There was one 2004 that popped up around me when I was looking in silverstone/black ~40k good shape for $18k at a Lexus dealership, went and checked it out the day it went online and it was sold before I could call the sales guy back. He told me it sold at $19k because there was a bidding war.

That's why I'm saying what I'm saying.
If you've made up your mind and love Laguna and low miles...forget what you think you know about what is reasonable to pay and spend that brand new civic money on your dream roadster. IF you have the money, duh.

Call them up and ask them if it's still there. LBP and low miles...it'll get picked up really quick if it's in good shape with clean title.

Financially I can afford it but my income is better off paying students loans, rent/possible house, the TL and of course bud lights. If I were to get one it would be less expensive ($10-15k) early next spring, enjoy it for the summer then sell it for whatever. I wouldn't mind losing a g or two for a summer fling

An S2000 would not be practical in your case, but it is sure fun to think about
On a side note, I just realized that I will be coming up on my 2nd year of ownership
Time frickin' flies.

I would have one if I could fit inside it. But at 6'5" it just wont work.

they literally make a roof that goes down for anyone over 6 feet. The car was built for you, man! I won't say you'll have extra face, but if you're not chubby (I am)...I can't imagine an additional 4" height to be a deal breaker. You can look OVER the windshield.

So you buy an overpriced s2000 for 25k. In two years, that s2000 can likely still fetch 23-25k, because, well, everyone wants a clean specimen (assuming it stays that way)
Or you go buy a new civic for 25k, and in two years it'll be worth 16k.
I think you see where I'm going with this...

You're right about the roof though. It still clears my head, albeit just barely

I just drove by and its parked out back. The love for it is there but its just not practical. With the snow coming I wouldnt be able to drive it for 4-5 months anyway

That LBP for $25k is pretty much market value for a late model AP2 in that color. You'll find similar asking prices on s2ki for a similar car and those aren't even from a dealership.

I'd be happy with Sebring Silver too. Does this look familiar to anyone ?

You're right. It was more of an acceptance that if I was to lose any money I would be 100% ok with it.

The thing is- none of us really keeps a car forever. Not these days, anyway.

That's a fucking no brainer for me.. if i can drive a car for two years and get all my money back, why the hell not?! It's like a free rental!

I'm 6'1" 145 lbs here. Fits fine for 15 minutes and gets uncomfy after. One of the reasons why I never pulled the trigger on one.

Honestly, I'm sort of confused where you're going. I can't tell if you're pro or against buying an overpriced s2k.. Sounds like pro but reads like against.

The same can't be said about a new Civic. Many people would be like "oh, but it's a brand new car with brand new features and has warranty and blah blah blah", which is true, but drive it for 2 years and you lose a lot of value. The s2000 won't.
So while you may be overpaying for it, if you end up selling it a couple years down the road, you're not really losing anything, besides maybe what you paid to finance the car. That in itself would be a fraction of what a new Civic would depreciate.

It's ok, it happens.
Also, give me your credit card, raise your limit to about 28k (just in case) and I'll be back in a short while with something to make you happy (and no, it's not THAT kind of happy).

It's that time of year where my car feels neglected...
