I used a highly modded bmw m3 gtr. thats a fun car to drive.

 

Active Stability Management? Kinda like VSA. turn it down a few notches and the car is easier to drive.

picked up some component cables today...is there anything you have to do special like settings or do you just plug them in and you are set?

 

I lower ASM so that it oversteers since understeer is very apparent in this game by the way I drive. I never spin out anymore. I've only had to adjust it on the R34 though as it's 4wd.

I tried a stock Cien on the American Championship where you race Team Oreca Vipers and such and got whomped. Should I supercharge it or is there a better car?

I've never been happier about getting sick. I might not go to work tomorrow. I'm at 10% now too. Should be doing endurances by lunch time.

 

regarding the corrupted game save issues.... looks like their might be some user issues involved... but still, better to be safe than sorry. The thing I have noticed with GT4 is that the game saves don't work like the previous versions did. Each game save is unique to the memory card and the game won't let you just swap out a memory card and put a different one in and save to it, for whatever reason. So this might be some causes for the issues. Something to keep in mind. I tried it myself last night, thought I could just put the 2nd mem card in and save the game to it, but it said no, this ain't the right mem card, please insert the correct one. So I had to copy the game using the PS2's mem card browser utility.

So every game save is unique? Now this is news to me.

I originally planned to get a new memory card to back up my GT4 saves...

 

each and every car I get (up to 118 ) - I feel a personal connection to it - and I feel it can't be replaced in the game - I either won it or built it up, to my specs - just the way I wanted it to be. If I had to do it all over again, it just wouldn't be the same.

Yes each game save is unique, at least in the NA version - don't know if that also applises to your Chinese version. It won't let you overwrite an existing save from within GT4, if its from a different session. So if you want to make a backup of a gamesave, you have to eject the GT4 disc, restart PS2, and do it from the mem card browser utility.

I got tired of the Panoz and Team Orcas kicking my ass in my Cien or Ford GT so I used a fully modded Camaro Race Car and raped them all. BTW I got the Camaro Race car from the Stars and Stripes race.

 

the Camaro LM is a great car. You can do a lot of damage with it. If properly setup it can do the Ring in under 6.

on s13 test w/ Z. Most difficult part of the tests aren't the technical portions of the course it's just finding out the individual dynamics of the car and how far i can push it and when i need to back off.

 

added the level 4 turbo upgrade to the R8..... 5:23 with room for more.

 

bah i had to stop playing this game.. stupid finals ohh well some reason not playing it made me lose interest in playing it

 

s14.....audi has some different characteristics for sure. I have a feeling i'll be in mizouses shoes for the next few months.....game play time will be sparce.

 

I got the AI license last night. The N-Ring is such a badass track. I didn't mind the crappy launching Benz neither. The Nissan race car on that last test, all I gotta say is holy shit. That straight was scary fast. I did call in sick but slept most of the morning. Now I have to go eat lunch with the wife so no game until 2:00 earliest.

I thought I was the only one who had trouble with the ring... I kept sliding off at the last minute around some of those turns. Once I got to about 8:30 seconds and ran off... I was PISSED! Took me about 10 or so tries to get through it cleanly...

That last car scared me too, I was PLANTED at 250+ going down that straightaway. Incredible handling.

 

Yeah I drove slow the first time just to know it and to have a ghost to race. I was 7 seconds shy of bronze. Then I did the first 2 checkpoints super aggressively that I was 10 seconds ahead of my initial pace. So then I knew to lighten up and by the time I got to the last part I was like 15 seconds off pace so then I really slowed down.

 

Have you guys tried the Opel Speedstar Challenge yet? Here is my little story:

I bought the 00' Speedstar Turbo today and the AI cars killed me in JUST 3 fucking seconds into the race...After spending 5 minutes to put all the mods I can to increase the horsepower, its still a 200(!!) A-Spec pts race. I cannot believe it, but I managed to win the first 2 races, by only 2 seconds ahead of the 2nd place car.

I wonder how can I find out the stats of the AI cars in GT mode.

 

There's a demo for enthusia in this month's OPM. I have yet to check it out. I wonder if it's 900degree wheel compatible

 

What I accomplished on my sick day....

Man the S license is easy until the last 3 races. I hate the ice races and rally races. I pretty much did the first 13 in one sitting though so I guess I was just getting impatient. The Infenion with the R8 is just out of hand. That car made some sick ass turns.

I did a few of the missions and I got up to #10. What a PITA. This is crap I hate. Run for like 3 minutes in slow ass, crappy handling cars.

The Z Concept with Stage 4 boost is a beast. I was afraid of boost lag and crappy power distribution. ANYWAYS. I totally utterly MURDERED the Japan GT Championship. I won the Motul Z so whatever. Mine's is better.

Don't know if this posted 20 or 30 pages back but if you do the Special Condition Capri (2nd from the top) you get the Toyota Raid Rally car which goes for like $200k. Of course no dirt tires. I was trying to B-Spec the race to speed it up but it won't let you. Well it's only 2 courses with 2 laps. B-Spec spoils me.

For those of you who have won the World Championship under professional events, what car did you use? I have tried the Z LM and CLK-GTR cars and I am not even coming close to winning. Any help would be much appreciated.

 

i used the minolta toyota with super hard racing tires on it. it can be one in the el capitan endurance race i believe.

 

Did you put the Stage 4 Turbo on your Z, cob3683?

 

after playing so much GT4....
I find myself using the SS in the CL almost all the time now.
Makes me which I had a manual car.....

Yep, got absolutely smoked in the Z. The CLK-GTR would get anywhere between 3-4 on one of my best runs.

 

Do playstations need sleep? Cause I've kept mine awake since sunday.

I'm thinking of giving her some more nodoze so I can win more races, but I don't want to hurt her.
