^That too. Or like this morning I caught a Bulbasaur and even fed him a razberry. Then all my throws, even though I was throwing them straight, went wide left or right and I have no idea why. Used up like 10 balls to get that mother fucker.

Supposedly the game picks up sound from your mic and that is considered wind, and it will send your pokeballs in different directions. But if you throw curveballs, it will resist the wind better.
Whatever, it adds +5 to realism. I can feel like Ash Ketchum and it feels satisfying when the ball hits and you get a "Great!" or "Excellent!" throw on top of it

It's being discussed on reddit as possibly a bug. Same as to why such low CP Pokemon become insanely difficult to catch at higher trainer levels when you could catch them without a sweat early on.
The servers have been hit or miss for the last week. The real problem is that the tracker & grid with your 9 nearby Pokemon is still broken and no update on progress towards fixing it. Until then, whatever you're coming across is luck of the draw. I've missed out on a few rare ones thanks to the bug.

I saw the outline of a Tauros while I was at work but he never showed up
Also, I've heard many places online .. about the nearby pokemon.. where if it has 3 footprints it is close but 2 footprints closer 1 footprint very close etc.. Not even once have I seen one without 3 footprints. Every single one has had 3 footprints. This the glitch you are talking about?

Btw working my way up! Level 9..
That's the one. When you're at 1 footprint, you can supposedly tap on him, and he should appear instantly in the map. Your grid is supposed to also establish their distance as well, so the from left to right, then to the next row, and so forth; that too is currently broken.
My friends and I went out Sunday night looking for a Wartortle that would appear and disappear from our screens, and was rarely ever in the same spot on the grid for each of us. We gave up after 30 minutes in a warehouse district.

This was a big reason why I deleted the app. The game needs some fixing. A lot of the functions in game don't work or even have a tutorial that explains how they work. Maybe there will be a how to once it all functions how it is supposed to.
The footprints are supposed to work how you explained. Even more detailed, I read each print is supposed to be a specific distance. Like 1 print means within 100 meters.
You are also supposed to be able to track each pokemon. You click the pokemon so his image shows up in the bottom corner. Then click the top right compass to it turns with your movement instead of free spinning. T
You are then supposed to slowly rotate your body 360 degrees and the box in the bottom right corner will pulse green when you face the direction of said pokemon. Then you walk that way util the prints go from 3, 2, 1, then it should show up on your map.
This however has been proven to be bugged right now and not working properly. This, as well the small issues like pokedex not scrolling or clicking transfer 100 times before the button goes anywhere got me to quit. Maybe one day when it all works flawlessly I'll try again.
But basically I just have no time to play. The other night when I did I was at starbucks just getting a tea. I turned the app on while in line and saw an Electabuzz. I actually walked around for 15 minutes looking and the three prints never turned into 2. I could get the small box to pulse but it was like I was never actually going in the right direction. Id turn around and it would pulse again. Sooner or later it had me walking all over without any clear direction then the pokemon just disappeared completely. I felt like such a fool I deleted the app before I even got back to my car. LOL
So went to central Texas for the weekend and caught a few new ones I've never seen. I even saw a Venusaur and Golbat and Starmie on my 'radar' but never saw it.
But stopped in a Dairy Queen on the way home and caught a Clefable and a few others made sense cus everyone in the DQ was pretty husky. Then caught a Dratini on my run later in the day. So now... based off that Pokemon Go rarity chart.. I have 3 Epic pokemon and 4 Special pokemon. And now level 12.
Guess it depends which one. The first one was the first one made by some reddit guy so mine are based off that. Based off the second chart, I have 4 special, 1 epic and 1 myth.
I don't agree about Pinsir being very rare. I see him every day and have caught him 5+ times.
