So I went for a run on a trail near work today. Goldmine. I hit 33 pokestops in just 3 miles... and then back.. so 66 pokestops. And a few more on another stretch of trail too. I had 11 pokeballs before I started.. decided to trash a bunch of my potions and revive to load up on balls. I think I'll just stop by there once a week
Also decided to finally try fighting at a gym. Shit, I didn't know I had to fight EVERY pokemon at that gym! I had no idea what I was doing either. But I beat 4 of them and then got destroyed by a Slowbro. Oh well.
Now I know why I should have waited to level up after getting to a higher level... live and learn. But I'm not bored of the game yet!
Oh, and I finally tracked down a peekatyou this evening. No idea if that's really good or not but it's pretty much the only pokeman I know about for real. So yay, I guess.
i actually keep my revives and potions since i spend about 15-20minutes a day battling at the Gym at the trainstop where my car is parked
my pokemon are weak as F, so i have to use a shit ton of revive and potion

but i have acumulated about 80 pokecoins
gotta beef up your pokemon before you fight even with my pokemons i still can't hold a gym for more then a day smh
Yeah, I was fighting at the gyms simply as a way to need to use revives and potions since my sack was full and I didn't know if I could get rid of *some* items or if they'd *all* get tossed (I know now).
I didn't realize there was any other benefit to having a little critter in a gym (which I also now know).
i tried assigning Pokemon to random red gyms along my train ride home and then collecting once i got to my stop. unfortunately all the crips took over them
If you leave your pokemon at a gym, do you have to actually go to that same gym to pick up your coins? Or can I be at home and watch the money roll in?

Can you use those potions while fighting or only afterwards? I was pressing the shit out of my screen, not knowing what I was doing, and couldn't find those during the fights. Also, when I wanted to switch pokemon during a fight, it seemed like I could only choose from my top 6 CP pokemon.. do I have to choose from those or can I choose a lower CP one?
i don't think you can access your bag mid fight can you? even if you can, the opponent is kicking your ass. Before you enter the gym, the screen shows you which 6 pokemon you want to bring in (similar to the old game. Pick which ones you want prior to entering.

You can use the revive and potions afterward.
Not sure about the switching during a fight question, but I did figure out that when you enter a gym to fight it brings up the six critters and you can click on each one to change it out to what you want. So going into the fight you can use what you want and not what it auto populates (which may be random? I wasn't noticing an obvious pattern).
Like you, I was too busy aggressively stabbing my phone with my finger to really figure out what was going on.
I just stumbled onto this thread and I can't understand half of the conversation here. I need to start playing this game.
Yeah. Probably don't do that.
I am not at all the target demographic for this game and I sort of started playing it accidentally. It's stupid and silly and stupid but kinda fun in a stupid and silly way.
It does *not* bode well if you have a completionist or perfectionist tendency. So far I've been pretty passively playing but I can see the day in the near future where I will need to just uninstall and forget about it or I'll start obsessing about tracking down the last few infuriatingly difficult to find animals.
You too can be a pseudo-zombie that hangs out at parks in the wee hours of the morning, swaying methodically and roaming around from spot to spot performing meaningless actions on your cell phone. It's fun*!

Decided to leave one of my pokemon at a friendly gym. Within 5 min another team came and took it over . I also didn't know I'd have to use revive and potions to restore health to pokemon I leave at gyms. I'm learning as I go!
I also saw a snorlax on my radar on the way home. Was very close ( I think.. since that radar thing is so fucked up). But never saw him :.
I can catch a level 550 machop with a regular ol Pokeball. But I can't catch a level 158 Onix with multiple great balls + Razz Berries
I had a level 23 weedle jump out of my pokeball twice before I caught it I really hate how something like a 300 level eevee comes out of nowhere and jumps out after one throw then runs away.. same thing happened to a charmander and bulbasaur today.. only got 1 shot and then it ran away.
