I think they all do. I forget the numbers exactly but 2003 has positive camber in the front and something like -1 in the rear.

why do people tell you to unbolt your suspension from the control arms to raise/lower F&F coilovers?

you can easily adjust height from the shock body without ever doing anything more than removing the wheel.

In the front I unbolt the fork arm to allow the lower part of the shock body to spin. You have to unbolt the shock body from the lower control arm in the rear on the CL.

i loosened the lock nut off of the shock body and was able thread the shock itself down while still attached.

differnt F&F design, but you get the idea.

1. loosen the shock body lock nut.

2. using the top lock nut near the spring, thread down into shock body.

3. tighten lock nut when at desired height.

Here's my contribution. Rocking the winter set-up.

I like the white TL wheels , it's a nice look.

It's a custom 3" catback with Vibrant mufflers.

My only complaint about the exhaust system is the fitment isn't the greatest underneath the car.

They put a large resonator underneath and it scrapes quite a bit on speed bumps.

Oh well, the power gains were worth it!

I forgot that the 7th gen has a MacPherson strut assembly. In mine, its much easier to remove the bolt in the fork arm and spin the lower shock body.

Hey guys,

If there are any owners in SoCal with 7G Accord Coupes / Sedans, I'll be parting out my car once I get the stock parts to fill in their spots.

Keep your eyes peeled on VeSixPe for my FS thread, real cheap prices.

I was planning on parting out my car and trading it in for an S2000.

After thinking about it over the weekend, I don't think it's a wise decision right now (Trying to save for a place).

I might as well keep something that's reliable / comfy DD .. since my commute is around 40 miles a day.

So, to eliminate this new car itch .. I bought coilovers

I can get about $200 - $250 for my suspension now .. pretty cheap upgrade

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a set of 8.5" A-specs locally. Gave them a wash in my basement's laundry tub today and took off the Acura "A" to be replaced with a set of Honda emblems.

Tires are going off tomorrow. Then I have to decide whether or not to refinish the wheels. It's not really curb rash but looks like someone was bright enough to set the wheels on the ground with the face down. All the wheels have little pits almost uniformly across the outer edge.

Then I have a set of 245/40/18 Bridgestone RE960AS Pole Position that I'm putting on to serve as our new winter set-up. The white TLs will be for sale soon!

Heck yeah! I almost feel bad because this will primarily be a winter set-up. Actually it presents a challenge because I have to run a pretty fat tire to cover the wheel so I can take it through a tunnel wash. Necessary evil here in Michigan. Would rather run something narrow to cut through the snow.

Thank you, yes, I had a silver one with the RDX accessory wheels. I sold it for a 2002 Lexus LS430 because I gave up looking for a manual 3G TL or a V6 6-speed sedan. I'm always looking for those two cars, even now. The LS is so boring.

Wow I've always wanted an LS! Rides so smooth, plenty quick and has a timeless look congrats on the pickup, I know I'm late haha

I searched cars.com and only came up with like 30 6mt TLs in the country with less then 40k. Pretty rare and some of the prices are ridiculous!

thanks bud! and glad you decided to keep yours... you've been progressing so fast, i'd hate to see it go before you finished it up!

on the subject of blue coupes...

why do people buy these type of wheels! it bugs the shit out of me.
it would be a clean car otherwise.

I just installed my coilovers and there are things I like and don't like.

When I first installed them, I put the shocks on the lowest perch and marveled on how good it looked after lowering the floor jack. .

Very excited, I got in the car .. turned the key and went for a test drive.

I could tell immediately that the car rode like shit, bounced all over the place and felt undriveable as my daily. It bounced so much it honestly felt like there was nothing but rebound from the spring with no compression from the shock .. lead me to believe maybe the shocks were faulty?

I raised them up to where my old H&R Race spring setup was and called it a day .. Ride is still stiff and bouncey .. but nothing compared to what it was on the lowest perch.

I'm happy to report that it handles like it's on rails. I was testing my car on Palomar mountain and it felt 5 / 10mph faster in the tighter turns. Even going through full throttle shifts (1st - 3rd), the car / engine / everything felt so planted. Hardly had any wheel spin and wheel hop on the big 1st > 2nd shift compared to my softer suspension setup.

I'll post pics when the car is cleaned up, overall I'm pretty disappointed in the ride quality on dumped coilovers .. guess that's what you sacrifice on a really low car? .

I saw your thread in the 3G Section but didn't have much to contribute. I've ridden in slammed cars before and they rode just fine, not bouncy whatsoever. Maybe you should try to get yourself a set of TEIN SS so you have the dampening ability?

I dont like Teins because in order to lower the car, you have to adjust the spring perch. When you do that, you lose strut travel. They are also very expensive for what you get. A better option would be a set of custom built Konis/Ground Control slip ons or a set of high quality custom coilovers (Zeal, AMR, etc.).

What springs are on those Teins? It sounds as though you have absolutely no damping, which is why the car is bouncing around so much (its relying solely on the spring to control body motion). If the struts themselves arent blown, its possible the springs are too stiff for the damping rates.

Another thing I dont like about Tein, $100 each strut for a rebuild/revalve

Yea, I knew there was no way TEIN could sell coilovers that rode like this.

I was driving down a semi bumpy road and I was watching the front of my car bounce like it was on bags.

I just don't have $700 - $1000 to throw down on a nice set of coilovers .. I figured I could get these and have a small improvement over what I had installed with adjustable ride height.

Live and learn I guess .

I got them off Craigslist dirt cheap after looking at the pictures .. they looked to be in good condition and figured I couldn't get anything worst than what I had installed.

I'll have to get the model # off of the springs, but it looks like the stock ones that came with it.

Perhaps I could re-use my H&R springs and throw them on these adjustable shocks? I wonder if it'll ride any better.

Next weekend's project will be?

The car looks clean for a few days in the winter. I hate taking it through the wash, but what's worse? Scratches from the car wash, or salt corrosion? I hand-washed the car twice this winter because of the nice weather. This being one of the times.
