Smile per Mile is here

I know the tl is not comparable to the subi, just want the perfect blend of happiness/cost per mile...
In the US, the SpecB is only on the 2.5 GT. The 3.0R limited is a nice ride with more of a luxury feel. And if you can catch one off lease, or a year old, they are a bargain. they have leather, good stereo, HID's, Navi, etc...

With the SpecB look, the first thing is the JDM front bumper. That really sets it off because it has a short overhang, and the grill choices are pretty good.
Then comes the suspension, then wheels. That's really about it.

Here's an ad for one in NJ...

I see, you are in another country. The enthusiast love here in the US is for the 2.5 turbo. Back when I was looking to buy, was offered a red GT (no L) with an AT for $15,000. They could not move those red cars at any price - What a bargain! But I wanted a silver car with MT...

I don't know who's paint is worse, tsx or subi?

Well, if you want the 6MT, then a spec B GT is the way to go. If you're getting an auto, then the 5EAT is very good in either the 3.0 R or the GT. I just think, given the same HP, that the 3.0 is very smooth throughout the torque band.

Talking More Pics for the masses, 4 anyway

Had the car out and about, so I took some pics. One at the beach (not tough to do on a small island), and an early morning shot.

spooky.

My wheels are actually powdercoated, ftw!

I may have some new summer wheels this year, just depends on finances and being able to find what I want at the right price. I'm going lightweight + wide or bust!

The whole crazy offset thing is big lately, especially with them ROTA's.

Looks schweet, not sure how it would perform though.

I don't think a high offset on a short wheelbase car would perform well, at least not for road use. Drifting makes sense

Definitely looks more oriented towards aesthetic pleasure rather than performance.

Although it does look sweet. The whole low offset thing on Subie's lately has gotten me hooked.

But.. kinda off topic but did you guys here that they're going to offer the STi in auto?

this one looks better, IMO. 18x9.5's. I think it's kinda cool but I probably wouldn't do it either. You have to really work over your fenders to make them fit. I would like to have 8.5" wheels next, but the ones I want only come in 8".

I guess its a matter of taste. I prefer to get rid of the gap, and bring the car down to a ride height that won't hit the stops. I also wouldn't want a wheel that sticks out too much. IMO

something to look forward to... This is from a rotated GT35R Leggy with a full built block and Cosworth bits.

This is low boost pump gas tune (Cali 91 octane piss water). You guys probably have better fuel in Jersey, right?

i blew a headgasket because i was boosting too high and the timing was too aggressive. I was trying to see how hard i could push it since i was going back and forth from drag and autocross, but i guess it was too much for the vf39 turbo. It just wasnt enough for me, I was still getting killed by evos on stock turbos and even GTI's with a k04 kit, which is kinda sad. Those things are quick and i definitely give the MKV's a lot of respect.

yeah. we have 93 octane everywhere and some select sunoco's have 94 Ultra. Also, the sunocos with 94 octane also have 100 octance race gas. At only 6bucks a gallon, its definitely worth it too. I'll be getting a 100 octane race map when i get tuned from MSPT. I can't wait til the build is finish.

Dont want to spoil anything yet, but i'll have pics of the motor soon. I need to keep a journal going of the build.

I didn't hit the lotto, but business is finally starting to pick up. I actually saved up a lot of money last year and was scared to spend it because of the way the market was going, but I guess i was over paranoid from seeing all the other businesses going down. It doesnt hurt to splurge at the moment so I might as well go all out!

Yes, Aaronnn is correct. 18's. Factory wheels at that. The tires are 215/45-18. A very odd size, and expensive ($208 for the OEM Bridgestone Potenza RE50A Z rated, at the Tirerack).

Matt, you're the bomb. The snow pics are very cool. All I can do is some beach stuff, and if I get stuck I don't get a tow but washed out to sea.

I do like how everything behind the Leggy is clean and sterile. It looks ready for a street fight.
