well i just picked up the game, but during the 2nd CD of installaiton, it keeps freezing when installing the level FUSHE_pass/client.zip.

My computer is way above the min requirments.
3.4 ghz
x800xt graphics card
1 gig of ram....
Plenty of memory


so i dont know what the deal is..any suggestions?

 

weird. guesses would be, scratched/damaged disc, or fubared windows.

and yes, your PC is more than powerful enough. I play BF2 on a 2.8 wih Radeon 9300.

 

Soopa , whats fubared windows? Im going to try it on my mothers computer, and see if its the CD, if it is, ill have it exchanged.

try disabling your antivirus software before doing the install... you can disconnect your comp from the net if you're uneasy about doing that - also, do you have any other Windows security programs installed that continuously watch your computer for malicious installs and program executions etc? might try disabling those too, if the antivirus didn't affect it... that's all I can think of atm

Damn Soopa, what settings are you using?? I have a P4 2.8 / Radeon 9700 Pro & 1 gig of RAM and I can only play 1024 x 768 on medium to low graphics. Do you use a joystick for flying??

I suck so bad at this game, and have had it since middle of June, i've still only scored like 150 pts and still a stupid Private. I think you need 500 just to ramp up to Private first class or something.

I think I'm lance corporal. Yeah, I don't have my game at high settings or anything either. I fly with keyboard/mouse... and I'm damn good at it. I get top aviator 8/10 games.

I suck at most everything else though, haha, especially helicopters... but give me a plane and I'll give you a win

Well not quite sure yet howto meet up with others other than to 'IM' the other person and tell them you are going on-line & pass on the IP of the server you eventually connect up to.

This is extremely addicting, and my wife is hating me for it!!
