from wat ive read(havnt tried it myself) you need the disc to authenticate that the game is yours... It should spin to read it then run from the HDD the rest of the way...so ive heard
at least it wont be so daym noisy when playing a game...finally

for multi disc games.
I'm sure the reason you still need the original disc is for copy protection issues.
I heard there are a few tiers of netflix video quality, depending on your network bandwith. 8Mps, 5Mps, etc.

Haven't seen any reports online whether you still need to swap discs
for multi disc games.

I'll test the disc thing when I get off the crapper.
This is interesting:
Copying from the hard disk TO the hard disk is slow, for some reason.
Slower, apparently, than copying from the DVD to the hard disk.
So some games, like Halo 3, which do a fair amount of copying from DVD to the hard
disk actually run faster if you leave the game on the DVD, rather than installing
the full game onto the hard drive.

But only the studios that have a deal with MS are listed from there...IE no Sony movies, etc.
Xbox live redesigned?
What do you guys think about it?
I guess it's cool that they have all the new features and what not, but the manner in which boxes pop up etc seems like a downgrade to me. When you hit the xbox button in the center of the controller, it used to look nice and flush when boxes popped up, now it just looks like something that should have came out 10 years ago...

I kinda like the new layout minus the Wii wannabe avatars. And you can easily see who is online and what exactly they are doing. It is so easy to send invites to all games unlike some of my PS3 games.
These past few months my XBL has been acting up.... I download music on Frostwire and the speeds are just fine. But when playing CoD4 my connection is pure shit, it stays solid red and sometimes goes to yellow, then it'll read full green but it still lags like shit!
For those of you with PS3s, how is PSN? Is the syncing and connection speed reliable? I hate it when I'm playing CoD and I fill a guy with half a clip, then all of a sudden he empties half his clip and I'm on the ground and respawned, all within a fraction of a second.

It should, I can play almost any video file on the 360, the first order of business is getting the system updated first, in fact have the internet hooked up when trying to play a video, so than it finds the update that it needs. But yeah, Divx has never been a problem for me.
Honestly, at the time when I picked up the PS3... I really only did it for the BR player... since then... the only game worthy has been MGS4...
only reason why i dont want to pick one up is because all the games i want to play on the 360 are also on the ps3, so no point on getting the 360 really.
