The Official Wagon/Avant Discussion Thread
Coupla recent sales on BaT.
I always liked the SportCross, although it seems like more of a hatch than a wagon.
And the 300TDs are real tanks.

Would gladly DD either.
Wish the IS had been available with a manual. My aunt had a 5MT sedan & it was a blast.
Always loved the TD.
I had a W123 240D sedan. Hindsight, perfect car for a 16 yr old. 64hp & 0-60 better measured with a calendar

Technically a "SUV/Crossover," but lowered, as it is, I think this might qualify as a "wagon."
Well ... ok, maybe more of a hot-hatch. Anyways ...

There was a 4th gen Civic hatchback in the US. Also with real time AWD too.
the backend also reminds me of the 1st gen CRV.

Apparently the EF-gen Civic was available as a wagon ("wagovan") in the USDM in the mid-1980s.
And that vehicle is now being touted by auto journos in recent years (c. 2022) as the conceptual predecessor to the CR-V.
Can't stand the CR-V, its overwhelming popularity notwithstanding
, but this bit of history is interesting.

Well, the S is noticeably bigger than the other 2, definitely stands out.
But I do agree. MB is moving to a very homogenous look with the sedans.
I loved the look of the W205 C over it's E-class big sister.
In photos they may blob together a bit, but it's a lot more noticeable in person.

I agree to some extent, but if you see it further out and there isn’t another vehicle near for size reference you can easily mistake it. If you park next to it, for sure size will be noticeable.
in general I have not been a fan of the forced homogenized styling of brands. Personally, I don’t feel the need to have the same nose on all Acuras. In the 90s, I never mistook an NSX for the Vigor, or the Legend. I also never thought the Legend was a Buick because all Acuras didn’t have the same grill.
