Looks right at home with the roof racks and the house, all that is missing is a little bit of snow.

I was helping out one of my cousin's car shopping and among his choices was the Legacy 2.5GT Spec-B. I had no intention of buying the car at all but test drove it myself anyways. Car is very planted in the corners, the boxer 4 sounds absolutely great as well. I liked the overall interior design, the pilarless windows and all other little details. Easily a car I would recommend to anyone because I would buy one myself if I was in the market.

You can be proud of your car mrmako.

Wow, um, I'm speechless.....

The thing that gets a lot of people is they think, "Oh, Subaru, don't lesbians drive those". Or this, "I'm not looking for a wagon". All I can say is give the car a chance. Once you drive it, it will surprise you. It may not sway you away from , lets say, an Audi, but if you need the extra $10 - 15K in your pocket, then it's worth a look. More so if you go slightly used.

Now, with the GT in the US, just go to cobbtuning.com and you can easily get the car to 300 - 350 HP without breaking the bank.

Agreed. I’m a huge Subaru fan and the BL6 was a great platform. I like their tourquey boxer fours and unique awd layout. Definitely a lot to love..

Hey guys, which online Subaru WRX forum is the best one out there? My friend is picking up the 2010 Subaru WRX 5-doors Premium this Saturday, so I'm just trying to help him out with finding the right forum.

By the way, we went to the dealership yesterday to test drive it. It's a beast! It looks very handsome too!

I saw a new STi the other day. It's ... intriguing, let's say.

Way over my budget but it makes me wish Mazda's Speed3 was AWD.

You know, my friend got his WRX for 25K even. I got my MS3 for 23K even. As for the STi, it's stickered at 38K, but I'm sure they will be happy to give it up at 34K even.

The base WRX is a great choice imo, the premium models are not only hard to find (my friend waited about a month trying to find black or white WRX Premium, he couldn't find it in the west coast), but also a little bit overpriced because it only adds speakers, sunroof, and heatseats. That's it.

I'm sure you'll be VERY happy with the base WRX which can be had it for 25K even.

Yes, I wished my Speed3 was AWD, but I really think Mazda made a great business decision by sticking with FWD and low sticker price.

Anyway, it's time for you to get a new car.

Car goes to the shop on Monday for the windshield and chip in the door and then it's a detail and up for sale.

Hope to have it ready by about the 16th. I'll owe just under $16k on it so I'm hoping to get a decent amount of $$ back on a sale.

Cool Real Bump

Here's a better bump than usual. I took the car to the beach (actually, I had some business at an Army base and it's at their beach).

Also, I'm testing out my Canon T1I. All shots were with a Tamron 28-70mm f2.8 DI Lens, and my Canon 24mm f2.0 prime:

And here's one of the subwoofer I installed. It's an Alpine SWE-2200. It costs about $375, and hooks up to your existing speakers. It has a separate 100 Watt amp and a controller (level and crossover). 2 8" drivers, downward firing, with a port out the left side. I don't need to shake the license plates, but it fills in very nicely. I don't think you can get them in the US, though

More in the future...

I have that same lens for my Nikon D90 ... Use it to shoot hoops. It's a great piece of glass ... My D90 isn't as good as that lens

Where do you guys purchase OEM parts?

My friend who just bought 2010 WRX wants to purchase a pair of OEM foglights..

He found one here: http://www.subarupartsforyou.com/cp_...p?partid=12621

But I was wondering if there's some cheaper places to get em. Thank you!

If your friend wants OEM, and maybe JDM to boot, he can try japanparts.com and their selection for Subaru is pretty good.

^ Thank you!

As for the performance modification, which brand is generally the best for WRX 08+? There are so many options..

Me and my friend are both new to this turbocharged engines, so we really don't know what to mod in general.

Is it like intake, uppipe (i don't know why my MS3 doesn't have this as mod), downpipe, BOV (BPV for me, don't know why), and exhaust?

It should already have a catless up pipe so no need for that.

Good bang for the buck would be a downpipe and a flash to stage 2. CBE would also yield some gains along with a lot of extra noise. No need to change the factory BPV or the intake at that performance level.

For a DP look for Cobb, Perrin, Invidia... and a Cobb Accessport for engine management. He could also go with an open source tune (~$200) which would save the cost of the Accessport (~$700). If he's interested in that I know someone who can do it in SoCal.

Just came back from a Subaru dealer over my lunch hour. Thoroughly impressed with the entire lineup. The interior fit and Finish, layout and quality of the '10 Legacy are all top notch. Forester was nice as well.

Wouldn't mind trading in the Ody for an Outback.

May have to go back to test drive an Outback. I'm not a huge fan of the exterior styling of the Legacy, but it seems to work well in Outback form.

I think the new model, due in 2012, will give the front end a more aggressive, less fugly look. I'm ok with the current look, but the previous one is better IMO.

You could try this:

Spec B in Oakville

But the Km's are high. If the service records are good, and the timing belt has been changed (100K Km's is about right), then it should be OK. It is a 6 MT, so he's charging a bit too much. He should come down a bit on this.

This is a better deal, and you get all of the same dynamics of the GT, just some extra utility...

Northbay GT Wagon

That one may be far from you (I don't know), but it looks like a better deal. And it's not an Outback, so no lesbaru tag.....

^your post confused the crap outta me, the first one only has like 50000kms on it, the second one is the higher mileage one...
and i believe timing belt should be 160000km, since that's what my 06 wrx is with the 2.5l turbo engine which would be the same as the legacy you posted.
and i think it's a good idea, these engines seem pretty solid, mine has 174000kms already and it works pretty damn well, doesn't show it's mileage at all
