@ Rockstar.

It's an 03 AV6/6MT w/71000. Already dropped on Neuspeed springs, AEM V2, sub/amp. Previous owner kept a log of maintenance records. Pretty good shape, just needs a little TLC.

Now to figure out how to get either XM or an Ipod connection on this bad boy. Oh, and regular maintenance.

so i guess my stock exhaust and stock springs/shocks +$500 is either in the right range, or a tad bit high.

considering $900-$1000 seems to be the going rate for new.

Yea, Id probably low ball him and give him a $350 offer, go up from there. I wouldnt spend more then $450 on it though since youre giving him the stock stuff.

Does anyone have an AUX installed? Any 03 owners swap in a radio to get XM?

Anybody know if 04-08 TL Tein SS will fit 07 accord fine?

I know that front spring rates are different. What difference can this make?

Congrats on the new 6mt coupe!!! It looks awesome!

I installed a USA Spec iPod connector in my '03 Coupe. It worked awesome, way better than the current XCarLink iPod connector I have in my MS6. Excellent sound quality and you can use the steering wheel controls to change tracks and fast forward through songs. The install isn't the most fun as you have to pull out the center console and top dash/vent piece, but once everything's out you just plug it into the back of the radio and you're good to go.

Sounds like the route to go.

I had to pull the entire dash and center console out TWICE in the Subaru to first put in XM, and then to put in an AUX cable, both from 07s. Very time consuming, but achievable. Ugh.

been thinking about picking up a 7th gen 6 speed coupe when my lease is up. It's certainly not a deal breaker, but one thing that im puzzled about is the situation with upgrading the audio. If i bought a non navi one, I would most likely want to put a double din screen in the dash. Do they make a dash kit that can allow for that? I personally don't want to use the cubby hole at the bottom and keep a non functioning radio in the dash.

any aftermarket radio that you would want to use up top, would need to be custom.

i would estimate about 99% of people use the cubby at the bottom, its just easier.

also, the portion up top also includes your AC/heat controls, so its not completely useless, you still use the controls up there more than you think.
but i understand your delimma.

Nexson over on Vee6Pee does customer bezel work if needed though.

I've seen some that use one at the top, but they are ugglay. Will try to dig up some pictures, but trust me, when it comes to head units, your best bet is to either use the cubby hole or just stick with the stock one.

Metra makes a dash kit for non-navi cars and maybe navi cars (not sure based on website) that allows for a double din installation. They have the version for dual climate control and single climate control.

IMO, if you are going to put in a system with a navi in it (like a pioneer AVIC) or something, there's no need to buy a model with a navi in it in the first place if your going to remove it.

Well had my Accord for a few months now and only have 1 complaint....the seats suck they are not comfortable at all!

Other then that, it's a great day to day car! I've been getting around 30mpg with more highway driving.

I could've told you that. Im not sure what they changed from the 7th gen, but the 7th gen seats were much more comfortable.

Alex,

The seats being uncomfortable are so true! My GF has an ex non leather and man those things are firm. No give whatsoever. glad youre enjoying the good gas mileage though!

...

And to everyone that replied to my question about the head unit in the 7th gens... thanks! have been keeping my eye out for a couple of different replacements for my Altima come may... 7th gen accord 6 speed is among them.. along with: 02/03 6 speed maxima, infiniti I35, Lexus GS400/430... and the CL 6 speed... its going to come down to what I can find in the condition I want it in come may. Looking forward to sharing it with you guys when the time comes though.

sorry to post yet again, but I am curious if the 06-07 AV6 Automatic Trannys have the same issues as the 99-05's did... I did a lot of googling but not sure about the answer... Trying to potentially broaden my search for cars if the MT is hard to come by, but I dont want to consider the auto if it can potentially fail like my 02 TLS did.

The post 05s seem to be much more reliable, and that's a safe claim now that the cars have aged a bit. But there have been a few isolated occurrences of busted transmissions.

I would feel comfortable buying an AT manufactured after 2005, but MT > all. Have patience and you will come across the perfect car.

As far as the navigation goes, the link you posted looks very similar to Autosoul's piece for the 7th gen:

Your link:

Autosoul:

In which case, I would like to direct you to this thread:

http://www./forums/showthread.php?t=...light=Autosoul

Long story short, stay the eff away from this product. It has caused absolutely nothing but problems for those who took part in the group buy, and all were screwed over by "Simon", the person who handled the group buy.

Sorry to say this, but when it comes to aftermarket radio/head units, your options are very limited. If I were you, I would get an 06/07 car with factory navigation, as I believe the head units in those cars are a little bit more powerful.

Have fun finding an MMC Accord with 6MT and navigation!

Stay far far away from that navigation setup.
