Is it too late to buy this game or would I just get owned online? I mean, is it possible to jump right in or will I be entering with a knive going up against dudes with bazookas?

 

You will do fine, you start off with standard weapons.

The points are harder to get now because of the new ranking system. I'm glad I bought this game on Day 1, or I would still be crying with my M16....

Hey gang I still can't figure it out regarding the multiplayer thing. Like my game won't find any servers. I'm going to have to call EA and ask or look it up online so I can join you guys. I would have done it last week when I first posted the problem but I've been busy playing Doom 3 lol

 

Is it me or is it incredibly annoying that EVERYONE has the upgraded weapons now?

 

I'm hoping that this is a sign for new BETTER upgraded weapons .

 

For some reason, I'm getting bored quicker and quicker now when playing.

 

Yeah the update took alot of the fun out of it for me. There's no reason to play for rank and with everyone having these new weapons its a non-stop killfest.

 

The expansion pack comes out in a little over two weeks. They will have a shit-load of upgraded weapons and a few new armies.

 

For me i'm not going to buy it....i'll download it instead try it out and if its worth it, i'll consider purchasing it....BF 2 never reached its full potential, the ranking system was flawed from the start..so it really makes no difference that i jumped 4 ranks and was able to unlock 4 more guns.

Right now i'm trying out FEAR, and Sniper Elite.

 

1. If you spot an enemy before he sees you, chances are you will die.

2. The probability of killing someone is inversely proportional to how much you want to kill him.

3. For every good thing done, something bad happens.

4. If you see a bunch of easy targets in front of you, you will miss all of them and die.

5.You have a better chance of throwing a handfull of sniper rifle bullets and killing the enemy, than shooting them at him .

6.For every one enemy you kill with mines, you will kill 2 friendlies and they will both punish the TK .

46.If you are capping a flag and once it goes neutral you hear arty guns firing in the distance, run like #@$%!!!

47.If you need tank support, drop a mine on the road and a friendly tank will show up in no time...

48.If you respawn as an anti-tank the tank will have either disapeared or magiclly spawned many enemys' who know exactly where you respawned

49.When in need of medical aide call for a supply drop, the crate will be there in no time to crush you to death, thus ending your need for medical aide

50. Asking a Commander for ammo means he will send Artillery with the assumption you catch them and throw them at the enemy.

Anyone get the Spec Ops expansion? How is it?

 

The Special Forces Expansion is great. The Night Vision, Gas, and Flash Bang can be VERY annoying. The best part of the expansion would probably be the new guns and grapling hooks to climb walls. You can also use the new guns in normal Battlefield 2 maps which will give you a big adventage.

Does anyone still play Battlefield 2?

 

 

Is there a particular server that AZ members play on?

 

I personally play in the Moders servers a lot. They have around 3-4 servers (1 wake, 2 strike at karkan, 1 ghost something (special forces)

My favorite map is still shauqi or oil fields.

 

F900 where the hell you been? LLC serve is always full... I've been playing on UFS or MassTactical.... let me know man, fun playing with everyone.

The reason LLC is always full is due to the fact its one of the only very few 64player servers left on BF2, some have dissapeared, others are BF2 SF only.....

For tomororow i will give you the IP address of the other server i play on.......

For about a week from this weekend i wont be around as closing on a Condo and i will be flying...but after next week i will be back to normal.

Well i lost my cd for battlefield 2 so im getting the expansion pack and gonna be playing over christmas break. I miss this game the best part is being on a blackhawk and just letting the gattling gun tear through everyone.

I've been playing the demo for a month now and I have to get the game. The price just isn't coming down so I think I'm stuck paying close to full price. Oh well...

 

Its fun expansion pack is fun but there no chinese and the weapons are still kinda the same but its still fun i would recomend it if you like BF2.

 

Wait...So the expansion makes up for 1.3 upgrade that everyone hated so much a couple months back?

You'll never find a game as realisitic as BF2 on a console. It's simply too limited in control.

 

Does anyone think I can run this game with decent visuals and fps with a Radeon 9800 Pro 128 mb card, coupled with 1.5 GB of PC2700 ram and a 2.4 ghz P4? I know I can look at the system requirements, but I want to hear real life performance.

 

True, but i already got the console and i am enjoying it.. So lets see if BF:2 for it makes it even more enjoyable. lol.. I think the new ghost recon will be great..

I run it and it looks just fine with the same video card, 1GB ram, on a 2.7ghz machine.

 

If you want, try downloading the demo and playing it online some to see how it feels. You might think it's too "choppy" or just fine. Plus the demo is free and the game is still $.

 

just search "battlefield 2 radeon 9800" first...

theres some settings you need to change on your video card drivers before you start the game... once thats set its as smooth as butter.
