or target and walk out the store with since they usually have the cards sitting on shelves.

 

which is retarded b/c those cards wont work if you steal them. i used to try and tell people that when i worked at GS... they said "i can buy them for $5 on ebay" and people have been selling stolen ones on ebay forever... the only reason they sell them is b/c they dont work lol

when they are scanned at the store you buy them from they are activated. if they are not scanned, they will not work. reguardless of what petty thieves say.

Project Natal's been talked about for awhile on other gaming sites... i.e. IGN.

It sound's cool, but as for how well it performs, who knows. I'm sure at this years E3 there will be several demos of it so we will see?

 

its seem pretty cool how its all motion detector type thing while u dont have to use and controls but how good of a machine it will be
