I bought mine 2 years ago for $12,500 w/ 115k. High mileage doesn't scare me if I have a good service history & good inspection

Alright, here it is. 2005 Silverstone, 95k miles, two-owner vehicle. It's a local vehicle since new and has all service records from a Honda dealership. It's not perfect; the front right fender needs to be buffed and there are a few very minor dents. Minus a AEM intake and black Work lug nuts, it's completely stock. The previous owner only averaged 5400 miles per year for the last 7 years.

I'm going to create a thread in Car Talk to expand more and not whore out this thread, but I'm very very excited about this. I've been drooling over S2ks for about 11 years and nearly bought one instead of my TL back in 2008. I was driving it home and kept thinking "I finally have one. I finally fucking have one".

As for waiting until next year...yeahhhhhhhh about that I was heartbroken after backing out of the 2006 a few weeks back. This one popped up and figured I would go check it out. I talked to the future wifey and she basically pushed me into it. "You've been wanting one forever. You can afford it. Just do it! No modding for a year though or else I'll beat your ass."

As for a few things I would like to change in the immediate future; window tint, headunit with iPod connectivity and Bluetooth, and a personalized plate once everything clears with the DMV. I have a Covercraft sunshade incoming along with some 303 Aerospace Protectant for the roof.

I really couldn't be happier. The only issue with the car is the driver considering before Tuesday I hadn't driven a stick in 6 years The throws are really short compared to the Wrangler and 90s Civic that I had practiced in before, so I've gone from 2nd to 5th a few times and 5th to 4th instead of 6th. I'm no Mario Andretti but I manage

Alright, enough rambling. Here are a few pictures after it's inaugural cleaning this evening.

Mods? Shieeeetttt. I've been forbidden to buy any parts until next year, per wifey, however she supports the window tint and headunit idea. I need new floormats since these have seen better days and the front passenger quarter panel needs some love from an orbital. I want to get it in great stock condition before really messing with anything. Of course coilovers, front lip, and catback are on the list, but that's all stuff for 2016. All of my attention and money has been going towards the house since the purchase in March. I'm ecstatic just to have a S2k, so it's current condition will be fine for a bit

Buy one in the midwest. Provided that you can find one that was never driven in the winter, there won't be any rust on it and it'll have low miles. The costs here are astronomical anyway but probably less than CA.

If that is a clean car with clean title and stock, it's the deal of the decade.

I tell people the S2k is kid friendly all the time...in that you can't put kids in it.

That said, you should buy a S2000.

Congrats man, looks beautiful! Welcome to the club, you'll like it here.

Also huge +1 to the shifter. I went to test drive a FoST before buying the Jeep and thought the transmission was broken with how long (relatively) the throws are on that vs the S.

Congrats again and here's to many years of smiles and positive experiences.

Now go change out all the drivetrain fluids.

Hey Tyler,

Try the UK mod...shouldn't cost you much. You might be happy with that. Local friend that has an NSX drove it (he's an acura tech) and thought I had an exhaust

I didn't know it originally but this S2000 came with an ipod adapter that works with the radio. It doesn't display, but it plays just fine and the ipod shows a Honda icon on it when it's plugged in...might be a cheap alternative to getting your tunes

You're removing tint? Or just redoing it? Doesn't look purple to me.

If you can find some espelir springs...they give a great drop and ride was pretty nice IIRC. Cheap alternative to coils. If you do go coils, I highly recommend the H&R Street Performance I got...they dampen like a damn German car and are smooth.

I bought brand new OEM mats with the Silver car and they looked kinda dingy pretty quickly for as much as they cost. I bought these (especially since you see all the weather seasons) and absolutely love them.

I got the extended ones that cover the crossmember bump
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEXOMAT-All-Weather-Heavy-Duty-Floor-Mats-Front-Mats-CUSTOM-Honda-/261845287810?var=&hash=item3cf7320382&vxp=mtr
I'm beyond happy for you, my friend. As the guy that gave me the little nudge in the backside to buy my first S2000...I always had my fingers crossed for it to be "the right time" for you to join us here.

This this this.

Espelir springs & OEM shocks is the perfect combo if you're on a budget. I'm currently running the same setup and it's a little lower than stock, but you don't sacrifice a lot of ride quality and the performance is improved.

Thanks fellas

I'm so excited about this damn car. I left for work 20 minutes early just so I could drive around for a bit longer

J, as for the iPod adapter, I noticed that the headunit has an AUX button. I could be blind but I sure as hell didn't see anywhere to plug in an external source. Any ideas? Those floormats look great too! Thanks mang!

A drop will happen eventually, though I don't think it looks horrible as-is. There are other aesthetic things I want to knock out first before I really start messing with it. I'm trying to make a decade-old vehicle look brand new, to the best of my abilities of course, and that's my priority. I've wanted this car for SO long...I don't want to rush into anything and forget how fortunate I am just to have one.

stay away from
moddiction dot com
modifry dot com
s2kgetsyoulaid dot com (mostly with other young guys though)

There is an aux, but it was likely for optional xm or changer, maybe...but it works...there's an add on that works with the oem radio, I'm just not sure what it is...it came with my car but it's definitely not just in there.

actually, might be a usaspecipod integration unit. guess I just got lucky...

if you were to spend the $100 I'd rather it go to an aftermarket better radio. I do dig keeping the oem looking radio though.

look into the modifry dci unit, it keeps the dash functionality (AND THEN SOME!) with aftermarket radios. Chip has that.
