^your post confused the crap outta me, the first one only has like 50000kms on it, the second one is the higher mileage one...
and i believe timing belt should be 160000km, since that's what my 06 wrx is with the 2.5l turbo engine which would be the same as the legacy you posted.
and i think it's a good idea, these engines seem pretty solid, mine has 174000kms already and it works pretty damn well, doesn't show it's mileage at all

But you see what I mean. Maybe if you took a look in the Buffalo / Rochester NY area...Hell, a friend of mine works at Van Bortel Subaru (#2 in all of the USA), about a 3 hour drive for you (Oakville is Toronto area, right?). PM me and I can at least get you a contact.

If an image is not there. it's flickr's fault.

It should already have a catless up pipe so no need for that.
Good bang for the buck would be a downpipe and a flash to stage 2. CBE would also yield some gains along with a lot of extra noise. No need to change the factory BPV or the intake at that performance level.
For a DP look for Cobb, Perrin, Invidia... and a Cobb Accessport for engine management. He could also go with an open source tune (~$200) which would save the cost of the Accessport (~$700). If he's interested in that I know someone who can do it in SoCal.

My friend is getting his COBB AP in couple weeks and trying to find a shop to tune his car and I just remembered you about this.
Thanks in advance!
Three today. This is just down the hill from my place. Maybe 1/2 mile. Enjoy.

All shot with:
Canon T1i (jpeg format, no photochop)
Tamron 10-24 f/3.5-5.6 DI
Hoya 77mm UV(C) filter
Opteka battery grip with 2 batteries (I love this thing).

so my friend with 2010 WRX is planning to order Perrin Catted Downpipe and Cobb AP.
Perrin catted DP @ $589
Cobb AP @ 595
are these good prices?? these are shipped prices.
and as for the Cobb AP, how does he install them? are they just plug and play thingy?? or does he have to go to a reputable shop to install it.

For my car I needed a fuel pump and injectors, which I already had. What I was really waiting for was a station that sold E85.
E85 is 105 octane, so you can run more boost and timing without fear of detonation. I expect that when it's said and done my E85 tune will make 30 more WHP and 40 more WTQ than my 92 octane map.
Drawbacks are tough cold starts. I won't be able to run this fuel in winter. You also don't get as good of fuel milage. I'm probably getting 5mpg less in town. But it also costs less. $2.52 per gallon compared to $3.19 for 92.

^ Very jealous!
Did you ever get it back?
dropped it off at the shop 2 weeks ago. ripping apart the motor, doing a full build. cosworth internals, 1100cc injectors, sti heads/intake manifold setup, full race GT35R turbo, full race twin scroll manifold, front mount, and also getting the 6speed specB trans built.
500wheelhp here i come
but i wont be seeing my car for a while.... stuck with the mdx til then.

Two of my favorite cars right now are the 2010 Acura RL and the 2010 Subaru Legacy, damn that new legacy looks really nice from the rear angles.
Though I just ordered a 2011 E92 328i, once I become a family man I'll definately get the legacy, such a nice looking vehicle!!!

I would LOVE a Legacy in spec.B trim. Any wind of Subaru coming out with one of these?

Or a really good 5th Generation in the GT300 series here.....

I paid $1100 for my BBK slightly used back in 2006. It's closer to $2000 new. I've put 60k miles on the brakes since then and they're finally shot. I'm doing new front rotor rings, bolt kit, pads f&r, turning rear rotors and new fluid in the very near future.
