I really like it, it has some highway drone from 65-70 but it's nice and subtle for the most part and "clean" sounding.
Let's get that meet goin on the 30th and you can have a listen.

I had the 07 EX-L V6 sedan for a few years and now have a 12 EX sedan. Although it needs about 15-20 lb-ft more torque, I generally like the 8G more than the 7G.

Ive had experience with an '03 EX-L V6-6 coupe, an '04 EX-L V6 sedan, an '05 LX coupe, an '08 EX-L V6 sedan (replaced the '04), and an '08 EX-L V6-6 coupe. The only car I didnt put any more then ~300 miles on was the '05 coupe. My thoughts:
7G over 8G: More comfortable seats, better driving dynamics, V6 felt more powerful, better fuel economy, more visibility in both sedan and coupe, didn't feel like a tank in turn-in, better looking (subjective), steering much more communicative.
8G over 7G: V6-6 coupe is faster, more rear seat room? Other then that Im really having a hard time coming up with more positives for this gen.

Indeed. Hence the nature of internet forums, and the internet in general. Now that we've got that tidbit out of the way....
Similarly on my part (and beyond my own pinks), 07 Accord K24 sedan, 07 Accord V6 Hybrid, 08 EX-L V6 Navi (....and for shits and giggles, 04 TL 5AT, 07 TL-S 5AT, 12 TL base).....so I've done a round or two the Accord neighborhood. ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Here's a few (again sedan vs sedan):
- handles as good as the 7G despite the added dimensions
- better forward visibility
- better ride quality
- larger trunk space which better accommodates a Baby Jogger City Select stroller while simultaneously allowing for other tangible uses.
- has a less blah look and more 'road presence' than the 7G (subjective)
...again, I can only vouch for our actual use of both vehicles while in 'family of 4-6 mode'.

I drove an 8G 6-6 Coupe and I thought it felt a lot bigger and "grown up" than my 7G.
It's hard to compare the two since my 7G is modified with good suspension, good tires and slightly bigger RSB. I wonder how the 8G 6-6 would handle with similar mods?
I think it would make a huge difference.
To each his own

^ My biggest gripe with the 8G V6-6 coupe is the open diff. With so much torque, turning off the TCS/VSA results in lighting up one tire in corner exit, and leaving it on kills all power in first and second and occasionally third.

I would like to try out the 8G 6-6. When I had the 07 AV6 5AT, I tried out the 08 AV6 5AT it didn't feel as though had a 27hp/42lb-ft advantage over my 07. I suspect that the main culprit is the J35Z2 attached to the 5AT as opposed to the Z3 in the 6-6 (read: VCM FTL).

Quarterlife Crisis....

I would suspect that the 8G 6/6 has marginally worse fuel economy than the 7G 6/6. I know I had a hard time cracking 30 mpgs in the modded TL-S 6/6 (I/E/J) (with the same displacement), but I can hit it easily with the 7G 6/6 with just the Intake. The 7G is lighter and one can feel it.
Havent had an experience with an 8G though, so I'm using the TL-S as an adequate replacement for comparison.

My brothers 8G V6-6 averages about 27-28mpg on the highway. I dont have highway MPG numbers from the 7G V6-6 Ive driven, but my CL gets 32mpg highway.
The best the 8G EX-L V6 got was 29mpg. Compare that to the 7G EX-L V6 which regularly got 31mpg on the highway, and that was without VCM.

Hey folks, I'm going through talks with a 7th gen accord owner at the moment, a straight trade for my 01 CL is in the works so I might join the 7th gen owners club soon ![Yum](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/yum.gif)
Quick question though... are there any recommended pre-assembled Projector/HID headlamps for the 7th gen or is it strictly a DIY thing? I'm looking at a max of ~ $300.

Aftermarket projector headlamps typically suck. Your best bet is to retro.

You could always get a pair of Morimoto Mini H1s or D2s' and fab up a bracket to use in the Accord reflector. No real work required, just bend some metal, then lock the projector in the reflector.
I would suggest running a larger shroud to take up more of the reflector, otherwise theyd look very small.

Im running the Sylvania Silver Star Ultras in my FR-S. While there is a big improvement over stock, they pale in comparison to the CL back when it had reflector based HIDs.
And definitely check out v 6 p for lights for sale. I tend to see them from time to time.

Inspire headlights: Hard to get and expensive as HELL ![what](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/what.gif)
They look great, but I would be afraid of driving around with them on my car.
I had Sylvanias on my Accord as well, much better than stock. The 7G really has a crappy beam pattern.

^ not that hard.. just pricey is all.
but still can be had for a set of used ones for same price as morimoto H1 kits
of course you'd have to find someone that makes the harness or try it out yourself..
but after making countless amounts of the harnesses.. its not all that hard once you know which connectors do what... and the whole low beam thing...
imo.. they looks so sexy...
especially at night.. ![Drool](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/drool.gif)
