I hate how the guided missles only fire 1 at a time. 1 is not even enough to take out a tank. And it takes ages to reload and 2 isn't a guaranteed kill either

 

tanks are a little "tanky" if you ask me.

if i have an RPG designed to take out armored vehicles... by god it should take them out.

 

But on the other side, man it is annoying to be in a tank only to get bombarded by 3 random guys with RPG's.

If you hit a tank square in the back, it takes off 50% damage. That's a pretty fair amount in my opinion.

I'm getting a bit better at sniping. I can actually take out guys at longer ranges now.

 

I got the MAV yesterday. Man, it's hard to kill people with it. Really good for spotting though.

 

Unlocked the EOD bot last night. Not sure what exactly I should do with it now...

It seems useful in rush, but that's about it. I need to play with it more.

Also, don't forget to join the Acurazine platoon! You can join multiple platoons at once so there is no downside!

EDIT: I just saw the price for the first DLC is 15 bucks! I get it free since I bought the limited edition, but I'm not sure if I will be buying future DLC at that price. Hopefully they will gradually drop the price over time or something.

 

Yea I didn't find the EOD bot that useful except in rush, mainly cause people seem to ignore it.

 

I'll sound like a hypocrite since many of you know how I feel about DLC but I'm probably going to get it. In my defense if I knew how much I was gonna like BF3 I would have pre-ordered it as soon as it was announced. Instead the release date passed by and I had no idea

and instead of just 4-5 maps for $20 it's $15 for four new maps, vehicles and weapons. I hope they take the high road on this but knowing EA/Bobby Kotick....

What are your guys' favorite guns? I seem to do really well with the burst M16 and M4... just unlocked the SG553 (the CS gun! kinda) in co-op and it's kinda iffy. Same with the G36. G3 sucks ass, loved the AEK and F2000, might go back to those.

I hardly ever play support. Played only a bit of recon and the SV98 is leaps and bounds better than the semi-auto snipers IMO. I've done things with it that are impossible with semi-autos. I hated sniping but now I can't wait to unlock the straight pull and bipod.

 

I think during black Friday they had the limited editions in sale for like $30?

 

I mostly play the engineer and I use the M4A1 w/ holographic, grip and flash suppressor in that class. When I play recon I use the UMP w/ silencer, holographic and laser sight.. And for support the M249(?) w/ extended mags, grip and holographic sight.

 

anybody else feel like they are cheating when they use the IFR scope?

I really hate how for at least ps3 it doesn't remember the weapons I saved for each class.

Like for engineer it always defaults back to the ak74su(?) and the silenced mp443(?) handgun
I always gotta change it back to the m4a1 and silenced m9 (doesn't matter if I'm playing as US or the other side.

Right now it's the M416. It's not a particularly great gun but it's pretty multidimensional. I haven't unlocked all that many guns though.

The M249 is just fun. I haven't had it for long, but it's great to just hold down the trigger for awhile.

Shooting the SV98 with a laser sight from the hip is fun too. I can't wait to get the straight pull bolt. I'm always like an inch off and by the time I zoom back in I lose my target.

Also, being shot by a USAS-12 sounds like your world is exploding.

 

How do you make sharp turns in jets? Some guy who was ranked like 10+ (colonel or general or w/e) was owning in a jet. Went like 20-0, guy was godly when it came to piloting.

I slow down with the S key (or back) but I still have to make wide turns. He was turning on a dime almost.

damn.... I can't wait to get thermal optics. Right on though, if you have someone who can pilot worth a damn, you guys will rape. I'm a crappy pilot but a pretty good gunner. Thank you MW2 chopper gunner perk.

Doesn't hurt that I'm sitting next to my buddy and spotting people for him also, do vehicle perks like stealth/stealth add up or does only one person need it? Seemed like we could both have IR flares though.

So I haven't played the campaign missions, so I should be fine.

Not sure on stealth, but yea you can have 2 IR flares, which helps since the pilot can set of flares at the first missle and the gunner on the next, by the time a 3rd one comes the pilots flares should be reloaded I think.

I use the ECM jammer thou.

As for the pilot turning really sharp, not sure but I hear some of the physics on flying is messed up allowing that stuff.

 

I haven't played a good match in awhile. They have all been frustratingly one sided lately, with me on the losing side of course. I mean one round of TDM had 600 tickets. The final score was us: 0 , them: 501. It was just ridiculous.

 

i hate TDM on BF3

i literally ONLY play conquest, with a few occasional rush games here and there...

 

I play rush but really never TDM on BF3.... save TDM for COD

 

I've never touched TDM in this game. I never play it in COD either. The concept just sucks for respawn games

 

i hate how this game sometimes puts you into a game that just ended...

or you spawn next to an enemy.

 

That's my biggest complaint about this game. I hate getting thrown in a match thats half done or a BLOWOUT but when you enter and it ends within seconds it REALLY irritates me. I can deal with spawning next to an enemy because sometimes it works out to your advantage. Just gotta be ready.

well yea its nice too, but like in seine crossing, when you try to spawn at flag C you spawn in the stair area where all of the other team camps out when trying to attack from flag A

usually i tear it up in there, but most of the time they get me right as i spawn

 

The spawns are indeed terrible but if you want faster paced gameplay, squad DM is where its at. Helps a lot when you're with a friend or two so you both know to lock down a certain area so people don't spawn behind you. You level your guns so quickly. TDM is especially bad, IIRC I've seen people spawn in my direct line of sight


still haven't tried out squad Rush. sounds fun. As far as entering a game that's a blowout it sucks but chances are people are leaving the losing team and not all servers have auto-balance. If you were on the losing team and were staying, chances are wouldn't you want more people to join?

though I usually leave if I'm not playing with a friend and the other idiots on the team don't rez or drop ammo.

 

The AN-94 is underrated. If you have discipline with the fire button the 2-shot burst is amazing.

The ironsight is probably the shittiest in the game... coming from someone who doesn't mind irons in general. I hated it at first trying to use it in conquest. But once you get the kobra for it... oh man. and in 2-shot burst if you keep tapping the trigger for CQB it seems like it shoots just as fast as the F2000, if not faster. Foregrip and heavy barrel help too, obv.

I used it in TDM just so I could level it and try out scopes for it but I ended up beasting with it. So far I've only got 75 kills with it, 22 of those being headshots

 

after a bit of digging, the AN-94 has quite the learning curve though. But it's got a cult following. apparently it was OP in BFBC2

 

Man freaking lies, when I unlocked the air radar for the jets it said "permanent upgrade" meaning I thought it would be like the below radar permanent upgrade for helicopters in that you always have it, you don't need to equip it to have it. But no you have to equip it.

Anyways much more useful for finding jets that are attacking you.

 

ok I lied. AEK is still probably the best assault rifle

 

I love extended mags on the m249, freaking hilarious to just pull the trigger and run thru the entire 200 round magazine
