dealers will ask what dumbfucks will pay. and How often do you walk on to a Honda Dealer lot and see an S2k.. much less one with low miles?
they'll set the price high, and haggle, and still make some interest and fees.
its a dealer!

I bitched out. The timing just isn't right, even though I kept telling myself that it was. I'm still searching and trying to learn as much as possible, but it'll probably be next year until it actually happens.
This is the car I was going to call mine yesterday: http://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/cto/5009560911.html
I'm heartbroken

All good man, if the timing isn't right .. it isn't right. You have the wifey's approval, that IMHO is the hardest part.
S2000s will always be here.

Beautiful car, would have been a great example to have. There will be more that come up though so no worries. Keep your eyes open and pounce when you find an exceptional deal.

I was wide awake until nearly 5am on Saturday second guessing the purchase. If I was feeling that crappy about it without even seeing the car, it wasn't meant to be. I want it, I REALLY do, but I can't justify the financial burden right now. I took a pretty big hit with buying a house two months ago and I'm still trying to rebuild and get back to where I was.
The right car will come along at the right time. I just need to be patient. Maybe I can find a LBP after all
J, maybe you can find another one in March and I can get yours

One of my s2k friends rocks that set up. I go to the canyons with him a lot. Looks and sounds super fast. haha He's actually a very good driver. 2:00 at Buttonwillow.

And that does look awesome...on a track. On the street it's a bit 2fast2furious for my tastes but, IMO, my tastes are extremely conservative.

It does look super aggressive on the street. Whenever I drive somewhere with my friends with the GT wings, literally everyone on the street looks at the car. Every single person. haha

Definitely don't need it for just DDing. It actually kills your gas efficiency. LOL

That was a rare find with low mileage. Like everyone said, there is always a car for sale. Kudos to making the smarter decision even if it isn't the fun one at times.
I've been trying to pick up my friends S2k for over a year now but he won't sell. I took one around the track for a few laps and just realized how much fun it is. But now the question becomes to keep it bone stock and enjoy it or fully convert it and have fun.... It's GPW over red with 15,000 kms..first owner. He's been looking at other cars so hopefully my patience pays off.

I really wanted it. Hell, I still do. I keep second guessing myself However, I know waiting is the right decision in the long run.

agreed. and certainly not stock.
with some better wheels and a slight drop they start to grow on me.
also this.
some of my favorite S2ks I've seen were non-CR AP2s with just the CR lip and the drop top...
especially in Berlina.

SamDoe speaks da troof.
If it's mint, keep it mint. It's still PLENTY of fun to drive in stock form and it will be worth waaaaaay more in the long run if kept pretty. That color combination in itself is highly sought after.
If you want to mod, buy a higher mileage one. Shit happens at the track. Don't destroy a perfect example car. Modding may increase the fun factor, but it hurts your pocket in more ways than one.

I haven't decided what to do yet when it gets to the 150-170k range though.
do I just stop driving it and take it out occasionally, or do I give it a Vikings death and start to track it hard until she's laid to rest?
it just hit 120k and its running super healthy and clean. but all good things come to an end. and im not sure how to go about it with the S lol.

hell, you could get a CR for that price.
and as mentioned before.. something that old with that low of miles would spark my interest on the all the rubber seals and gaskets. how long did it sit etc.?

Ya I guess you'll never know how much it was driven.
Again the question is for something that clean do you leave it alone / keep for a collectable

^ I'm sure that's what the PO was doing. I bet this was owned by some old guy who bought it and just let it be because it was a little much for him to drive a lot. I'm guessing he's no longer able to keep it (or isn't around anymore) and his family sold it to the dealership.
