RMATIC - have you run a spyware scan on your pc? M$osft Antispyware, Ad-Aware, Spybot.. how much HD space do you have free? are you installing off original CD's? have you been able to install using the same cd's to a different computer?

Yea there original CD"s, i will try on my moms comp which is brand new, HD space ? gig of ram, 100+ gigs of memory....i mean, the game said i had Ample requirments. I have no idea what gives, and i no i dont have spyware, because i have all the internet security, and all cookies blocked, and havent seen 1 AD since i got this comp...but i guess ill try.

I dont know what any of it is, its not spyware though, my computer runs just as fast as when i bought it. When i got it, 90 percent of that shit was already there.

also it looks like you have something like Nero running in the background... could be fucking with your CD player.

if still doesnt work, bring the discs back, tell them it doesnt work and you want the DVD version.

Hey after finding a unranked server with all the unlocked guns, I tested them out, decided the best gun for me was the sniper upgrade...boy what a difference.

I was running on a 900MHZ presario that died on me this week.

I was about to kick out $600 on a barebones rig but my father surprised me when he gave me a PC he wasn't using...for free !

Its a Pavalion 2.6GHZ P4, 1.5GB RAM, 100+GB HDD.

I plan on purchasing the the GEFORE 6800 128MB video card.

With this setup do you think I'll be able to run BF2? I hope so, I love this game like no other.

The specs are fine, I would just make sure the video card is compatible. BF2 is particularly finnicky.

Worst case, you play it at lower settings. But should be fine...

Actually if you don't want to spend that much money, do what I did which is pulled the trigger on a Leadtech Geforce 6800 SE 128 MB. Apparently you can get this VC card and open up all the pipes and stuff and make it perform like a 6800 Pro, and for less money (I got it for 133$ from Newegg while the 6800 256 MB card is like close to 300$). It's basically a crap shoot, and you may not be able to open up all the pipes, but it should perform significantly better than my ATI 9700 Pro (AGP). Would have loved to have upgraded to a PCI-X video card, but would have had to buy a new MB, and didn't want to spend the money quite yet.

If anyone wants to get a VC without upgrading to PCI-X, and have one that might play BF2 at a decent frame rate and you have at least a P4 2.6 this might be worth looking into.

The problem is the ghey ass admins there don't boot people who punish for accidental TK.

Two mother fuckers on my team punished me for accidentally strafing them with the machine gun of a J-10 while they were RAIDING THE ENEMY CARRIER!!!

How the hell was I to know they were there? I wasn't even in sight of the carrier when I began shooting... fucking retarded... who would punish for that?

It's like the idiots standing next to enemy tanks who get pissed when they're cluster bombed

 

Oh the 3rd punish was the best... this idiot... Winterwave or something.... was fucking flying above me in his plane (unbeknownst to me) and punished me for TKing when I flew up... what a dolt... don't fly tandem if nobody asked you to fly tandem and then punish when an accident happens. Donkey.

naa thats the problem... its not managed at all!!

the game auto-boots you when you get punished for 3 TK's... on their server... it auto-bans you too.

most servers though, the admins will ban players who punish for accidental TK's (like TK by airplane) but on this server the same idiots just go on punishing for shit thats their own fault... so i get fucking booted for it.

seriously, how can you punish for getting TK'ed while you're on the enemy aircraft carrier!!!! jesus

 

plus side though, beyond that stupidity, most people act decent on the server rest of the time.

 

i so wanna play this game. after you guys started talkin about it i checked it out at fry's it looks pretty awesome.

maybe i'll get it when i get my new comp up and running.

 

One or two of the LLC guys are Admins like that guy LLC=Elmo, the problem is he wants to play and not babysit, i just finshed 6hrs of non-stop play on the LLC server is it was great, no bitch fighting and i had a full squad, and was good play all around.

As an exanple with the TK, I had a full squad in the blackhawk, was flying @ 300Ft next all i knew was i had 5TKs, due to some idiot flying a jet on the other team crashing into the heil, his fault i take the hit.... luckly no one punished and i was fine. Hopefully EA will fix the TK punish system in the next patch due out very soon.

 

well, to be fair, i rarely had problems with LLC when playing LATE. it's just during the day/evening you get sooo many fucking idiots and no admins to control them.
