so i happened to see this car at a local dealer.....and i bought it..... there was two other people trying to buy the car about 5 minutes after i put the deposit down on it. i took delivery of it about 4 weeks ago.
2011 335is 17K miles, loaded except comfort access. CPO until middle of 2016....and i got it for a steal...
I have only driven it a few times since it's winter and the roads suck, but the times i have had it out, i can not keep the tires under it, so much torque down low!

They put Bridgestone Re050a runflats on it. The car has an factory overboost feature where it'll increase the torque to 380ft/lbs when you step on it if the revs are below 4500rpm. So stepping on it from a stop activates this "overboost" feature. I am thinking of going with a JB4 where i would have this much torque all the time, not when BMW says I should....

the car sticker was 60-61k without the spoiler, I was able to get it for 40K and change. It is CPO'd until 2016, very low miles, and pretty much loaded. It was once of the lower priced 335isI have seen especially with it's low mileage. the dealer ship went completely through the car and replaced the rear two rims due to the previouse owner. Essentially I got a new car for 1/3 it's cost.

I have had so many wheels but the quality of the Work wheels blew me away. Have to get up close to really appreciate how well these wheels are made.
These American wheel companies need to take notes.

Finally picked up another set of rear OEM 19s cheap ($200) for the M3 so I can run 255s on all 4. They need some finish work because the clear coat is breaking down so I'll probably just deal with it or plastidip them black until I can get around to stripping, polishing, and repainting.
While going to get the wheels last night, I got behind a heavily modded 335i and holy shit that thing was fast!!!

I have the square setup of 255s on the M3 now. Front looks very aggressive and I need to add some negative camber to bring them in a touch. Rear wheels are going to need some 12-15mm spacers to bring them out a bit more too.
Can't say a whole lot about handling yet since I just did it last night, but overall liking it so far!

Thanks!
That's correct, understeer is gone, oversteer isn't too bad. Tramlining is a LOT worse, but you get used to it after a while.

Surprised to see such a big thread for Bimmer 3-series here... Yet, here I was for the purpose of my girlfriend's CL, and here I am "forum-jacking" with my 330xi.

Well, as you are starting to find out, the non-Acura sections of the board are pretty robust. I've been active on M5Board, E90Post (Bimmerpost), and here and without a doubt I prefer the non-Acura portion of this board to just about any other place on the net. Good folks here. Many of us moved on to other brands from Acura but still like the community.

Interestingly, I have kinda noticed that, in addition to lots of people having avatars or having other cars listed in their profile/"about" thingamajig on the left-hand side of posts... I'm "nefarious" on E90Post and haven't joined any other BMW forums.

Alright, so next year is the year, I think... And I like to plan early, so here goes.
Somehow my car will be eight years old next year. Time flies. She's still relatively young, with just 46K on the clock. Been pampered and a pretty good car except for the issues very early on. Standard maintenance has been the name of the game for the last 35K miles.
Unless I can be swayed, I'm going to stay BMW. While the 335 has been a blast to drive, she doesn't get driven to the capacity that she's capable of... And for that, I'm leaning towards a 328 or an X1. Different cars, but with a couple of kids and a MDX in the garage, something nimble but can do some grocery hauling, comfortable, and "fun" to drive... Neither will be as fun as the 335, but shit happens when you get older.
Trying to get a feel for the options I'd want. Right now, I have pretty much everything in the 335 sans navigation. That isn't a need with my phone and stellar sense of direction. But I'm thinking I'll need:
- Cold Weather Package
- Premium Package (I have to have comfort access)
- Bluetooth
Questionable:
- Lighting Package (I like Xenons, but are they really necessary?)
- Driver Assistance (I have backup sensors now, they are useful. Could live without.)
- Sports Line (Don't have it today, but sport seats are nice. Justify the cost? Car will never see the track. My ass hasn't spend enough time in sport seats to know if it's worth it.)
Really don't want to spend a ton of money. Thinking I can get decent money from my 335i as a trade, get some sales tax benefits... Starting this now, get some discussion going. This thread is a bit light these days, so it needs some discussion.

Check out the 320i as well, its a detuned version of the 328i and with just software upgrade you are back to being as fast, if not faster, than a 328i.
I personally need xenon and sport seats. Dont care for Driver Assistance package.

320, eh? Friend picked one up on a lease, but it's stick. I drove it, but effectively ignored it because the reviews on it with an automatic have been not all the great. I'll add it to the list.

HID is standard on 335
fuck driver assist, i can assist myself.
M sport - a must IMO, any F30 3 series without Sport or Msport drives like shit. Trust me on this. It gives you 4 caliper brake, wheel, tires (225/255 on Msport and 225 all around on sport), front bumper, rear bumper, Msport suspension, M steering wheel, M cluster, M footrest, doorsill
Bluetooth is standard
Memory seat is standard
Garage opener is standard
Why do you have to have comfort access? you hate pressing the key fob that much?

I am lazy re: comfort access. There's something to be said of just walking up to the car and getting in. When I come home from work, the key is usually in my work bag. One less thing in my pocket.

There's no way I can bring myself to buying a 335 again. I got such a sweet deal on my current car, came with just a few thousand miles. That will never come around again. And I just don't need that kind of horsepower driving to/from work and hauling some kids around.

328 M sport, Lighting package (looks cheap without it) and premium (get cinnamon leather)
you are good to go.

I personally think 3 series without lighting package is UGLY. This is the same for A4s too. Without the base version without xenon projectors look UGLY.
