It's condensation in the system. My G35 used to have it too. There is no way to eliminate it but you can kill the smell. Next time you're out 2 minutes before you get home turn it to recirculate, turn the AC off and crank it. That should clear our the water in the system so it won't get stinky next time you turn it on. I used to spray a can of that anti bacterial febreeze into the intake once a year (intake is in the passenger side footwell). Just get in, close the car up, turn to recirculate and spray some of the febreeze into the footwell. It will suck it up. It's just a bandaid though.

There is a very good article in the new Modified Exotic & lux mag, about a dinan 335i M3 EATER. its a pretty good read. They compair a new stock m3 to a Dinan 335i with an S2 tune. It also has a bunch of other dinan crap that you wouldnt need like Dinan rims and brakes.

Ya of course you could change this part, but the smell won't go away, at least not for very long. It's worth a shot, and if it works that's awesome I just don't think it will. I've smelled the same thing a ton of cars in the summer, it's just moisture in the system from running the AC on a hot day then turning it off when it's hot.

I'm getting tired of that hill holding feature. I'm basically on a flat street and it takes a good second or two for the brakes to release (after I lift of the brake pedal) and the next thing you know, the car jerks forward.

Is there a way to disable the feature or adjust the part that makes the car think it's on a hill???

Hmm, I kinda do this on accident. Maybe this is why my car's usually tend to not have a stinky AC smell in them? I never used max, sometimes because some cars would have a funky odor or 'feel' to the air. For as long as I can remember, I usually cycle my AC - turn it on for 3 mins, then turn it off and let the vents blow full blast for 5 mins, AC on for a min, vents for 3....

or even better, take the tops off and roll the windows down.

Old article, but seems to have good tips anyway (skip to the bottom with all the asterisks)

weird, i never had it activate when im on a flat surface with my car.

Do you have an automatic? Theres a slight delay i noticed when driving an auto 335i, off the line theres hesitation and then it goes/jerks forward. I guess its normal though according to the forums.

I think he must be a manual - an auto will just move forward on a hill regardless. Unless I am reading it wrong?

The acceleration delay on the AT is silly. Just put it in DS to avoid that.

Yea i just realized why an auto would have hill assist.

It doesnt happen on my car on flat surfaces, might want to take it to the dealer or ask e90post to see if there are others having the same issue.

Yeah, mine's an auto and it's embarrassing to jerk forward as if I'm a newbie with a manual.

It doesn't happen ALL the time but enough where I have to remember not to hit the gas too quickly after letting off the brake.

I'll definitely talk to the dealer when I bring it in for service. Weird, I'm at 11K miles and it still says I have 6000 miles to go before service.

^ If you have an auto then its not the hill assist thats doing that.

Its your auto tranny and its normal, they all do that. Like picus said, put it in DS mode.

DS mode it is then. So much for fuel economy - at least it'll be fun.

So.....who's getting the Dinan upgrade? Hmmmm?

Don't those only have about a 14 gallon tank? If so, that sounds about right for slogging around town. What's the MPG calculator say?

DS won't hurt the fuel economy much. I drive in manual mode all the time (like 100% of the time), and shift like a crazy person and am getting 9.1L/100KM (26mpg)

Oh, and I thought it was a 16 gallon tank. I know mine is 60 liters.

Wow, I'm surprised at you guys' mileage. I thought the 3 was supposed to have better fuel economy than the G but I routinely get 22-23 mpg in my car and always over 400 miles per tank (though I do have a 20 gallon tank). I guess you guys can't resist feeling the BOOOOOOST!!!

I think a lot of it is city/hwy. In my G I averaged 18mpg, but I was driving in the city a lot. In the 335 I'm getting 26mpg, but it's like 80% highway now. Tunes seem to make a solid 5-10% difference too.

Im not going to fight it. It was my fault for speeding and ill get supervision anyways since i havent had a ticket over a year. $75 ticket.

It was 50 in a 30. I have a V1 but that road has one of those machines on the side of the road that tells you your speed. So my V1 picks that up everyday and now i just got use to it. Problem is that now I ignore my V1 right by that machine....

I went past the machine doing 35 in a 30 and needed to get ahead of the guy next to me so i can merge onto the expressway. So i got on the pedal and switched lanes and thats where i saw the cop sitting at the gas station with his radar out. D'oh!

Damn torque, why must it be so easy for me to go from 35 to 50 in a blink.

Well not to sound like an ass but you have a 335i which does kind of say pull me over to a cop. If you were in a focus he might have let you go easier.
