Thanks, man...I agree with you, the whole week I thought the wheels were +35, I was having nightmares about fender bacon. Low and behold...they show up at +42 and I'm like...mannnnn, I am a lucky mofo!

I actually have a lip spoiler for the trunk that I bought (like last time) but the yellow doesn't match well.

Seriously though...looks like a great time, man. Loved the video. Thanks for sharing.

Well, I got a killer deal on wheels I'd been eyeballing. Fenders rolled, bumpers trimmed, tab moved back...golden...no rubbing. Also put in the ecoated black premium centric rotors, cleaned up the pads, regreased everything and painted calipers black.

Thanks to Dennis' recommendation, I went Sumi HTR Z3...215/245 stock combo...wheels are 17*8 +45 and 17*9 +42 (funny, what I ordered was +35, which I was afraid wouldn't fit well...what arrived was 42 which wasn't even an option on the site. I was SOOO relieved! ).
Thanks J! Only other videos I have of us is 2 other AutoX runs, not whatever you were thinking

I'd recommend getting your S out there one of these days

By the way, the wheels are tits! I love the way it contrasts with Rio - perfect combo.

I've thought about doing some AutoX sessions, but for some reason, I'm not that into it. I know a lot of FRS/BRZ members on the forum are getting a great results from AutoX though.
To each his own - I loved the Chuckwalla trackday, but AutoX gave me the same adrenaline rush for 1/3rd of the price and it was 2 minute from my girlfriend's place. It was a no-brainer really.

No offense taken! Seriously, I thought of the same exact thing We actually joked about her wearing booty shorts w/ a low cut shirt

I would highly recommend it! Not only would you learn a lot about car control and weight transfer, you learn a lot about the sport. SCCA hosts Championships every month or two and people get down right serious

Tyler does!
Well, didn't want to offend you, but I definitely noticed the angle and gravity doing it's thing...lmao.

yeah man...I think the taking it seriously is why I get turned off...I would like to learn and practice and all that but I don't like when it gets all competitive and people take themselves too seriously. I feel like it moves from joy to widget counting. Maybe I'll give it a whirl to know for myself.

You don't have to take it seriously

I was "turned off" from going to the SCCA events since I thought they were too serious, but as soon as I went to my first one I realized I was being silly. Lots of people feel the same way (wrongly). Everyone there is super nice and accommodating to novices

...though taking it seriously is the fun part for me now.

That's my current dilemma - I drive too much & too aggressively to make a set of summer tires last more than 6 months. I went through 3 sets of tires last year alone and none of which were summer tires ... couldn't imagine my tire bill if I jump ship.

But ... but ... dat performance doh

That's crazy......

How many miles do you drive per year?

I used my RS3 tires that came with the RPF1s for 10 months covering 9K miles. I went through countless canyon runs and about 6 track days on those used tires.

Just got myself a new set of RS3 two months ago and I think I can last another 9-10K miles on them.

MAYBE I'M JUST A NOOB!?

Tyler,

Maybe if you get the real tires, you won't spin through the turns...... so less wear on the them!?

I drove around 26,000 last year .. not to mention I was trying to powerslide & do donuts any chance I had.

I am moving closer to work in the next couple of months and the new car excitement has gone down quite a bit, I predict this year will have much less driving

That was only 1 time!

I agree, summer tires would have kept my car on the road & more controllable, jerk.

........ didn't you spin out with a set of summer tires?

Jeez...I don't know if I could handle 8 inches. Maybe back in my college days

Yeah, I know the feeling...I have the oem spoiler rep and the yellow doesn't match well enough to slap it on either. Dammit.

The only thing I really like about my car still being all AP1 outside, is that it shows the age/condition of the car. tells the story of the maintenance.

my Car parked near AP2's (some even in the 06+ range), just puts them to shame in terms of upkeep, inside and out.
its like a badge of honor.

my engine bay is my cherry on top though.

Then wrap it in CF if you don't want to have it repainted.

OEM > aftermarket anyday in terms of headlights. The OEM s2k projector specifically is very coveted and often used as a benchmark to other projectors in terms of build quality, beam width, and output.

The Retrofit Source | Innovative Headlight Upgrades

The price speaks for itself

I know but i heard the Depo ones are just as good. They are not the same as the cheap angel eye crap headlight company.

Getting a pair of AP2 headlights in good condition at a reasonable price is not easy and they are too expensive buying brand new.

Nevermind they don't even make it for S2000.

Honestly, if you can get the oem for cost and sell your old ones on craigslist, it won't more than a couple hundy to upgrade.

I hate the CF mismatched look, or I'd go that route.

Majestic Honda Sells the AP2 headlight set for $880 shipped.

that's not a small chunk of change, but for brand new OEM headlights, its really not that bad.
and as mentioned, you cant beat the fit and finish.
