yeah, it's really hard to rank up unless you never fuck around and you play as a team...

unfortunately, i tend to get irritated on public servers and TK the little idiots who keep trying to push me while i'm waiting for a plane

also, nobody works as a team on most servers.

this server is great, and good to have acurazine guys on... real teamwork... look at F900 score above despite low kill ratio... the teamwork aspect is huge rankup.

 

Is the game that good? Sounds interesting.. But I know likes flying around..

 

Jonesi, it's SOCOM, with more character classes, bigger maps, many more players online, better graphics, better physics, vehicles, helicopters, and airplanes.

You can crawl around in bushes, plant C4, and capture bases just like SOCOM. Or, you and a buddy can jump an an F-14 Tomcat and you can drop laser guided munitions with your infrared camera on enemy formations.

It's real war. The total package. Intense hand-to-hand fighting, covert special operations, and high speed air combat ALL IN ONE.

It makes console games look silly. There's nothing the game is missing other than perhaps the intricate buddy system of XBOX Live. Apparently, xfire solves that. But so does AIM. Haha.

Unfortunately ping is deadly, so hopefully this servers ping rate to me will be decent.

Just ordered a Leadtech Nvidia 6800LE, and hopefully that will make that game much more playable for me.

 

Sounds like a WHOLE LOT of fun!!! I hope its this fun in Xbox. I didnt really want to get in pc since i like the LIVE talking instead of typing like my old halo on Pc. But lets keep our corssed. And maybe some of you might want to come over to the xbox side lol.... NOT!! since i hear pc is better. But we will see. cant wait.

 

Gunny, you can talk on PC just like you can on LIVE. Same exact thing. Shit, TALKING in games came to PC before XBOX or PS2.

I use my webcam to chat, so I dont even need a headset

 

but not only can you talk just like you can in LIVE, but you can talk, type, or voice command

I think it may be because my laptop is too weak??? But it ain't a slouch, 1.6ghz Centrino with 1gig of ram. Not sure of the video card though.

 

YOu need aleast a newer 128MB Video card to run the game, that and 1.8ghz Centrino.

BF2 relies very heavy on the video card for it to work. I'd say your out of luck my friend. Look at the system reqs on the box

Yeah, I figured it out. Its weird though, one thing on my computer says it has a 128mb Video card, yet the little diagnostic thing that EA has says its only 64. I'll have to figure it out later. I'll be pissed if I wasted $50.

 

I had to bail out after 11:30 (CST) but there was definetly alot of action going on when I was playing (unfortunately it sucks that no one else got a chance to hop in because the server was full).

Don't know how much of an opportunity I will get to get on-line with all the preparations that I need to make to the house for Rita, and with us possibly having to leave town, but hopefully will get a chance to meet up with everyone on-line.

 

I am sorry to say, BUT A GAME SHOULD BE THE LAST THING ON YOUR MIND RIGHT NOW... i know its addicting. Like when halo and halo 2 got me. I wanted to come home and play play play.. But in all seriousness. Go take care of family and house. And get out. The game will be there when you come back, instead of you never comming back to the game. Yeah I cleaned up in points last night, i'm like 10900 but have not got the 2nd unlock yet, i guess it takes time for the EA server to update, so should happen tonight. I'm still undecided on what gun to unlock, considering i'll be 15000points away from the next unlock.

I'm hearing that with the next patch more likely next week, EA will upgrade everyone to the next rank which means you will get a free unlock so just got to wait and see.

 

Yeah it always takes a day for me to get an unlock.

I notice you're often sniper, but don't have the 50 cal. I would unlock that.

The 50 is invaluable when sniping vehicles, it's the only rifle that can pierce bullet proof glass. You can take choppers down with it

 

how does this game work? If I buy it today, can I jump in on the game you're playing in and start crackin' or am I a total n00b and have to like, put in hours and hours before I can play at the same "level"??

 

you'll pick it up pretty quick, follows pretty standard military FPS style. so long as you figure out how to join a squad and follow along with your team, you'll be just fine.

The best thing for you to catch up is to read this website, it will tell you everything you need to know about upgrading in ranks/points/and unlocks etc...

Just so you know it has taken me 145hrs playing time to reach 10500points. Alot of people complain about it, some if it might me changed in the upcoming patch due out hopefully next week.

 

you get points for winnings, bonuses, etc. more points you get, higher your rank gets, every new rank, you unlock a new weapon you can use.

also, higher rank gives you precendence in commander election at beginning of game. commander can direct squad leaders at targets, deploy artillery and uavs, etc.

 

Fawk this i can't hold out i feel the need for more points lol... BTW if we can get enough Acurazine members to play. There are plenty of empty servers for us to use and have a private match..... I'm off to the LLC server..
