So realistically what system requirements do I need to run this game?

 

3.0+ processor. 2GB ram (this game EATS ram). 5800 or better NVidia card. SATA harddrive is nice since it loads the game faster. I use RAID and it loads super fast.

As of today, I run BF2 fine on an AMD64 3000+ with 1 GB ram and a Radeon 9800 pro.

As of tomorrow.. that all changes

that vid card wont cut it steve, i got a nvidia fx6600 (not too expensive, yet great quality)

if anything splurge and spend the extra money to get the best video card you can afford

 

we dont have a server... but we should open one... and as for your brother, his bf2 is screwed and he seems to be abandoning the battlefield....

Will an ATI X1300 Pro work well?

 

i dont know what your comp will be compatible with, you gotta find out... then i would say go with the nvidia (but that is just preference) lets say nvidia 6800 or greater

 

For gaming... go nVidia Steve... A 6600GT (which I have) or a 6800GT Ultra will suit you just right. Plus with the expansion of SLI, AGP cars are getting much cheaper and the 6800GT Ultra is well overcapable of handling ANY game.

 

Well he has PCI Express, he should get a PCI Express card, which is much faster than AGP.

yeah guys , I love battlefield 2. The thing is..i am not playing because my video card sucks...Nvidia 5200 PCI.

So its not worth it...i mean..when it can look totally orgasmic and you are laggin and such even when you have the fastest connection outta the guys playing..just not worth it.

Anybody have a used card that is better?? I do have an AGP slot.

My bro has a nivida 7200 GT Pci express i think and he still cant play on all high settings...but his is stunning.

 

I have a 256 ATI 800XT AGP, and i can run it at high settings without any problems, just takes longer to load.
