Get a 3.0R.....and some envy....
You're in Canada. I would look at importing a 3.0R specB 6MT, and be the envy of quite a few Subaru owners. I tried really hard to get one, but the $3000 premium and the fact that I live on an island 67 miles long (with a lot of traffic lights) helped me make my decision. It would be cool to be the only one in Canada with one.....
They're still around $22K for an 2006. My 5EAT cost about $18,800. Maybe in about 6 to 12 months, the price will come down a touch, but the trade in time for vehicles in Japan is at the 3 year and 5 year point (this has to do with the JCI procedures, and road tax, etc...).
Just a thought...... And some more pics for the thread:

i really want a 05 LGT spec.B since i believe this is the last year before the face lift and ass cheek implants, and i think this is the only 6-speed lgt before the face lift.

There was no SpecB in '05. First year was '06. First year with a 6 speed was '07, which is pre-facelift. So you want an '07.

If you're easy on it, you can get about 20 mpg.....If you drive it like you stole it, it's not so good. And you'll do that once you take it for a test drive.

I average ~ 18 in town, but my car has quite a few mods including injectors, making around 300 whp. Mid 20's on the highway while stil having some fun. My rack certainly robs some fuel economy.
A stock GT could get better mileage. Some of the guys at LGT.com get over 30 on the highway.

im on a stage 2 tune.
tmic, turboback, intake, and other little mods. full protune and pushing close to 300. im getting about 25mpg highway and 22mpg on hard city driving. i dont think i ever got anything under 20 before, except for after autocrossing.. but even then my avg mpg doesn't drop too much under the 20 mark.

Mattg: Most of the information I have found for hopping up a Subaru is squarely centered on the EJ25 and EJ20. I have looked around for EZ30 upgrades, but it's not that easy. Do you know of anything for the NA crowd (and not the 2.5i neutered, the 3.0)? Thanks.

Also, look for a member named SeeeeeYa, he just traded his heavily modded GT for an '09 3.0R. I can't imagine he will be leaving it stock.

I assume you've perused LGT.com for this info? I would think that an intake (or drop in filter) and exhaust would be a good place to start. There is a guy over there with the screen name Tomcat, his 3.0 is supercharged with a bunch of other goodies - http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68613

Holy crap this is good stuff. Especially the info from saurus3009 in Saudi. I may not SC, but at least a new intake, maybe some exhaust work (I could actually go true dual, but I don't think it will be worth the $$$ for the HP gain, which would be small).
Mr_luv: That is one nice LGT. I really hate white, but for some reason, yours looks really good. Nice work.

It does seem like the USDM bumper sticks out too far. The JDM is much nicer .
Here's a link to the accessory catalog:
http://www.subaru.jp/accessory/legacy/
Once there, the second picture is the virtual catalog, click on it. Once in, the pages are turned with a single left mouse click (for Windows format, single click for Mac users). Use those part numbers to give to http://japanparts.com. They will fill orders for the good stuff.

More love.....
I'm in So. FLA right now, so I don't have many new pics, and dirty ones at that. Once I get back to Japan, more will follow......

Hmmm... Well, I see where the front end has a WRX/STI resemblence. Is this the N. American Auto show car? If they added a little more interior room, went for a FMIC (knock out the area under the grille and body color bumper where the 3 lines are), and had a bit less wheel arch, then it would work. Minor quibbles but I like the current model.

ew.
at least we know that subaru wont be doing that. looking at their current design trend, they would probably stay more conservative with their designs. look at the current impreza, forester, and tribeccas. all of which became very dulled down from their previous generations.

The LGT is a great car, in retrospect it would make me happier than the tsx. Reason I didn't get the LGT was the depreciation hit that turbo 4's take, and I couldn't get any dealer down to $25,000 at the time.
Maybe the Leg now comes in 6 cylinder?

3.0R spec B seems to clear out my concerns, except price. But who cares, bring it in at under $30,000 and it is a keeper. I thought my next car would be the awd tl 6mt, but the baru should be so much cheaper. This cheapness is what landed me in the tsx.
I know the tl is not comparable to the subi, just want the perfect blend of happiness/cost per mile...
